When 2nd Lt. James Cathey's body arrived at the Reno Airport , Marines climbed into the cargo hold of the plane and draped the flag over his casket as passengers watched the family gather on the tarmac.

During the arrival of another Marine's casket last year at Denver International Airport , Major Steve Beck described the scene as so powerful: 'See the people in the windows? They sat right there in the plane , watching those Marines. You gotta wonder what's going through their minds , knowing that they're on the plane that brought him home , ' he said 'They will remember being on that plane for the rest of their lives. They're going to remember bringing that Marine home. And they should.'

The night before the burial of her husband's body , Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket , asking to sleep next to his body for the last time The Marines made a bed for her , tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep , she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of 'Cat , ' and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. 'I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it , ' she said. 'I think that's what he would have wanted.'

    Blue Fridays.

Very soon , you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority' We are no longer silent , and are voicing our love for God , country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized , boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans , like you , me and all our friends , simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home , sending a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar , will wear something blue. By word of mouth , press , TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances , coworkers , friends , and family , it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever , certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is .'We need your support and your prayers.' Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity , by example , and wear something blue every Friday.

  3. After working all day then comming home to get the meat out of the smoker. I am stuffed and content. My two youngest sons are excited that I agreed to watch wrestling with them. ( only because rick flair is on) :)

  4. Memorial day seems to be the day that everyone goes to the Lake, drinks beer, and has the weekend off. We all have our own way of celebrating, and this holiday I'm going to do what Marines do by remembering our fallen warriors. Capt John McKenna and I attended Marine Corps OCS and the Basic School together. We were roomates and good friends. John was killed on August 16 2006 in Iraq.

This is the link to Johns page...

This weekend 10% of our gross sales are going to be donated to Johns family for use in their community charity. If you cant stop by remember to think of our service men and women on our front lines this holiday season.

    Thanks and Semper Fi,

  5. I am going so if anyone needs Coochy Cream, let me know 2 bottles for $18....you will never have razor burn, ingrown hairs, or red itchy bumps ....plus you get an extra day or 2 out of your shave. Legs, underarms and you know where:>:>:>

  I am so not going

  6. i think i'll be there, any other guys going ?

  I attended a breakfast ONE time and was the only Male there. That itself was akward feeling enough but when a lady that sells lady stuff announced her entire stock of products that buzz were 40percent off. I spit my grits across the table. Never been to another breakfast, lunch or dinner!!

  7. LOL- I want to plan two trips. One for kids and families so we would needs showers and toilets.

But I also want to do an adult one in a spot where no one is. Where we can all be stinky. :p

    i think she means skanky.not stinky :p

  8. Ok, so I turned it off for about 24 hours, inspected it, and then turned it back on. The compressor and fan were both running. I checked it this afternoon and now the water in the frezzer is frozen. I turned the freezer down and the water began to thaw really soon.

The compressor says it has R134a. Is this not the type that is enviro-friendly? Wondering about recharging it if possible. I know someone told me that this couldn't be done and I know that R13 or whatever it is is restricted by the EPA. Just wondering.

You can charge it but you will need a scale to weigh how much freon your putting in. A vacuum bag and some solder and torch. It is a sealed system so you prob did not lose any freon but something is not as effecient as it was.

  9. We are starting to look for a new home and have found one that we like.

How do we go about finding out if it is a safe neighborhood, very little police activity, etc.?

We really want a place where we can let our youngest out in the back yard and not have to worry about her if we are not right there with her the entire time.

Go sit at the house after 5pm and on a sat. You will learn alot about how people drive thru. Kids playing in the street ect.

  10. Im thinking the adrenalin levels in cops chasing a suspect have to go through the roof. While the cops were wrong for how they handled this situation I can certainly understand Why they did the things they did. The adrenalin levels dropped after a few seconds and they treated the suspect as he should have been.
