  1. Vah! Denuone latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur.
  2. Wow. A great post TBAR. But of course you've been labelled evil along with me, so I'm sure you're posts go over as well as mine do... at least with some. I truly just wish everyone could get along. Just join in the community of P.com, share respectfully, and enjoy what is the diversity of our board/county.
  3. And don't forget bwilliams is crocheting those over-sized red-letter "P"s for us too.
  4. Well said Pubby. Thank you for posting. Hope you feel better soon.
  5. LR, I was sorry to hear of your dear friend's passing. She was obviously loved by many, and how fitting that her best friends were with her when she passed! We should all be so fortunate to be surrounded with that kind of support and love when it is our time to make that same journey. Blessings to you all.
  6. Here is Mr. Eldridge's obit, from the local funeral home who is handling his service: http://obit.musicfuneralhome.com/obit_disp...listing=Current I spoke with my mom on the phone this morning; it appears that Frank had a massive heart-attack, which is very surprising as he was a health-nut, and in great shape. She shared several stories about him from their years of friendship.... what a special friend he truly was! He always took the time to call or email from the State Captial to check on my father (he's a stroke patient), he attending my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary party a
  7. My father is a very special man, and yes, he has been blessed with many wonderful friends in his long life. Thank you for your kind words, and for sharing more about Mr. Eldridge. My father and mother are in deep mourning right now -- my heart breaks for them right now, and for the Eldridge family. This was most unexpected.
  8. There is now an AJC article on this: http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/sto...obeldridge.html Former state senator Frank Eldridge dies Published on: 02/04/06 Frank Eldridge, a fixture at the state Capitol and secretary of the state Senate for 14 years, died early today of an apparent heart attack, a Senate aide said. Mr. Eldridge, 73, was a state senator for 17 years, ending his service in the early 1980s, and for four years was executive director of the Georgia Public Service Commission, the state's utilities regulator. In 1993, he returned the Senate, named by
  9. Thank you both. I'm most concerned for how hard this is hitting my father. He will be 75 this May, and I fear these losses have greatly impacted him in such a way that worries me. I wish we lived closer to my parents -- they are 4 1/2 hours away in S. GA. We have hopes of moving back there at some point in the next few years, but right now due to other circumstance it's not happening in the very near future. Anyway -- thanks for reading and for your kind words.
  10. My mother informed me this morning that our dear family friend, Mr. Frank Eldridge, Jr. (Secretary of the Senate for Georgia) died last night in his sleep. I know no other details at this time. I have had the privilege of knowing Mr. Eldridge all of my life, for he was a childhood friend of my father. They remained life-long friends. This death has hit my father extremely hard, as he just lost his best friend in December (he had terminal leukemia), and his baby-brother this month (he had terminal lung-disease). Mr. Eldridge was a good man. We will remember him fondly.
  11. FreeBird -- why in the world are you wanting to fight over something as stupid as this??? The member "wellnessbuff" posted -- thinking that all these other nastier posts were being posted in a *memorial thread* -- and I responded to let them know that no, this thread had been split off, and was being used for detractions. Afterwards Wellnessbuff still seemed to not completely understand, and even then felt that I too was a detractor (which I'm not) -- so I responded and PMed them. What is so hard to understand about any of that? Seems to me like you're just trying to start someth
  12. Wellnessbuff -- I'm NOT a detractor. Check your PMs.
  13. While I agree with what you're saying, this "side-topic" was thankfully snipped out of the *actual* "rest in peace" memorial thread, so that people could just be as nasty as their souls allow them to be in this thread without detracting away from those who wished to post something in memorial for Mrs. King.
  14. Yahoo has a nice article about her: http://tinyurl.com/8d5hg And a nice one of quotes: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060131/ap_on_...t_king_quotes_1
  15. May Mrs. King's presence live on in the hearts of many, just as her husband, the late Rev. King Jr., does. May she rest in peace. She was a remarkable woman.
  16. For the record, I've not received any sort of weirdness via email. I hope all the issues are contained, addressed, and worked out soon. Privacy leaks are a serious matter.

  20. Sounds like a good policy to me Pubby. Keep up the good work. You've got my support.
  21. My thoughts go out to his family, during this hard time of loss. May their memories of happier times comfort them now and always.
  22. Ahhh, I just saw this onlne, man. He'll be missed. I have such fond memories of staying up late with my oldest sister watching Johnny. He was absolutely the best.
