Appointment's to IBA 'skipped' In a scene that conjured nervous laughs, the Paulding Board of Commissioners efforts to move along in the agenda literally ground to a halt as no motion - even motions to table the appointments of Matt Buzzelli and Alan Shipp to the Industrial Building Authority - seemed able to pass, or in many cases, even gain a second. The Paulding Board of Commissioners met today with a work-session this morning that made up for the snow-day cancellation of the last meeting in February. The commission will meet again next Tuesday for the regular first March meeting. While there were many topics on the agenda as well as a bevy of citizens wishing to speak, the Chairman came back to a constant point of contention in his administration - litter in Paulding and had several of the county staff address this perennial issue. The Paulding Board of commissioners voted unanimously to lower the millage rate on the taxable property in the county rolling back the tax rate to compensate for increased values. The commission also did some other business including approving plans for the expansion of video surveillance on the Silver Comet Trail. Public support for that project in the wake of the savage and senseless beating of a resident on the trail in late July. Paulding County's actions to fund expansion of the Airport to make it viable for commercial use through public bonds was affirmed by the Georgia Supreme Court today. The county, which approved bonds for a runway expansion, was challenged by two residents whom many believe were proxies for the interests of Delta Airlines and HJIA, who oppose any other commercial airports in the Atlanta region.
