SO requesting DFACS. Sgt Miller enroute too. (I wonder when the frantic call from a parent with a missing child is going to come in???) I thought I heard some traffic about a missing juvenile. I was on the phone with a customer and heard very little of it. It may have been the same thing you heard, or it could have been the parent. I am not sure.
Cabe
At least the child is safe and off the streets.

S.T.A.M.P.
I have4 kids and I have NEVER lost one so I just don't get how your child can be missing and you not know. It can happen. Most of the time it is neglect, but other times it's not. I know of people who have put their little ones down for a nap, and go to the kitchen or laundry room or where-ever in the house to do some chores while they are sleeping, and then go to check on the little one, only to find he/she is gone. The little one has gone out the door to play. There have been kids who have drowned in the backyard pool because of this same scenario. I have never lost one either, but I don't want to assume neglect or stupidity on the parent without all the information. When my daughter was about 18 mos., she and I were at home by ourselves. I always kept the doors locked, because she would go out every chance she got. Well, I had one window in my dining area off the kitchen, that looked into the back yard. It was a very tall window that went from about 6 inches from the floor on up. One was missing a screen and was very easy to open. She had seen her older brother slide that window open when he wanted to talk to me from the back yard instead of coming around the side of the house to the door. This morning, I heard her walking towards the kitchen saying "poo" over and over. I came running just in time to catch her trying to go out the window to the pool. Luckily I was paying attention and had the instinct to go check on her right then. It could have turned out much differently.
WendyLeCroy
Yes, they definitely can get away sometimes. My twins used to double team me..lol One would be getting in something somewhere, while I'm getting them out of that, the other one would be trying to unlock the door. I think they made it out the door a time or two before we figured out what was going on and learned to corral them both with me while taking care of stuff.
PsychoMom
A family friend was staying at my sister's house with her children. They woke up early and went into the den to watch cartoons while everyone was getting ready for their day. Someone gave them breakfast and went to brush their teeth. Someone else was in the kitchen right next to them. It was a 5 minute time frame from when they got up and they found the 18 month old floating in the pool outside. The 18 month old and the 3 year old had made it out the backdoor, opened a locked gate, went across the yard, climbed a ladder, the baby fell in, and the 3yo went inside and told the family her brother was "swimming." She didn't understand the concept of the word "drowning" so she said the only word she could think of. Thank God he survived. He was blue and bloated that quickly. He spent time at Scottish Rite, but he survived. No permanent damage. 4 adults and 2 teenagers right there and they still wandered off that quickly. It can happen. Don't know if this child was being neglected or crafty, but a mom alone can have a child wander off in the time it takes to go to the bathroom, load a load of laundry, pull another child out of the laundry hamper, anything! I'm glad the child was found safely, and hopefully, this has a positive outcome.
