  1. I received a request for a bid on a Captain D's in Rockmart. Rockmart starting to remind me a little of Hiram 15 years ago as far as growth goes. Not on as large a scale but things have been stagnant there for years. Wally World usually sparks growth but it took time in Rockmart. Maybe partially due to the 2008 bubble burst.

  2. I assume that "private business" uses public roads and utilities, partially paid for by local residents as well as fire and police departments, also supported by local tax dollars; some which are paid by gay people. Therfore, that private business isn't quite as private as it seems and needs to serve all people. What's next, a hospital refusing to take care of gays and minorities?

OK? SSTREEEEETTCH that a little more.

I didn't make the rules that's just how it works.

  3. It has already been stated (numerous times). If you do not like the policy do not do business with them. If there are no public funds involved the owner has the right to hire, fire, refuse service, change business hours, set the price for services, etc. As long as the owner does not violate labor laws (and certain health codes, etc.) he can run his business as he damn well pleases. Liberals really need to grow up, go to work, quit relying on big brother (Feds) to bail them out, get off the federal teat and quit worrying about what everybody else is doing. I have enough on my plate creating jobs and being productive to worry about a damn cake maker or whatever.

  4. While I have not seen Reed in years I knew him as a teen ager/young man. His father was the pastor at Dallas Church of God and one of the finest gospel preachers I have ever sat under. Reed played drums and his sister played the organ at the church. May god send his comforting angels to the Wiley family. Diane you have our sympathies and are in our prayers.

  5. My SIL is juvenile diabetic Type 1. She produces no insulin. I feel for you and understand. She is 41 yo and was diagnosed at 10. I have seen her struggle for years and it is not easy. She has a really good doctor and I could probably find out the details and PM you if you have the need. Hang in there.

  6. The most over charged case I have seen a conviction on in some time. Aggravated assault usually stems from physical contact like a fight or strong arm robbery, etc. Yes there are other criteria so don't quote me GA law. I am saying "usually" involves physical contact. Calling a bunch of dumbasses a gang is a far reach too. The woman received six years for riding in a truck and yelling out the window. This is a case of grandstanding to a growing black constituency by a politically motivated court/police department. I am not defending these dumbasses because that is just what they are dumbasses. I am saying they were way over charged for political reasons. They should be charged and they should have to pay for their stupidity but this judge is out of control. You may not agree with me and that is fine but wait until your child/grandchild does something stupid and gets their lives ruined by an over zealous prosecution system. In my life I have been called a cracker, red neck, hillbilly, hick and much worse. I handled these situations without ruining other peoples lives and went about my life.

  7. Mr. Hulsey was my neighbor when he lived in Hulseytown. When I built my current house in 1994 he was one of the first neighbors to stop by and welcome me. They were only a hand full of us then. He was a hard working man and suffered great loss of family over the years. He was never anything short of a kind gentleman to me. RIP Mr. Hulsey go rest under the shade of the trees my good neighbor.

  8. Around 1992 I was working for a contractor that did temporary power for the Pepsi Senior Challenge at Horseshoe Bend CC. We were at near the practice tees and the first hole tee box working on a disconnect. A helicopter started circling around and getting lower and lower. It finally set down on the first tee box and began to rotor down. A man got out of the back and came around to the side we were nearest. Someone in the back of the chopper started unloading golf bags and handing them to the first guy. Then the front door opened and there was no doubt who was strapped in at the controls, Arnold Palmer. He unstrapped reached in and shook the co-pilots hand (probably the pilot because the machine had dual controls even though Arnie was a licensed rotary wing pilot). He walked directly in our direction smiled and said good morning guys how is the weather looking I stuttered lots of sunshine Mr. Palmer. He smiled and said thanks and have a good day. Now that's an entrance. I will always remember that moment.

  10. Labor unions only represent 11.1 percent of the work force. I know we all need a bogeyman to blame all our problems but I'm afraid in this case you are barking up the wrong tree.

" The union membership rate—the percent of wage and salary workers who were members of unions— was 11.1 percent in 2015, unchanged from 2014, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The number of wage and salary workers belonging to unions, at 14.8 million in 2015, was little different from 2014."

    http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/union2.pdf

They represent 11%-12% nationally but in the blue states they represent a much higher percentage. Those liberal states represent a much higher percentage of the delegate vote than the states that are anti union. Mostly because of the free ride they get from the unions. You cannot fire one if these sorry ass SOB's if they eat infants and crap Ebola so naturally they are going to vote the way the Union says. You are in way over your head on this one Skippy. How long have you been in the work force? How many unions have you been a member of? How many people do you employ? WTH does anyone have to be a member of the Bakers and Confectioners Union? WTH does there have to be a postal Union? Are we running out of government funded jobs? Most unions are public sector jobs. WTH does a govt. job need a damn union? There is a reason the unions only have 12% of the jobs. Because they have destroyed the other percentages they use to have by extorting the membership and driving the companies that pay them out of business. You leftist damn commies don't understand. IF THE COMPANY DOES NOT MAKE A PROFIT THEN THERE ARE NO JOBS, UNION OR OTHERWISE.

  11. GD White Men in Ivory Towers is not a racist term in Pubby's mind. Racism only applies to the white mans oppression of every other race on earth. A non-white cannot be a racist under their definition. What it represents is another manifestation of their deep seated wealth envy. It oozes from the left. The hypocrisy , no stupidity of it all is that the lefts icons are just as rich as the big bad conservative capitalists they detest. The 1% is comprised of just as many liberals as conservatives. Democratic leaders, the media, industry and Hollywood are full of very rich liberals who put down capitalism while making millions off of the very system they seem to detest. You are right the only way to right the ship is to cut wasteful government spending, decrease the deficit (which strengthens the dollar), lower taxes on business and eliminate labor unions across the board. If you eliminate organized labor the manufacturing will slowly return to the U.S. Pretty much all the auto plants that have opened and created new jobs in this country in the last 20 years are non union. They pay what the market demands. Good wages, good benefits, steady work, many outsourced small business partners, no dues, no assets, no strikes, very productive plants. There are labor laws that did not exist when these unions were formed that duplicate the purpose of organizing. Organized labor is nothing but a political action committee for the left. They basically serve no purpose except to extort from their members and pass it on to the politicians that keep them in existence. They fleece the flock

  12. I will be hiring 1-2 new employees in the next month. Electrical contracting work. Experience a plus but not required. Drug free, reliable transportation, good work ethics required. Starting pay based on experience. Projects are generally on the West/NW side of Georgia. Please PM me do not post any questions. Thanks.

  13.

I stated this on different post. Georgia's education system ranks from 14th to 34th in the nation depending on the source. The reason it ranks so high on some polls are the private schools in NE Atlanta/Gwinnett and Cobb that raise the rest of the pitiful guberment schools averages. On a public school poll we are very near the bottom. Out of every source I have checked, probably 10-15, Paulding County schools do not rate in the top 100 in the State. Grady HS, listen close, Grady HS, where they hire extra COA Police for a football game/event to control gang violence, ranks around 80th in the state. 'Nuff said. Not confident in any incumbent. Don't tell me about school tax Skippy I pay out the wazoo with little results and no kids in the system. VOTE NO ON SPLOST RENEWAL. VOTE OUT

Local school districts have no control over the curriculum and how the systems are ranked.....Skippy. We all pay high taxes. They'd be higher if it weren't for the current board. The numbers are published and public record.

All right numb nuts please enlighten me on WTF the School Board controls? The budget? That is my point. Why are we underperforming? To meet a bean counters spreadsheet? I want results for my investment, not micro managing failures. If our BOE does nothing but control the budget, save money hire a CPA.
