  1. Should it have been less because she is a single mom with one income?
  2. The County Attorney is actively campaigning for a candidate. A couple of questions for everyone... 1) Do you think this is ethical? 2) Although receiving a paycheck from their place of employment. Since the county pays for the service, shouldn't they be held accountable to the same standards as county employees...if not higher?
  3. I most certainly do have a problem. This is nothing more than a candidate trying exploit a tragic event to their political advantage in order to try and gain votes. So much for Roger doing things behind the scenes and not wanting recognition for his actions. If he really cared about this event he would have paid for the ad anonymously and also placed it on his personal Facebook page. Instead, it only appears on his campaign's Facebook page. This is nothing more than a sad political stunt. But it fits right there with his reported passing out of campaign literature after someone
  4. Here is a thread from the past... http://paulding.com/forum/topic/249190-jason-anavitarte-flyers/
  5. DING DING DING...we have a winner. There have never been complaints or charges of coercion filed. Because they can't hold up. Maybe King Jerry doesn't want them made since it would have been done under his administration. What can hold up is that the statements were made and filed. Tundra's repeated ranting is clearly a PR move by that campaign team to downplay that statements were filed.
  6. So much for free. Carmichael has an expenditure listed to Paulding County Uncensored. No wonder you never answered BeachBum's requests for your proof. Obviously another of your constant false allegations.
  7. Who forced these ladies to file their complaints? Do you have any proof of this? If you don't have any proof, then everyone should use your argument of it is simply not true and a lie. Is there any paperwork to support the claim NOW that the statements were forced? If not it sounds like a PR spin by a candidate and his handlers. Over the past couple of weeks, you have been stating information that when someone calls you on it, you become like a southside Chicago boxer doing a bob and weave.
  8. Thanks for posting an article that talks of the positives occurring in Paulding County.
  9. Hilton Head, SC is no Clayton County yet they have a commercial airport. Colorado Springs is another good example. San Diego, CA has their commercial airport right in the middle of their tourist attractions, the same can be said for DFW and Love Field. There are countless examples of commercial airports in good/great communities. As Whitey states, voting for Leggett is the same as voting for a return to the Good Ole Boys and King Jerry.
  10. As much as Whitey screams about taxes I am surprised he isn't up in arms about the proposed Tax INCREASE.
  11. If you look at page 2 (page 6 of 53 in the pdf) of the current proposed budget from Chairman Austin you will see the proposed rollback rate of 6.188. Remember, Chairman Austin does not want to raise the taxes, it rest squarely on the shoulders of the 4 Post Commissioners. I believe the language is set by Georgia law, so I wouldn't be so fast to jump on the county. I have also heard that we may be seeing a bond referendum in Nov. for a new jail. Maybe this is an attempt by the 4 to sabotage the bond efforts for the much needed new jail.
  12. You sound like a Bernie democrat who supports his damn wealth distribution notion. You want something someone else has, yet you aren't willing to do the work to get it yourself. Just because GD has something you may want he is under no obligation to give it to you or show it to you. If you want them so badly, do it yourself. Stop looking for a handout.
  13. Page 7 of the July 7, Dallas New Era edition... "NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE" "The Paulding County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 5.04% (percentage increase over the rollback rate) for the M&O (maintenance and operations). There is a proposed 1.71% decrease in property taxes (over the rollback rate) for Bond."
  14. You are the one who can't back up your claims made in this thread.
  15. If true, it would have been greater than 3 years ago and as a result, based on your "protocol" reasoning the records should have been destroyed...meaning it didn't happen.
  16. Tundra, You are down right comical. You are the one who brought this up in the beginning. Whitey started a thread about getting a round-table discussion going and you responded with something totally out of the blue. So I wouldn't call it an Austin tactic, I would call it a Tundra tactic. BTW, how is it coming on backing up your statements that Beach Bum called you out on for being false? I haven't seen you respond to those at all.
  17. I have watched it. Commissioner Collett specifically says "The TAX INCREASE we are talking about" He then goes on to try and justify the TAX INCREASE. This week the Dallas New Era should have an official notice that read something like this... "The Paulding County Board of Commission has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes." Spin it however you want, it is a TAX INCREASE!!!
  18. Pubby, Any luck getting a roundtable discussion organized? After all, that is what this thread was originally asking.
  19. You must be talking to Tundra. She has yet to back up her alleged mistruths and distorted information.
  20. Sounds as if someone thinks they are entitled to something. Mrs. Howard if you check the history of this post you will note that Tundra brought it all up. Your questions and statements should be aimed at her since she obviously knows something.
  21. The Paulding County Board of Commission has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes. The official notice will be published in the July 7th edition of the Dallas New Era. This all occurred at the June 28th BOC meeting after Post 2 Commissioner Todd Pownall and Post 3 Commissioner Vernon Collett brought it up for discussion to add the proposal to the agenda for a vote. ALL 4 Post Commissioners, the same ones Roger Leggett claims he will work so well with, voted in favor of the Proposed Property Tax Increase. Apparently, they find it easier to
  22. Were they proven to be false? Were there actual accusations or simply statements? A lot of statements are opinions, and opinions are never right or wrong, they are simply someone's thoughts. Heaven forbid we become a society where we don't welcome everyone's opinion. We live in a democracy for crying out loud, it is fundamentally wrong to try and silence thoughts and ideas. Btw, this is just my opinion.
