  1. This ethics complaint against Heath is not about some late filing or receiving a donation which is slightly above the legal limit as most complaints involve. This is about an admittedly intentional effort to circumvent campaign laws so that tens of thousands of dollars could be funneled to heath's campaign. Six mailers sent from this committee for Heath to the entire district would cost at least $5,000 per mailer and probably more. What makes heath's actions humorous is that he actually said at the republican debate that we don't need ethics laws at all because we just need to elect hone
  2. The news story was false, which is why you cannot find it on the news site any more. Judge Valbuena is highly intelligent having attended top notch universities for his undergraduate and law degrees. He was originally appointed to be magistrate judge around 10 years ago by then Chief Superior Court Judge Bill Foster. Glassdogs and I disagree on this one, as I have known Judge Valbuena as an attorney, judge and most importantly to him, a father to three great kids. I do not always agree with him and the other judges on their rulings, but I respect him and am confident that his decisions are m
  3. I believe that the Patch serves a purpose and appears to be well run. However, if that is the only place you get local news, you may not have heard about the major ethics investigation into Sen. Bill Heath's funneling of tens of thousands of dollars into his campaign. Nor would you have learned that Mr. Heath believes the funding of the Hope Scholarship is morally "wrong", and that he would vote against it "if given the chance". You also would not have had access to clips from debates where Mr. Heath makes completely contradictory statements depending on who he is speaking to. I personally
  4. Where do you suggest Paulding residents go for local issues?
  5. Mo and SG. You are absolutely correct about $100 per occurrence not per year. It is still better than nothing . Both Mr. Rogers and Mr.Carruth have pledged not to take any gifts lobbyists in contrast to Mr. Heath who wants unlimited gifts from lobbyists. We have a real choice in this election.
  6. SD: The $100 limit is an annual cap. We can argue whether that is too low or too high, but Heath thinks there should be no cap at all, which is not surprising since he apparently thinks the $2500 limit on campaign contributions shouldn't apply to him either by funneling around $50,000 for the benefit of his campaign through a PAC he helped set up and fund.
  7. As it stands today, there are no limits whatsoever to lobbyist gifts. The ballot question also asks whether we should end the unlimited gifts. Sen. Heath wants to continue unlimited gifts. If you disagree with him, tell your neighbors and friends and let folks know on Facebook, twitter, etc. if voters don't say "NO" to politicians like Bill Heath, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
  8. One of the ballot questions in the Republican primary is whether voters support a $100.00 limit on lobbyist gifts. Senator Bill Heath opposes any limit because he claims it is meaningless. He also says that we do not need ethics laws if we elect politicians like him to office. What do you think?
  9. This is fantastic for Paulding County and a testament to the hard work and commitment our County and cities have made to economic development.
  10. What a great clip. For those who continue to deny that Heath called the funding of the Hope Scholarship morally "wrong" and that he would vote against it "if given the chance", watch the video and hear his statements in his own words. I realize it may be hard for Heathens to step back and give an honest assessment of their candidate, so thank you Pat for posting the clip. What surprises me is that many of his supporters were actually present at the debate on June 5th and attended the forum last weekend. Yet none of his supporters have engaged in any meaningful discussion about Heath's cont
  11. Bill Heath honest and protects the Hope Scholarship? What a joke. How can he sleep at night? Mr. Heath specifically said at the Paulding Republican Women's Forum on June 5, 2012, that the Hope Scholarship is morally "wrong" because it is funded by the lottery, and that he would end the Hope Scholarship if given the chance. Are there any Heathens here who can defend the hypocrisy?
  12. Blah...blah...blah...What BS. The letter in LPPT's post above is from Bill Heath on his FB page. It is also quite obvious that Sen. Heath did not author the letter personally but that's another story. There is no question that Bill Heath sponsored the legislation to put the TSPLOST on the ballot in 2010 and clearly supported the TSPLOST. In fact, just last year when the Legislature was considering in a special session whether to move the TSPLOST vote from July to November for the purpose of improving its chances of passing, Sen. Heath was there in support of moving the date. That effor
  13. Stoneridge Group designs the mail pieces after McEllhannon tells them what to do. They then farm the printing jobs to various printers. I don't know who they use for printers.
  14. Thanks for posting. Attached is jpeg of Incrediboy. The similarities between McElhannon and Buddy a/k/a Incrediboy a/k/a Syndromw are uncanny. BTW: this is Sen. Heath's political consultant - the one whose post office box was used to send the fake collection letters to voters.
  15. I found the name for the little villain in The Incredibles....Buddy a/k/a Incred-a-boy!!! Perfect for McEllhannon. Can someone post his photo? The similarities are scary. "Buddy" McEllhannon is not only the registered agent for the company where the mailer was sent. He is also the Organizer for the company (in other words, he filed the paperwork to create the company) and Rosemary McEllhannon (his wife I believe) files the annual reports for the company with the Secretary of State. "Incred-a-boy" is also the owner of South, LLC. For those interested, South's name is on most of Heath's m
  16. McEllhanon is Heath's political consultant who masquerades aperspire shoe of truth. What a disgusting phony. He's the one masterminding this stuff. He reminds me of the diminutive villain on the movie The Incredibles.
  17. The caller is obviously cavalier about claiming to be a law enforcement officer. This is no different than the police impersonators terrorizing drivers in Paulding County in the last few weeks. I would not be surprised if a warrant is issued for the arrest of the person who is making the robocalls impersonating a police officer. Pathetic. The Heath campaign has some explaining to do, especially with the mailer just sent in coordination with the robocall.
  18. Senator Heath says that the pledge is not meaningful and refuses to sign it. Perhaps the $50,000 or more spent on behalf of Sen. Heath's campaign by the PAC (apparently run by Chip Rogers) referenced in LPPT's article explains why.
  19. Prince4ever: The two are inextricably linked. Without the lottery, there is no HOPE Scholarship. Sen. Heath called the Hope Scholarship morally "wrong" at the forum on June 5th, apparently because it is funded by the lottery, and proudly stated that "if given the chance" he would vote against it. As the Senate Floor Leader, Sen. Heath certainly will have the chance. If it is morally "wrong" and, according to Mr. Heath, is a program where poor people are just paying for the education of rich kids, why would Mr. Heath issue the following statements in legislative newsletters? "T
  20. Did you read the content? It is an issue oriented piece pointing out that Sen. Heath refuses to support a senate rule limiting the amount a lobbyist can give to $100. Bill Heath says that this rule is meaningless and won't support it. The piece then points out the reason for Sen. Heath's opposition, which is that Heath gets almost all of his campaign contributions from special interests and lobbyists, in fact, one of Mr. Heath's main supporters is a democrat who lobbies for unions. Based on your rationale, you can't support Heath either. It is also apparent that you have not received Heat
  21. Rockysmom: Sen. Heath unambiguously made the statements at the Paulding Chamber of Commerce on June 5, 2012, during the Republicqn candidate forum hosted by the Paulding Republican Women. During the debate, Mr. Heath stated that the State has created a system to fund education in Georgia by taking money from "poor people" for the "education of rich kids." He went on state that "if given the chance" he would vote against the funding of the Hope Scholarship. The District 31 debate can be seen on you tube or you can search p.com for the debate and go to around the one hour and ten minute par
  22. At the Republican Women's Forum on June 5, 2012, Sen. Heath announced that "if given the chance" he would end the Hope Scholarship and Bright From the Start for Pre-kindergarten children, along with scholarships for people to technical schools like chattahoochee Tech. What do you think about his plan?
  23. Converse: As mei lan pointed out, under Georgia law, if you are working as an employee or subordinate of a person properly registered through the State, provided the work does not include final design decisions and is done under the supervision and responsibility of the person properly registered/licensed, then you are specifically exempted from the licensing requirement and are not "breaking the law". See Official Code of Georgia section 43-15-29. This exception does not apply to Design Specialists. Heck, Design Specialists doesn't even have a business license from Haralson County.
  24. This coming from someone who claims to be a republican but ran as a democrat for the state house a few years ago. I guess manipulation and exaggeration finds company together. You also pretended in a prior post that you didn't know who you were gong to vote for in this race yet were on heath's host committee for the event the other day. I am surprised by your defense of the claim to be a practicing engineer when you served on a state bar committee about the unauthorized practice of law. It would be like me claiming to be an economist because I have an economics degree, except the state does
  25. You are correct about "Institute" rather than "School". My mistake and apology. And I have many friends who attended and received degrees from the school. However, they don't claim to have received a degree from a university that did not exist at the time the degree was given. From what I understand, the school became recognized by the Board of Regents as a university in 1996. It would be one thing for Mr. Heath to have provided the correct name on his official biography and then state that it is now called a university. He even correctly listed the school's name in his first campaign in
