  1. I just received a email from my oldest sons teacher informing me that he was going to receive an award at Mclure middle school tomorrow night!!! This is makes all FOUR of my children in Various grades K-8th receiving an academic award of some type. I expect it from 3 of the children but my oldest son has a LD and could not even read well until the 4th grade. To see the way he has taken off this year is simply amazing. YES I am proud :)

  2. I'm thinking mini cream cheese, chive, and spinach calazones with pizza sauce for dipping and a salad....

I just threw some smoked sausage and brats on the smoker. Prob some kind of tater to go with it :)

Then get what you want....he'll learn to tell you next time. :p

Ummmm. She might be the snack he is craving ;)

  3. I witnessed a pretty funny fist fight- It was it a waffle house parking lot, 2 waitresses were slugging it out, each with a cigarette in their mouths. The whole tribe of employees were cheering them both on, and I hear one person say "Hey Jimmy, ain't you gonna break them up before someone calls the law" and i swear to god, Jimmy said "Hell no, I ain't got but 5 teeth left as it is! I don't wanna go screwin' up my good looks- that's the only thing my wife ain't took from me."

  I miss all the good stuff!

  4. I laughed out loud at a bumper sticker that was in the back window of a ford pick up that said " If I wanted a hummer I would have called your girlfriend" and what made it funnier was it was parked in front of Northside elementry and the driver was a woman. ( she looked kinds embarrased when I laughed)

  5. I worked in Detroit for a couple of years and housing was crazy expensive and it took a big wage to live a middle class life style. Now that average house cost 18,000 dollars it will not take as much money to live a middle class life.

  6. I don't think this is turning political.... but when the guberment starts passing out the money like this... it MAKES it turn political.

I think this is just good discussion about what's happening right now...

Thanks for posting that mrshoward...... I was about to.

Discssion is good :) Its my opinion that if the govt did not step in when it did the auto makers and banks would have collasped at the same time sending us straight to a depression with out passing go. It bought time to avoid the perfect storm and to allow the economy to weather one storm out at a time.

  7. I see I was shivering on the last post...

GAS - that is why I was wondering about blowing up the house. I priced heaters...I was flabbergasted ! Makes the boom sound cheaper ! (JK)

Ok. Natural or propane? If it's propane is it possiable your out?

  8. ok. a totally female question - how do I do that...without blowing up the house ! :p

    Ok - now a totally female question.....how do I do that...without blowing up the house ! :p

First you need to figure out if it's gas or electric.

Gas is alot cheaper to upgrade to a tankless system. The amp draw on electric ones is enormous.

  9. They will be negotiating with themselves for wages and benefits now, I'm sure that will work well. Doesn't matter though since the taxpayer will support them with 75% ownership and a bottomless wallet just like Amtrak.

I will say this about UAW president Ron Gettelfinger, he did point out the hipocracy of GM's plan to import thousands of Chinese made sub-compact cars when they are getting billions in US taxpayer funds. Plenty of stupidity to go around, and we are picking up the tab after the true owners are screwed out of their meager share of nothing.

The union employees of united airlines were the majority stock holders but it didn't mean squat, they did not have voting seats on the board of directors. The employees were not allowed to sell their stock while all the excecutives dumped theirs and drove the company into bankruptcy.

As for Chrysler. Do you remember the loans that the Reagan supported that prevented them going into bankruptcy then? Do you remember the 1 billion dollars in concessions that the hard working employees gave up in order to secure those loans?

I wouldn't want to know what the interest (10-20% 80's rates) on that 1 billion dollars over 29 years would equate to. You constantly claim that the share / bond holders were screwed when the union was awarded such a large portion of the new company. I think the employees had a pretty darn big investment in the company.

  10. I have never been so Question then.

It says you can tail gate. But you can not take food or drinks in the stage side.

So you can only have food in the parking lot? Do they not allow you to bring something in? Do they have vendors?

If not this will be a long day 2-10 and paying for all drinks and food.

I was hoping to take a blanket and snacks and enjoy some music.

I have never been to that venue either. I am sure they will gladly sell you all the 5 dollar cokes and food you want. I plan on tailgating for the biggest part of the day

  11. I won't buy unless they stop allowing other cars to be sold in the US! You don't think they would DO THAT do you? :o

I heard on the news last night that 40 something percent of all cars sold in the USA are imports. Japan only imports 5% and south Korea 2.5%

  12. such negativity yall!!

Phone books are great for checking the performance of rifle ammunition reloads. IE - round A with this bullet and this amount of powder penetrated to the M's. Round B with this bullet and this much powder only made it to the L's
