JSC
I have been getting emails from (supposedly ATT) telling me I need to update my email before dec 11. I have ignored them, then yesterday I got a phone call (recorded message) telling me the same thing. So I guess it's for real. ?? anyone else get this?
AustinPlantation
No, I would go to ATT.COM Support and click either the Live Chat or Call Us button. I wouldn't trust a phone # left in the voice mail. Also pass your mouse over links to see the actual link they are sending you to, but *** DON'T CLICK ***
Mama Carol
I have bellsouth e-mail. Nothing. Hubby has ATT e-mail. Nothing. Yahoo, which both bellsouth and AT&T go through, has been doing upgrades. Having to "update" your e-mail sounds fishy, at best.
JSC
I do have bellsouth email address. thanks everyone
Mama Carol
It really could be from AT&T wanting you to UPGRADE your service, not update your e-mail. They are very, very sneaky with their sales. I have gotten nothing from them but I no longer have AT&T phone service. And if on December 11, my e-mail goes away, I'll simply revert to one of my other accounts. It's not like it will hurt me none. I do have bellsouth email address. thanks everyone
afriendlygeek
There is some chatter I found about ATT changing mail servers. If you use an email client such as Outlook, you may need to change some settings. If you get your mail on a webpage, you will not need to make any changes.
CitizenCain
Not long ago Yahoo which is what powers AT&T's email had everyone agree to their new terms of service but that was months ago. Edited December 7, 2013 by CitizenCain
Mrs G
Maybe I need to check my BellSouth email. I look at that about 3 times a yr, if that much!!
JSC
Ok I did get on a live chat w/ATT & they did verify that email I received & it is real. It had something to do w/settings on incoming & outgoing mail if you use Outlook or Live mail . & I use both. He told me what the email should say & the settings I should have. So I done all that. So I went to my desktop, (Windows XP & outlook express) typed in www.att.com/updatesettings & att updated those settings automatic . Edited December 8, 2013 by JSC
