  1. Those are very likely the balloons the pilot saw. There is a five minute delay on the site per FAA regulations which would put the plane pretty close to Rockmart. I wish he had said what color they were (black and yellow).

Glad you can enjoy it like I do.

There are some humorous conversations that go on between ATL and the pilots.

yEA, like their favorite saying, “november12345 radar contact, remain clear of the class Bravo……..”. Like they are all that busy at 0200 on a Sunday morning that they can’t clear someone through the Bravo. I can see them in there now, laughing while watching the altitude and heading changes on the LONE blip on the scope. Entertainment value, that can be the only explanation.

  2. I do appreciate what you guys do, when the rules are followed. I will never do that job no matter how much it pays. All I am saying is my speed never changed, I didn't even realized the guy was after me until he turned around and followed me. My surprise was when he told me how fast I was going, according to him.... Now is between me and the judge... enough time wasted here.

    Don't let the doorknob hitcha.....

    SEEya.

  3. Well... well... well... Mister bad @$$ again..... Guess who is going into my ignore list.....YOU.

No need to waste my time playing your little "power trip game"...... Get lost...

    YEeeeaaah.

Most officers give 15 - 20 mph before they stop...however some on here are using that to create some sort of conspiracy theory.

I wasn’t even going to try to explain that one to them.

  4. Well... well... well... Mister bad @$$ again..... Guess who is going into my ignore list.....YOU.

Blah Blah Blah..... When you have your cruise control on, don't tap on the breaks and both vehicles are moving, you going west and the cop car going east, your explanation goes out the door...........Yes I was going 10 over the limit and for that I will pay, no problem there, but when the numbers don't match and you see a pattern of the same BS, well...you know BS...

Karma goes both ways buddy......you'll have your day... guarantee

That’s right, can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Same thing you did last time I put you on the spot (heeeeer dogydogydogy) and challenged you to put up or shut up, you disappear for a while. You folks are all the same. Have a nice day and smile BIG when you pay your ticket. KARMA.

  5. I would go to court.

I got a ticket a few years ago in Hiram, the only one I've ever had, for a "rolling stop" at a 4-way crossing. I so wish I would have gone and fought it, but I didn't. It cost me in higher insurance because of it. If I had fought it, I think I would have won. The other side of the story is there was no other cars at the 4-way stop, I wasn't speeding, AND I was trying to get home to my child who had passed out at a sports practice, and had to leave!!!

If you told the same story in court you would not have “won” it, the judge may conceder the circumstances and may have shown “mercy” on you.

The fact that there are no other cars at an intersection like this does not mean the traffic control device becomes optional.

The only stop signs that are optional are the ones with a white outline. <runningawayfastnow>

  6. You mean to tell me that you don't just pick on people during your shift? You really don't just stop folks for shoots and giggles??????

Shushhhhh. How am I gonna make my quota if you give away our secrets???

  7. Wow... exactly the same situation, blue lights turn on, cop car coming towards me, looked down and saw 55.....

Want some cheeeeeez to go wit that whine?

"karma is a Biotch"<quoting thedogs from a previous topic.> aint it.

To the OP, I say go to court, if you are guilty or not. It is the states burden to prove guilt. You have nothing to lose by going, and it just may work to your benefit by showing up.

What people do not realize is the officer sees you before you see him and is already building a tracking history. You are clipimg along at 70 in a 55 zone and you see what looks like some kind of automobile on the side of the road, subconsciously you start to decelerate, as you approach the automobile you realize that it is a law enforcement vehicle and let off the accelerator and look down to check your speed and WHEW, you are at 66 in a 55 no biggie. So the officer pulls you over and writes you a ticket for 70 in a 55, the 70 you were doing before you noticed the car on the side of the road, you are livid, the officer is wrong because you looked at your speedometer when you first realized that it was an officer and you were doing 66. The officer can tell exactly when you start to notice him also. He sees you coming estimates your speed and then activates his radar and the target speed shows 70, he observes a constant 70 for a bit and then watches as it slowly drops a few MPH and then all of the sudden BAM a 5-10 MPH drop almost instantly, yep they have recognized the police car.

And don’t forget that the speedometers are not certified as far as their calibration goes, so they could be off by a few MPH one way or the other. Changes in tire and rim sixe will also have an effect on the accuracy of the speedometer.

Don’t believe me? Go on a ride along with a traffic unit and see just exactly how it works, if you are open minded and willing to learn something I think you will see things in a different light.

But from previous threads that have turned in to “bashacop” threads where "stories" were posted with the intent to discredit law enforcement and were exposed as blatant lies and truth fell upon deaf ears (or eyes) , I doubt any one would be interested in learning the truth anyway.

Ya know, there are plenty of folks out there doing 20+ over the limit; we don’t need to make $h1t up just to make cases.

  8. I tried, mom wont talk to me and dad is in florida and told me to keep my nose out of it....

    not sure what to do...

    Be careful.

Understand, I am not saying you have done any of these things, but if the juveniles parents have had an attitude with/ don’t like you and told you to “stay out of it” they very well may attempt to play this card.

  9. where do you get your information? I have been researching the sex abuse laws here in Georgia for awhile as I have a immediate family member who is now in his 20's, who has spent years in jail for a non phyical (verbal)sexual assault on a girl a few years younger than himself. I am not saying what he did was right it wasn't....it was WAY wrong but being labled as a child molester who got a deal is the kind of thing that will keep him from getting a good job or have a peaceful happy life in society when he gets out. He doesn't deserve that and if Georgia would let us know the offenders from the predators we would all have a better understanding of what we are dealing with.

The only “sexual assault” charge that Georgia has deals with people in custody, or in institutions or doctors care. Even under this statute there must be a physical act.

  10. I believe a hunting dog is defined as "one who hunts". These dogs do not hunt. They eat, crap, breed, have puppys and bark. Thats it in a nutshell.

Just asking, you didn’t seem to know a lot about them. Like I said, having 18 dogs is not a crime. When you have 18 dogs there is bound to be a smell emanating from the area.

I know a lot of folks who hunt and have a butload of hounds.

The best your friend can do is file a complaint with animal control and let them investigate it.

  11. This is posted on behalf of a friend;

My friend has a neighbor who has at least 18 beagles and who knows how many puppies. You can smell the dog sh*# from my friends back deck. They bark and bay all night long. This is not in a subdivision, but on a main road with Estate Houses on large lots. This is not the "hood" nor the "country". I'm sure several laws are being broken. At a minimum; Non Licensed Breeder, Non Licensed Business.

Who do I call in addition to animal control?

Are they hunting dogs? having 18 dogs is not by default a crime.

  12. I did, and the Veterinarian charged me $45.00 for that also. I just didn't include that, because I was just showing what the new $170.70 itemization consisted of. :)

Well WT, with all of the taxes being imposed on those evil do-gooders that make over 250K a year or so, you just don’t think they are going to suck it up and absorb all that themselves. That is what happens when you tax folks who provide services based on their revenue, you tax them into oblivion or the consumer sees higher prices for services.

For those that wanted change, there ya go.

  13. All within a 45 mile radius of where I work.

    CRESTVIEW, Fla. --

A man accused of beating his wife killed two north Florida sheriff's deputies who caught up with him at a shooting range, then fled across the county line, where he died in an exchange of gunfire with deputies, authorities said.

It happened around 1 p.m. Saturday when the two Okaloosa County deputies went to Shoal River Sporting Clays and Shooting Center in response to a domestic violence call, sheriff's officials said.

    HEADLAND, Ala. --

Officers in southeast Alabama shot a suspect to death after he killed one police officer and badly wounded a sheriff's deputy, authorities said.

Police said they got a call Friday afternoon that 53-year-old Fred Davis was firing a shotgun into the air outside his trailer. Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Ted Yost was first on the scene, and Davis shot and wounded him with the shotgun, State Trooper Kevin Cook said.

Davis then shot and killed Headland Officer Dexter Hammond with a high-powered rifle before other arriving officers shot and killed him, Cook said.

WOW. I can honestly say I have NEVER seen any of those shows.

If I could just pay for the one channel I watch I would be happy. TVland.

  15. Last year we had a salamander get in and kept hanging around the fireplace. The 4 cats were jumpy for days. I kept trying to find it, catch it and put it outside, but never could. Finally 2 WEEKS later I found him dried up in a crevice of the brick around the fireplace. Poor thing was probably trying to hide from the cats!

The frogs, lizards and spiders are good things to have around the yard. They catch the flies, knats, fleas, aphids etc and eat them. Lady bugs will eat the aphids off rose bushes. So I try not to hurt the "good" critters. :D

YOus get bad mojo if you hurts a ladybug.

  16. Just looking at that picture makes me light headed. I KNOW they can't hurt me...I KNOW it, but I am so terrified of them I tend to act like an idiot when one scurries near me. Honestly, what could they possibly do to me? I KNOW it, but I can't help it. Call me crazy...Oh wait, lots of people do! :D

    BUT they're soooo cute.
