  1. I am the #1 poster on PCom for today. :yahoo: My tenure has lasted all of... oops I'm #2 again. Oh well. I feel a bit like a Georgia Bull Dog at the beginning of the football season.

  2. I'd rather see Hillary than Obama. That says a lot coming from me. I'll keep voting for those who want to take less money from me and have less control over me any day.

The government is bigger than ever under Georgie. With warrantless wiretapping and the attacks on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the gov't has more control over you than ever. With home forclosures, fuel prices, pharmaceutical costs, health insurance costs, overall prices are higher than ever so you now pay more than ever for just about everything so you have less money. What exactly have been the improvements over the last 8 years under republican rule?

  3. I had them coming to see me a lot. At first I told them I was a Jew but that didn't detour them. So then I said I didn't believe in anything, they still came. I finally put a stop to it. When I heard the doorbell and the dogs went bat sh** crazy barking I peeked out the guest room window, saw their bibles and literature then I stripped naked went to the door and opened it in all my glory. They just stood there for a second, didn't say a word and hastily trotted back to their car. They've never been back.

I like that one. I'm going to try it but I'm going to hand them a roll of toilet paper and asked them if they would follow me to the porcelain god and wipe for me.

  4. It has been a hot topic as of late around here...hippie music. Outside of some Pink Floyd and a little "Mammas and Pappas", Gipper Girl cannot stomach it.

As a music lover, I realize that alot of my favorite musicians are former hippies and maybe even 'hippies at heart' today. But, their music is not.

So, do you love it or hate it? Names please.

Okay, Mrs. Howard, Walking Tall, AirBorneMom...hit me with it. Don't be a downer and play along. Groovy.

Alright, thats all I got..I'm starting to feel like a liberal. I'm gonna have to fire my gun and count some money or something...in my gigantic, gas guzzeling SUV. I feel better already.

    Cigar, anyone?

    Sorry...had to be done...fair and balanced. ;)

Shhhhhhhhh... spread the word AGG is a "closet" hippie. :D

  5. :::AGG still unloading bag...stethoscope, rocking chair...:::[/color]

I cannot believe I'm about to do or say this. Oh, well...here goes nothing...

:::AGG whispers::: I like this version better.

I'm gonna catch all kinds of hell from more than a few if they see this...eh hm...COWA, WT, PSD..ShangriLa...Flamez...

:::AGG runs from thread with spoon full of sugar and Wild Turkey in hand:::

Im just sayin' its a better version...that's all...

Come into the light AGG, turn away from the darkside. :D

  6. I've said all along that there are a lot of pitchers throwing in the high 90s that probably couldn't throw that hard if not for steroids. It seems if Bonds and McGuire get asterisks for their career there will be a few pitchers joining them if this holds up. It's a lot easier to throw a 95+ fastball with steroids than it is to hit one with steroids. I have a feeling Randy Johnson "The Big Unit" had his career extended by steroids as well. He was an average pitcher starting out then the last dozen years of his career he was dominant.

ESPN.com reported Brian McNamee, a former trainer for the Yankees and Clemens, told investigators he supplied Clemens and Pettitte with steroids and that information is in the report. The Web site cited an unidentified source close to the trainer.

"After we read the report, we will have something to say," said Randy Hendricks, the agent for Clemens and Pettitte.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2006 that Clemens and Pettitte were among the players former major league pitcher Jason Grimsley accused of using performance-enhancing drugs, according to a federal agent's affidavit. Clemens and Pettitte have denied the allegations. On Wednesday, Pettitte said "I've not heard a word from anyone" about former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell's investigation.

  7. WAKEFIELD, Ohio - That was no dog chasing cars in southern Ohio earlier this week. It was a cat — a big cat.

Pike County sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of a lion "attacking" vehicles on U.S. 23 Monday and found a man trying to capture a 550-pound feline near Wakefield.

Terry Brumfield told officers that his lion named Lambert had broken out of its pen in nearby Piketon, about 90 miles east of Cincinnati. The owner was able to get the animal back into the cage without anyone getting hurt.

Brumfield and his wife have two lions. Vicki Brumfield said raising them has helped her husband through a bout of depression. She said they are tame, like great big house cats.

Ohio doesn't require permits for exotic animals, but that would change under an Ohio House bill now in committee.

eBay shut down an entire discussion board devoted to Trust & Safety issues after someone began posting confidential user information. Someone using multiple User IDs began listing information purported to be eBay users' private and financial data on the Trust & Safety discussion board. Mark, a user who says he posts regularly on the board, said he noticed the problem at 8:50 am Eastern on Tuesday and called his eBay representative about 20 minutes later after he saw the posts remained. He said it took about an hour for the posts to be removed, and minutes later, the entire board was taken down.

The person posted using several IDs that look like they had been hijacked from legitimate users. The subject line of each thread began with the letters "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" followed by six numbers.

Mark said regular users who were posting on the board while the incident was taking place suspected that eBay may have been hacked, and he said some believed it was a scammer named Vladuz that has tormented eBay in the past. eBay has denied that Vladuz has ever hacked into its system

  9. OK, you asked a lot so here goes.....

    1. There is very little evidence to prove that pitchers have used roids. There are few pitchers that can hit more then 95 on the gun and that is why guys like Verlander, Rodney and Zumia make my Tigers so dangerous - they are true power pitchers. Over the course of that last decade pitching speed as decreased not increased as more and more breaking balls are introduced to the game. Dice K is a dangerous pitcher because he throws so many different breaking pitchs. Are there pitchers that used roids - I am sure there are, but I don't think it is as big an advantage as it is for hitters. The speed in a pitch is produced by spin and proper hand posistion more then pure strength. I have seen a 12 year old kid hit 60-70 on the gun because he knew what he was doing and I have seen a large muscle bond man barely be able to throw 30 or 40.

I'm willing to accept much of what you say about pitchers but I have to question guys like Clemens and Randy Johnson. I know Clemens routine is insane but he seemed on the decline when he left Boston and then found a career extending pick-me-up in Toronto. He has had a second career since leaving Boston. There was a time when Clemens was syonymous with Boston. Why did Randy Johnson seemingly fall apart once he got to NY and the steroid scrutiny increased? Did his age finally catch up to him? Overwhelmed by the glare from the media?

    2. Name a pitcher that has had the majore body changes that would lead you to think they are on roids. Clemens is one example that keeps coming up but I don't think his is anything more then age, that and ALL of his teamates say that his workout routine is insane - even his younger son in the minors can't keep up with the old man. The "big" pitchers in baseball are just that big. Sure Wells and Sabatha throw hard but they combine proper techinque with there large frames to pitch that way. Verlander is a stick yet still hurls the ball 100 MPH when he wants to and I don't think anyone can claim he is on roids.
Different steroids do different things. Some are for rips and cuts, some are for quickness and others are for bulk. i think a fresh closer coming in late in the game against players that have played 7+ innings already has an advantage without steroids. He is cold against warm players but he is still fresh.

    3. NO there should not be a * becuase of the increase in the pitchers mound height - rules and field dimensions have changed through out the game one good example is the smaller ballparks that are used today. Should the DH not get credit for his hits because the NL does not use one? Also the game is 9 innings if the manager leaves the pitcher in for to long that is part of the game - why would there be an * for that? Is there an * for the pitcher during the start of the game?
    I don't think so either.
  10. A lot of people think hitters should have an asterisk next to their stats. Should the pitchers have an asterisk as well? I remember a time when few teams had a 98mph closer now it seams every team does. Normally the talent pool is diluted as the league expands but some how there is an abundance of hurlers. Sometimes on the same team.

How many pitchers have the hitters had to hit against that were on steroids? How many 89 mph pitchers have become 98 mph pitchers due to steroids? Should the hitters get an asterisk for having to hit against these pitchers in the 7,8,9th inning? Should these pitchers get an asterisk for each strikeout? Through the use of steroids it takes a lot less effort to throw a 98 mph fastball than it does to hit it.

Should everyone who has hit after 1968 get an asterisk for the pitcher's mound being lowered 3 inches?

  11. I don't see how the speeding ticket is any different.

The speeding is no longer an offense. The penalty for the sex crime has been reduced. They are asking for "retro-active" sentencing to affect the offence that happened under a different set of rules.

Just like my speeding ticket - I should be able to get a refund since the penalty has changed.

Even the former legislator said his intent when writing the law was not for a minor to receive a prison sentence for consentual sex with someone 2 years younger. You don't go to jail for 10 years for 9 miles over the limit. The kid has been in jail for 2 years for something that was not a malicious act. He didn't force the girl to do anything she offered. If a 15 year old offered the same to you when you where 17, would you have said no?
