I will have to ask my son. He heard him talking about it today and it sort of sounded like bragging. I told my son that he shouldn't believe anything like that from someone if they are talking about it but then I look on here and find it. What do you do though? I explained to my son that it was wrong and he knows that it is.

You should instruct you son to tell someone immediately. Especially with what goes on nowadays. This kid could bring a knife or worse a gun to school. When it comes to something like this needs to be taken seriously. This kid talked about it then did it. Better safe then sorry.

With all the shootings by young people these days...I am SHOCKED that this boy bragged about this at school and nothing was said to admin. This parents child came and told her and she did nothing but tell her child that because he talked about it he wouldn't do anything. I am floored by this.

Tigermama,

That is not what I meant if you took my comment that way!

I reread what I wrote and it didn't make any sense to me either. He was first tellling me that this kid was talking about pulling a knife out (over the weekend) and getting in trouble with the cops. I told him that you can't believe everything that kids say at school (Because boys at this age do brag about things that they don't even need to be talking about) and that he needed to stay away from this kid, plus that I hoped that he wasn't becoming friends with him. Plus I told him that if the kid got in trouble with the cops that he would probably be in YDC for a few days if it actually happened. But apparently you can do this and get to go back to school with no problems. You know they just got new schedules in middle school and we haven't talked about the kids in his class yet. I'm here to say if this was my son I would have had him put in YDC.

But of course we don't know the facts abuot this situation, we just saw a report on here about it, and the stuff that comes over the scanner sometimes gets put on here wrong and people start incinuating things. God please dont' think that I'm not believing this because I am....

By the way, I am a very involved parent in my childrens lives. I know who they hang around with and do not allow them to just go to anyone's house without knowing the family first. Don't think that it doesn't scare me what goes on in some homes and with the guns that kids are getting their hands on these days. But I also have to understand as a parent that I can't keep my eye on him 24/7 (even though I wish I could) either and I can only hope that what I've taught him will give him the desire to make the right choices. And of course pray that he has angels watching over him with every step that he takes.

You are right there are no other facts except what was on the scanner and posted. I feel a whole lot better that you have clarified your post. I am thankful that you didn't take it as casually as I interpeted. I would also think that it would be a little freaky if your son discussed it with you and then you turn on the computer and there it was, plus this was an 11 yo, I am bothered by this too. Being a mom you also wonder what is going on in this childs life to make him do something like that. We try to protect our kids the best we can and this type of thing can happen anywhere. It's scary and your right this is a scary age. Thank you for the clarification!
