  2. Ooo.....if you find someone, let me know. I collapsed the back corner of my bumper and I would love for it to be popped out.

Update: After some checking around, I called Hayes Freeman at Dings Paintless Dent Repair (http://www.atlantadings.com)

He rolled up at my workplace, this morning around 9am, and was gone by 10am.

The dent in those pictures above, along with two smaller 'dings' behind that, and a ding on the hood? Completely gone. :good:

It's as if they never existed. $180 (well, I also tipped him, for an awesome job, and for working out in the cold... but yeah)

Hope I'm not overstepping with this glowing recommendation, but if I am, mods please edit to say to PM me for the info.

(But if there are any PDR folks here on Pcom, I never heard from any)

Asked him about bumpers, and collapsed corners are possible, yes.

I'm sure final results and costs vary, based on severity, whether your paint is damaged, or the surface is cracked, etc... but he does give free estimates.

Worth a call, in my opinion :D

  3. not sure if it will work on yours...but I used a rubber plunger on my dent and it pulled straight out. I was shocked...but glad it worked.

Hey, I've actually done that myself, back when I was a teenager :D

It sometimes works surprisingly well, on large dents that would also just 'pop' out if you could get access to the inside. Therre's just not a plunger this small ;)

I've also seen the method where you heat the panel and then apply either dry ice, liquid co2 or other refrigerant to the center, and honestly, it's about the same there, too.

Even when those methods do work, they're usually not 100%, and you still end up with low points, eyebrows, high points, etc.

These things usually require a bit more finesse... along with the tools, skill, and patience required to get things right.

I've seen a couple skilled techs working their magic before, and it's an art form, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be better off just paying, than taking a chance on screwing it up even worse :D

  4. I know of a couple places I can go "tomorrow" but if you are an experienced PDR tech (or you know of one) interested in a Sunday afternoon job, PM me.

    Here's a couple pics:

    And one more.

It's on the roof, a few inches behind the A-pillar. ~2.75" x 2" oblong (The picture below is just about actual size, on my monitor, at least)dent2.JPG

  5. I agree that it is disturbing and if challenged will not hold up in a higher court. However, the paranoia of so many is just getting old.

I would like to see the code, personally.

I find it hard to believe any government body would single out 'church services' directly like that.

No way I could see that sort of code holding water in any real court.

Wonder how that town's officials react to birthday parties, weddings, wakes, superbowl parties, baby showers, etc...

(All of which come with the same set of 'issues' that the town seems to have here)

  6. ...

My question is should I, a white, educated male - the type who is supposed to be the guy in the cat-bird-seat - feel discriminated against?

    ...

    Sorry, Pubby.

We're that one special slice, of the people pie, for which there can be no protection.

Oh, and I've been there and done that, on the joint refund check, some years ago.

Once I discovered E-filing and direct deposit, it became a non-issue.

  7. Something just smells fishy with that whole scenario.

OK, so you know the GPS coordinates to give a demo crew... but not the street address?

There is no proof-of-ownership requirement? No, "meet me in person AT the house", before demolishing a house?

How do these sorts of transactions take place, anyhow?

    Hello, Mr. Demolition man?

I need you to please demo this house, at XX,YY coordinates.

Yes, I understand and appreciate your caution... but I definitely do own the home.

I mean, why would I have you tear down someone else's home? ( muahahaha )

Oh, sorry, that evil laugh was on the television. TURN THAT THING DOWN IN THERE!

So, how much would that be? Do you need to see the property first, to give a quote?

    No? Really?

Oh, wow... that sounds great. I'll overnight a cashier's check, right away. You'll have it on Monday.

Ok, so you'll tear it down next week? Oh, that'd be great. Thanks!

    I dunno.

My money is on, "We haven't been given all the details", on this one.

  8. I recently heard of another place that did something along those lines.

They spread it out in the paycheck over a three month period, somehow, as I recall.

ie... figuring the week's pay, and paying 1/12 less than normal, for 12 weeks, maybe?

It still sucked, but not as much as losing an entire paycheck all at once.

I think it was a choice between either that, or quite a few people being laid off.

  9. I think the guy that drives the red Chevy truck that turns right on Florence Road must have sat on one of those. How he got it in there with his head I have no idea. Must have had some of that mosquito lube stuff.

Ok, I know people say LOL a lot... but I really did. IRL.

    Funny as hell, that.

  10. The ultimate "oops, I forgot to set something out for dinner" dinner.

    Chicken tenders from Publix.

    mmmnomnomnom

Sides? I'm sure the wife and little girl had 'something'.

I was distracted by all those hot, juicy little perfectly breaded and fried chicken tenders.

    Couldn't tell ya.

  11. You are going to laugh but it is Fox news network! It plays at night and goes out all day. Very odd!

    B)

We may have Direct TV soon too! Do you like it?

We like our DirecTV a lot.

Yes, heavy rains or snows will affect it.

Honestly though... it's not as bad as the last time I had cable.

(Which also seemed to get knocked out during heavy storms, only for longer periods of time, sometimes)

  12. Night fishing. Is that what they call it, these days? B)

    Ok, ok... I'll shut up.

I have to admit, though... the first places I thought of were names of bars.

Hmmm... I don't really know anywhere really close by, myself.

Maybe someone 'helpful' will post, soon.

  13. ...but it all showed up, after the fact.

The tables were locked from writes while database repair was ongoing.

Looks like we're (dare I say it?) back to 'normal' now.

    Have a good one.
