  1. Perfect for an ecard
  2. I liked this picture because it shows the distortion of the slick as it grabs for traction as the car explodes from the gate. Who is it?
  3. Ditto on the distortion of the slick. Find the bending interesting and odd.
  4. Can anyone ID this racer? Did they win and of the money Saturday night?
  5. Now this guy looks serious ... did he win any cash Saturday night ... or ... I don't know, if looks could kill
  6. Had to use this one as Paulding.com is always looking for scoops
  7. This car was in the queue when I was talking to Gene Fuller and asking him which cars were likely to win. He pointed to this one and said Johnny Hawkins (I think I got it right) had been racing there for nearly 40 years and was just as likely as anyone to win. I asked if the dragsters ... you know rail-based cars ... were going to win the money but he said, no, virtually any of the cars could end up a wining the big money, both doored and those without because the racing was 'bracketed.'
  8. Here's a shot of Ginger Floyd, whom most folks visiting Southeastern Dragway see first. A veterans of the races, she's well known in this crowd as the smiling face who takes your money at the gate.
  9. Here's a sneak shot I made out front of Higher Grounds later in the afternoon. I couldn't help but include it because of the cutie pie little girl asking whom I assume is her daddy, for something.
  10. Arriving a little late for the play, we caught (and further delayed) actors J.C. Foley and Lindsey Cole who performed in the musical Bye Bye Birdie Saturday night. From PCHS, Foley played the part of the reporter (see her cap) and Hall was "Doris McAfee"
  11. It was a pretty day and this was a pretty day on the Square ... This was one of the art items on display and this print just attracted me.
  12. Folks were visiting from the ride against cancer AKA the Fast and Furious run in the Relay for Life event. If folks want to add who is in the picture they can by just adding a comment.
  13. There were bunches and bunches of motorcyclists running around with the Relay for Life events and more... It was kind of almost odd to see one alone.
  14. This is actually a shot out of my rear view mirror. The cyclist really was on my bumper ... because we were stopped waiting for the light at 120 highway. Anyway, the shot with the road in the background looked kind of interesting.
  15. Fine artist .... and it necessary if I want to stay out of trouble with Nikki Davidson's husband to put in the word "FINE" ... shows some of her work at the Affair on the square. Ms. Davidson teaches out of her studio and also the Dallas/Paulding County Fine Arts center.
  16. Photographically, I thought it kind of interesting to have the two folks silouetted in the foreground. Probably should have gotten a little lower though and put them higher in the picture.
  17. One of the other events I ran across that wasn't even listed was the Hope UMC yard sale to support its pre-school. Caught Mike Cotra, his wife Cheryl and their two-and-a-half year old daughter Caroline out there selling. We were actually pretty luck to get this picture as Caroline was off and off trying her best to get to some dogs that were I guess, available for adoption.
  18. This is the same mid 80's Pontiac Le Mans (Gran Prix) ... that we put up a little while ago. Stock cars ... street cars ... I've seen V-6 rustbuckets run ... 'cause for most, your admission covers your entry fee as well. The reason is that they hope to stem street racing that way.
