  1. Being so desperate for a job that you will get with some program that has only to do with maximizing somebody's profit is not what you are all about. You are an American. People you work for owes you a duty other than paying you with money. In another thread I listed 7 important things that the CRT (Caux Round Table) says that businesses owe to society's citizens. You are an American citizen. The selfish spirit of commerce knows no country, but they need to know you.
  2. Even though the Civil War did free slaves, to a certain extent, freeing slaves was not the only civil condition the war was all about. Civil union is not about race. I am not a racist.
  3. The Caux Round Table was established in 1994. It has 7 important principles. 1. The responsibility of business: Beyond shareholders toward shareholders, which is ethics regarding reaction with society. 2. The economic and social impact of business: Toward innovation, justice, and world community, which is justice here and abroad. 3. Business behavior: Beyond the letter of the law toward a spirit of trust. Caveat emptor and business ethics. 4. Respect for rules 5. Support for multilateral trade. 6. Respect for the environment. and 7. Avoidance of illicit operation
  4. Gutting our ethics committee at the same time Alabama is raising funding for theirs is right here close to where I live. I have a civil right to be concerned. And, suddenly jumping straddle of a bunch of our teachers at the same time our ethics commission is being gutted, is something else I have a civil right to be concerned about.
  5. Thanks TJB, There is no one who has any more respect for teachers, and doctors, etc. etc. than myself. Sometimes I'm just sorry I said something about what was obviously in my face, however, when I saw the faces of the teachers in question. I was not attempting to play some race card, I was just reporting what I saw. When I say something about my civil rights doesn't mean I'm an African American; I am almost a full blooded Angelo Saxon (according to my DNA). Civil rights doesn't belong to African Americans any more so than civil rights belong to me. Thanks again TJB!
  6. Ask one of the Atlanta teachers who say they were just getting with the program. But, I don't have to ask a teacher. I learned it a long time ago. You just don't get with some programs no matter how much you love your job.
  7. 178 Atlanta Georgia teachers and other school employees to either resign or be fired. Resigning will take place Monday through Wednesday. By Thursday the firing will begin. I don't know of any other state where 178 teachers and other school employees who are in violation of state law that severely.
  8. In trying to do the ratio math, I think I can see why local news is not mentioning the corruption Sears was involved in, in other states. They don't want Georgians to know they will be giving public consumers lube jobs, if they get one of the possible 6,000 jobs.
  9. Georgia law enforcement entities say that Atlanta Georgia's teachers need to either resign or they will be fired. I saw their faces on TV. There may not be any unethical behavior, but every face I saw was African American. I'm just sayin. It seems to me that this is a bad time for gutting our ethics board. If we are in the process of gutting schools of their teachers.
  10. It certainly is. I totally agree with everyone who has perceived this to be bad taste. The police take it upon themselves to stop little girls from selling lemonade, while real criminals need to be dealt with. Georgia police, and other law enforcement agencies like the GBI should be warning Sears, now, that if they come to Georgia they will have to change their business tactics. I have only seen Georgia's news stations promoting support for Sears coming here with a potential of 6,000 jobs for Georgians. I have not seen either one of our news stations say anything about what I have re
  11. After being purchased by Rupert MURDOCH'S FOX broadcasting Company, channel 5 switched its affiliation from CBS to FOX. The following year the station changed its newscast to 'FOX 5 news'. The station offers viewers local weather. FOX 5 news. Sports and other FOX programming. Was there a change, in the way channel 5's news information was gathered from the onset, or is channel 5 immune from Mr. Murdoch's influence?
  12. Alabama's governor just signed a law requiring that state to give its ethics commission one-tenth of one percent of its entire state budget -- protecting it from the political whims of its legislature. What is Governor Deal doing to help our Ethics Commission? Do the whims of our legislators have any resistance regarding the way they handle Georgia's business. Maybe Governor Deal doesn't want to be bothered with Ethics.
  13. Gutting Georgia's Ethics Commission should not be one of our states activities. I think we should be funding our Ethics Commission, and use the state of Alabama's funding of theirs as an example of the funding of ours. What is you thinking in regard to our ethics, here in Georgia, these days?
  14. Does Fox 5, here in Atlanta, GA., gather its information like their 1986 creator gathers international information?
  15. Murdoch's first permanent foray into TV was in the USA, where he created Fox Broadcasting Company in 1986. Now, Fox Broadcasting Company is trying to distance themselves from their creator! Mr. Murdoch and his company are under investigation for a severe lack of ethics in the way they gather news information from police, and many other sources. Wall street may also be implicated in illegal information gathering. This is an international situation. Just like I have said before, "the selfish spirit of commerce knows no country."
  16. I certainly couldn't decide, but I would like to be in on the negotiations with some Harvard Doctors, and other experts, on the issue!
  17. We need countrymen, not commercial men. I have most of what I need. I certainly don't need any BS. I see, BS when I turn on the TV. I don't need it. I pay for my TV, and the service that connects it to the station. Smoke and mirrors, are in some of the BS I see on TV. I think that the only reason I need scrubbing bubbles it to help me take care of the BS I see. Can you relate to what I'm saying? I just turn turn off my TV and get on P.com for my entertainment.
  18. If I sign such a contract, NE, I am agreeing to pay for whatever I signed up for. It has nothing to do with the diameter of somebody's posterior. They can take me to court, but their bottom line will not be discussed, and my bottom line will be covered. Now, if they use the phrase, "The Bottom Line On The Receipt Is," I can understand the situation more clearly. But, if they are not specific enough it leads me to believe many things. I rather be dealing with a rats arse, at least the diameter might be a lot smaller.
  19. I'm not talking about raising the taxes of this country, S & D's N! I'm talking about taxing habitual behavior. If people don't do the habitual behavior, which has a negative affect on our health system, it doesn't raise their taxes, and may even lower them. Less than 1/3 of the people, in this country, would have to pay such a tax. That means more than 2/3 of the people would benefit. I agree about understanding and awareness. I try to bring about understanding and awareness, all the time, even though I have many imperfections. But, the more people who acknowledge there is a prob
  20. A working U-N-D-E-R-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G, of how we perceive things, has a enormous effect on "The Bottom Line." As information flows it takes the form of words. If you get up against somebody's bottom line they sometimes quit saying words and start humming, or hollowing. I suggest that staying away from the bottom line is the best thing to do. It's turns out, a lot of the time, to be a wast of energy, because the humming or hollowing only aggravates the actual issues.
  21. The only bottom line I can think of may be the diameter of somebody else's arse, but I don't want anything to do with it. When I am up against the bottom line I am in control of the situation.
  22. There ya go, folks; a reasonable approach to the problem. We cannot change what we don't acknowledge, nor can we start being reasonable. The only thing I will add to LPPT's reply is the cost. Taxing is the way. If counseling is necessary, the tax payers should not have to pay for it. Tax payer money needs to be used for things that are not habitual. Habitual behavior cost tax payers enough without adding to the problem. We fight drugs, like marijuana, which could be a source of tax instead of us having to pay police to fill our jails up with smokers of it. Nothing is going to cure the
  23. As long as evidence shows from Harvard Doctors, and Medical associations of all types and at many places across the country, that obesity is not healthy and can cost more money regarding health issues, something should be done. I agree that children should not be taken away, but an extra tax should be added as a determent instead of taking children away. As long as their parents pays for the extra cost of the child's healthcare, which doesn't show up sometimes until the child is an adult (and at that point the adult child pays the extra expense); they should be able to live like they wish
  24. I'll admit that some people have bigger bones. But, that can be deceiving unless you take an X-ray.
  25. I thought he always said, "The Buck Stops Here," LC!
