Because Lesley it's now come to a point where this needs to be addressed openly, maturely, and professionally on the open board.  There are a lot of people personally affected by all of this -- and people want some sort of response other than a pulled thread. Also, don't assume that people haven't also been addressing this privately as well, just because they are also attempting to address it in this manner too.

I like the word queer. . .I got so in trouble when I was about 11 and had read a book with this word in it . . meaning strange. . I called my mother queer one day and my brother flipped. .

I am not gay, although it is my middle name , and I believe that if people are gay, they are born that way. Remember when "gay" meant happy? I don't,   but they say that is why they tagged me with the name.

 

It makes no difference to me if someone is gay, I don't judge people by their sexual preferences. I care more about who they are, not who they sleep with. That is, after all, none of my business.

My father of 70 decided two years ago that we should take back the word gay to mean Happy. He thinks it is a great word and remembers when it iwas OK to use that word. In jest he was asking me to put togehter a web site to promote the topic.

 

Don't even get me started on his use of the word rubbers ... HAHAHAHAHA
