Easy - Because the left is pushing so hard against our constitutional rights. Back off on the gun grabbing talk and show some willingness to discuss all the potential causes of these shootings and the tone of the debate will change quickly. That's why the Dems are pushing the emotional issue so hard, because they know it turns out emotional voters. But voting on emotions is dangerous, regardless of party. How do you think Hitler was elected?

I should also point out that people who are not mentally ill do not pick up a rifle and massacre people just because they are having a bad day. We've all had bad days. We might mouth off of flip the bird, but we don't go on mass killing sprees unless we're either mentally ill or evil. It should also be noted that these school shooters didn't do it on a whim, they spent time planning them.

I never said it was that easy, but we need to do a better job in that area. The Florida shooter had been reported multiple times, yet he slipped through the cracks.
-
I think most of us conservatives have said we need to enforce the laws on the books and do a better job with mental illness.
-
Then why do you incessantly pursue ideas that will not help? We've proven time and again that the laws already on the books didn't work, we've proven that the guns you want banned are not assault rifles, and we've demonstrated that there are other important factors in these shootings than guns, which you have no interest in discussing. So where is the logic in your argument?
-
Regarding these school shootings: -In most, if not every case, mental illness has been a factor -In most, if not every case, the shooter used a gin that he shouldn't have had according to existing laws on the books -In many of these shooting; the shooter was taking prescribed psychotropic drugs -Most of the shooters came from broken or dysfunctional families But I don't think I've seen any of you demonstrate any interest in discussion those issues, even after I and some others have tried to bring them up. It's gun control, gun control, and more con control from the left. Nothing but g

That is indeed one of the reasons. And this can be verified by reading the journals of the framers and by considering the situation of the time...the tyranny of England which we fought to escape. Let's think this through (meaning, use that logic and common sense stuff). To begin with, I hope you're aware that the main branches of the armed forces could originally only be used against U.S. citizens if the governor of a state declares Posse Comitatus which authorizes it. Sadly, this has been weakened somewhat through later legislation, most significantly when President Obama signed Nation

You clearly didn't understand this article, which doesn't surprise me. While it's true that most decisions will involve some emotion; some people tend to make them almost entirely on emotion, which leaves out the critical element of logic. Genuine liberals are typically people of great compassion who driven by their caring for others. While this, in itself, is an excellent quality; a genuine liberal often leaves out some needed logic in determining the best way to deal with things. I suspect a couple of people in this discussion are genuine liberals. The others here from the left

In some of the older software, an admin could see passwords. That has been changed in newer revisions. So yes, the admin would have to reset the password on a given account, effectively locking out the real owner of the account. In the two cases of hijacked accounts here where I knew the original owners; that is exactly what happened...the password was reset and the real owner could no longer log in. Regardless...it's unethical, and it happens here far to often. And BTW...the real COWA couldn't spell admin. Perhaps, but I think the writers of the 2nd Amendment were referring more to

There's no place for logic and common sense in this thread, it's all about feelings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyBcHUe4WeQ

I didn't say how it was done. But clearly, you know the procedure. You swallowed the bait I dangled in front of you. Are knives specifically covered in the bill of rights?
-
Not a one of you have responded to the fact that the laws already on the books would have kept most of these shooters have having their guns, had thr government done their job. Why should anyone take you serious when your entire argument is emotional with zero logic in it.
-
And yet again, the left demonstrates that they have no interest in discussing any possible solutions BUT gun control. Which means you are what is keeping real solutions from happening.

History says I'm right.

We're not Australia, and we're dealing with an entirely different set of dynamics. There are plenty of other lessons we should be taking from history.
-
I've been shot at and robbed at gun point. My politics have nothing to do with this; common sense and logic does. Your ways will do nothing to address the issue of school shootings.
-
Sorry, but you don't speak for all of any generation. And as usual, you are making emotional decisions that are devoid of logic. No, they marhched for feedgoodism. There are many other things they could have used their time and effort for that would have saved far more lives.
-
You're proud of young people who marched for the cause of restricting their constitutional rights?
-
You call it that, I call it love and respect for my wife. It would seem that my system has worked better than yours.
-
Oh but she's worth it!
-
You should gain a little respect for women and maybe you'd have one.
-
Because whether by working a job outside the home or by being a wife and mother; women don't earn their pay any other way...right? (sarcasm)
-
This might make it harder for some of you to buy it.

He was a good man, one of the few Democrats I voted for because he put people above party.

Not hard to do when you have admin powers.
