  1. The West Hiram Parkway is also known as Hiram Bypass.

WHP was not built to close 92 Hwy down to widen it or 4 lane it.

In the next 5 years or so we are going to have the East Hiram Parkway(Next to Catfish Den). So then no one will ever see Hiram again.

The reason the WHP is 45mph is that all County Roads are.

Paulding County is not setting up everyone to write tickets, but if they were I would join right up and praise them. To many people get killed because of speeding drivers.

  4. My mom writes poems and short stories all the time. I hope one day she will place them in a book.

Se7en> Take it to the music business. I would love to hear the music to it also.

  5. My mother wrote this for me. Sorry for being so long.

    SONGBIRD

One day my daughter came to me from her room so still,

to tell me of a thing she’d seen upon her windowsill.

She said a wild bird came to lite and looked upon her there

it cocked its head and sang a song in the late cool evening air.

“Oh, can I keep him, mama?

    He’s beautiful and sweet

And he sings such wonderful songs to me it almost makes me weep”

    “Why, honey, he’s just visiting,

    he’ll probably fly away.

Sometimes things that magical only happen once they say.”

The next day she came running,

    “He’s back again.” She said

“ His little green eyes twinkle, and his feathers are so red.”

She sprinkled food upon the sill

    and waited with her friends,

for the wild and beautiful singing bird to fly back again.

Soon they saw him in the distance

    perched high upon a limb.

He only sang a few short notes,

while they waited there for him.

    And so they called louder;

he took off in a hurried flight.

    and disappeared behind the hill.

    He didn’t come that night.

    “Oh, mama, they were laughing.

They said that I had lied

that I had made a story up.”

And then she sat and cried.

“Oh help me catch him mama,

I want to catch him soon,

And then they’ll know he came

    and sat inside my room.

I’ll put him in a little cage

    and take him everywhere;

And have him for my very own

and give him lots of care.”

“But, honey, that’s not right.” I said

he’s wild and use to being free.

    He’d die in a cage all-lonesome

if he couldn’t fly, you see.

But that was all she thought of

    every single night.

    She sat beside the windowsill

and wished with all her might.

Till one night she quit waiting

“He’s gone, “ She said to me.

    “I guess you were really right;

    He wanted to be free.

for when I caught and held him

    So he wouldn’t get away

I didn’t really like the way

his eyes looked hurt with me.

So I opened up the window

and put him on the sill.

He looked back once and flew away

to a tree upon the hill.”

There are some things that you cannot share.

    They’re meant for only you.

So if his song is what you want,

then this thing you must do.

    Just leave your window open

    and if he happens by,

don’t run and tell a single soul

for it will make him fly.

    Love is like the songbird.

It comes freely as the wind.

You cannot hold it to tightly,

    or it won’t come again.

  6. I to wish the cemetery had grass. I walked around it yesterday and was upset that it was unkept. I am going to ask the church if I may vol. to help out. Some of the plots were unseen because of the tall weeds.

My family that is burried there are my great grandparents the Steele's and Sanders. Anyone know of them?

  7. I truly am looking foward to moving. Yorkville is very quiet. The rock church is were my great-grandparents are burried. My daddy lived there during the summers when he was a child. I love Hiram, but am ready for change.

When I started this post I wanted to hear storys or facts about this community. Thanks everyone for being so funny and cheering me up about the good people that live out there. Living in the same house for 14 years and across the street from where I grew up makes it hard to move, but ya'll have helped.
