  1. You will have at least one stop in Europe on a Atlanta to Kuwait flight. That will give you time to get out of the aluminum tube and stretch your legs. Most flights to Europe depart Atlanta a night so you should be able to get some sleep on this leg. After your stop in Europe you will be flying during the day arriving in Kuwait at night, but due to the heat during the day in the Mid-East everything happens after the sun goes down. Unless you have been to the Mid-East be ready culture shock, I never did get use to the gold shops left wide open while the owner went off to pray. I would suggest not drinking a lot of alcohol but do drink lots of water.

  2. My dad taught me about tattoos about 50 years ago. He retired from the Navy and one day I asked him why he never got a tattoo like most other sailors? He told me his story. During WWII he was a Chief (E7) at the time the highest enlisted grade. The Navy said anyone doing the job he was doing on a aircraft carrier or battleship had to be an officer. My dad was on a destroyer, but there was a Chief on an aircraft carrier that was going to be promoted to Lieutenant JG but he had a tattoo and officers can not have tattoos. So my dad was transferred to the aircraft carrier and promoted, because he didn't have a tattoo.

  3. What I don't understand, why wouldn't a five (5) year old boy just be excited about being on an airplane. I would think he be amazed at looking out the window and seeing all the little cars and houses below.

  4. The EPA requires Atlanta to a special blend of gas because they think the air quality is bad (I take it they never lived in Los Angeles). Since hurricane Ike the refineries are operating at less than full capacity and Atlantas blended gas is not a high priority.

  5. I went out and got a couple of DTV boxes... the coupons were expiring. For some reason, I was thinking they were going to be taking the place of the antennas... wrong. With the box, I get less channels than with the antenna alone... and the picture constantly gets pixellated and cuts out. It seems that I need to go buy nice antennas, if I want to get any steady channels. For now, I've set the boxes aside and I'm hoping that something gets better before February. Anyone else having the same trouble?

    Signed,

    Frustrated & Disappointed :(

Sorry to hear that. I intalled one on the TV in our spare bedroom and it works great. The picture I get with rabbit ears is better than cable.

    5-1 Fox

  6. ....Too many people live from paycheck to paycheck. The loss of one week's pay will push them over the line...

That is exactly why the gas prices have risen so high so fast. The oil companies live from shipment to shipment. The lose of one weeks shipments (did you here about hurricane Ike) has caused a spot shortage. In a week or two everything will be back to normal (shipping on schedule) and the prices will go down.

  7. We baby sit my three year old niece, so if we have a doctor appointment she goes with us. She is very outgoing and loves to talk to everyone she comes in contact with. My last doctor visit there was no one else in the waiting room. My niece walked around he waiting room about three times and then said to my wife and I: "When is somebody going to tell me I am beautiful".

  8. Why would you let it go to foreclosure?! That to me sounds like a horrible idea. It takes forever to recover from something like that.

While I think foreclosure would be the final option, it is an option. With thousands of people in the same boat "homes being foreclosed" I don't think it will be held against you as much as it did a couple of years ago. In a couple of years when and if you decide to buy a home the fallout from a forecloser will be a slightly larger down payment (maybe 10% in lieu of 5%) and slightly higher intrest rate.

  9. Some are good, some are bad!

I don't understand the cashiers that are mean, nasty, foul trempered, and ugly. If you don't have looks you should at least have a personality.

  10. Having lived in the UK for a few years I came to really enjoy their sitcoms. The best was "Men Behaving Badly", if they were to show it in the states it would have to be on cable as it was a bit risque. However, my favorate show was one called "Have I Got News For You" a satirical quiz show about the weeks news.

One show I did not like was a soap opera called the "Eastenders", its been on the air for years and its on five nights a week. Then on the weekend they show all five episodes back to back on Saturday and Sunday.

  11. People sell cars all the time that they owe money on.

Dealers advertise we will pay off your car no matter how much you owe on it.

To sell it to a private party you are going to have to trust each other. If they give you the money, they will have to wait for you to pay off the loan and get the title. But if they give you the money they will undoubtely want to take the car. To make everything go smooth you should call the loan company get the pay off and have them get the title ready to mail or hand over to you as soon as they get the money.

  12. Little League used to be divided by age, not ability. Has that changed? When I was in Little League 45+ years ago, we had two totally awesome pitchers that routinely won big with shutouts, one-hitters, no hitters. We still played the game. After facing the pitchers 3 or 4 times, we became competitive and actually won against them. The challenge of facing them actually made us better hitters. Somehow I always thought that was the lesson.

Somehow, this attitude has pervaded society. 'Dumbing down' to the least common denominator explains many of today's issues. We are unlikely to improve if we are not challenged!

This was not a "Little League" but something called the "Youth Baseball League of New Haven (Connecticut). A "Little League" must be chartered by "Little League Inc" a sanctioning body out of Williamspost, Pennsylvania. Regular "Little League" baseball is for childern (boys and girls) between the ages 8 and 12. Normally 8, 9 and 10 year olds play at one level and 10, 11 and 12 year olds at an other level. If this boy is that good in a real "Little League" even at 9 he would have been moved up to play with the older boys.

"Little League Baseball" just held their World Series last week. A team from Hawaii beat a team from Mexico for the championship.
