  2. I made a thing last night that was awesomely simple and the family loved it. I saw it on a Paula Deen show last week, and it looked simple and hearty, and that it was! :D We only ate like less than half of it (2 adults, 2 kids, and a baby that eats as much as the kids! ), so we're having leftovers tonight.

Wayne's Beef Macaroni and Cheese Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

    Show: Paula's Home Cooking

    Episode: Grubfest

    1-pound box elbow macaroni

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 cups chopped green bell pepper

    2 cups chopped onion

    1 tablespoon chopped garlic

    2 pounds lean ground beef

    3 cups canned crushed tomatoes

    Salt and pepper

1 teaspoon each dried basil, ground cumin, and dried oregano

2 to 3 cups grated Cheddar

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Cook the macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside. Heat the oil in a skillet; add the peppers, onion, and garlic, and saute until soft. Add the ground beef and saute until browned. Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper, to taste, and the basil, cumin, and oregano. In a large bowl, combine the macaroni and the beef mixture. Spread this mixture into a 9 by 13-inch baking dish. Top with the cheese and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is lightly browned and bubbly.

Cook's Note: Ground turkey or chicken can be used in place of beef, if desired.

(Hint...I cooked the meat and sauce in a pan that I could put in the oven...then I just added the noodles and cheese, and baked it in the same pan. I only had to wash the noodle pot, and put the leftovers in the pan in the fridge to reheat tonight!)

    sounds good

  4. We are having leftovers and meatloaf? SO it depends on the person what they want.We have pizzia, applebbq chicken, and then meatloaf. who knows what's on the menu for tommorow. I might get a idea from here. Hopefully.

i am wanting to make meatloaf but never made if before...

  5. I am right there with you. I am already thinking about dinner also. I tried to see if anyone had a recipe for a vegetable stew with hamburger meat last week, but no one had one. I have had it before but don't remember who made it. It would be real good with some corn bread.

corn bread sounds good, dont know about veggie stew

cooked up a bunch of herb crusted chicken breast over the weekend, so tonight I will turn them into a creamed chicken over biscuits.

if i had some chicken that would be good

  6. Y'all are welcome to come over and help me rake leaves....... or clean ceiling fans. (Now that we've turned them off, they are disgusting to look at!)

Hope you get some good ideas!!!!!
