  1. West Metro Church of Christ has an awesome minister and exceptional youth program for all ages. Wee Worship during Sunday morning services for 2-4 year-olds, Bible Hour (Sunday evening during worship servies). Cool Kids for Christ (Grades 3 - 5 Youth Group) and TNBC (Teens for Nothing But Christ) Grades 6 - 12. There is a men's ministry and a women's ministry program as well. Men, Women, and Youth Retreats, Holiday Programs, etc. Loving, caring, and serving church. Hwy 92 @ Hiram-Sudie Road (The church is behind the Grands -- entrance is off Hiram-Sudie.)

  2. I, too, have heard that the February break will no longer be on the calendar. I've also heard of a possible later start date but still finished before Memorial Day. That would mean some other scheduled breaks would also have to go. I'll be interested to hear what the superintendents have to say tomorrow.

  3. I'm pretty sure that a 2007/2008 calendar hasn't been drafted yet. Probably has something to do with the logistics of opening NPMS and NPHS (9th grade) and building availability. There has been some speculation that the calendar as Paulding has known it in most recent years will be much different.

  4. I appreciate all of the replies to my request. My daughter is going to check with her boyfriend to determine if he is definitely set on a pitbull mix. Hopefully she will have some more information later this evening and we may be able to visit the shelter tomorrow.

  5. My daughter has been looking for a pitbull puppy to give to her boyfriend for Christmas . However if we cannot find one Im sure we will be interested in one of those puppies.

  6. I can tell you first hand that it isn't fun. I was at home with my three boys today all with fevers above 101. I was able to get in to see the doctor this morning. There is some type of virus going around that is lasting for four to five days -- fever, stomach ache, headache, diarrhea, sore throat. Two of the boys feel well enough (and are fever free) to return to school tomorrow. That's a great thing for my son who missed two mid-term exams today because he was ill (102.6). The youngest will be going back tomorrow as well and the middle one will be spending the day with grandma. He seems to have a more severe case than the other two. My daughter was out last week with something similar -- certainly hope she doesn't get it too.

I know that it's going around the elementary schools -- I had three students out Tuesday and sent two more home with fevers. I was out with my own children today but had called to check on the sub. I was told that they had to get a second sub in my room because the first one's child was in the clinic with a temp of 101.2. Not a great way to end the first semester that's for sure.

I hope all of you are able to remain healthy while you care for your children. Other than being exhausted from caring for sick children, I feel fine. (fingers are crossed)

  7. 1st let me say 123 I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet.

    Now let me say

    I work for a vet......

I have been a vet tech for years and any decent vet would not have said that a cat that had stoped eating and drinking, post-op or not, was ok. That is just not the right answer!

I would never use this vet again!!!!!!!!!

There are great vets out there.

Dr. Toth and Dr. Findland in Powder Springs are wonderful!

But for god sake please do not stop spaying/ neutering your pets. They will have longer, healther lives and there are too many homeless pets suffering and starving, we dont need to add to this pain any more!

So exactly how old does a cat need to be to spay?

  8. Helicopter is going over the house now. I'm just up from this area.

    Prayers for all involved.

I just came through the area after leaving the Hiram Hornets JV game at Woodland High School. It was quite a mess. We were able to get through rather quickly but the emergency vehicles were just arriving. Prayers for all --

  9. That's funny, after I finished open house for my own students at the elementary school, I took my teens to HHS to get their schedules and meet their teachers. Channel 2 was still there @ 6:40. By the time we had finished, 7:25, they were no longer parked outside the school. Seems like a long time to be at one location for a news story -- especially with it being an open house night.

  10. This is an awesome idea. We did this several years ago when we lost one of our students to CP. The bench was granite and we had it engraved with the student's name and placed it in a memorial garden, at the school, named in her honor. There is a plaque at the entrance of the the butterfly garden as well. It was a great way for us to show our respect. I would certainly participate.

  11. So many names. I have heard many of these names before. Some I have heard while cataloging the information in the Paulding County Historical Society & Museum. Other names I have heard through the research of Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic Site's land lots.

Just in case no one knows me. I work/volunteer for both.

If any one here has there family history written down or would do so, I know the Paulding County Historical Society & Museum would be honored to have such information. Every year thousands of people come to the museum to research their family history. Others do so via the web.

It is one of our most important goals, is to preserve history. By helping us preserve your families history generation after generation will be able to find their roots and discover their past.

Your private information need not be released, but simply the history of your family. The unique history that makes all families special.

We would be honored to accept a copy or original of any historical information that you may be able to provide.

    Thank you,

    Gem Man,

I am in the process of preparing the Taylor Family information. Once complete, I will be more than happy to share. I know how difficult it has been for me to get all of the pieces together to share with my children and I certainly would like to contribute for their future.
