Pubby-You are totally correct. Per my comments this morning Delta's injection into Paulding's airport expansion (a local matter) is the equivalent of us announcing an electric car manufacturer (a small customer market and not really competition with the automotive industry) will open a 100 person manufacturing facility in Dallas and Ford Motor Company having its team of lawyers descend on Paulding to try and stop it. Whether you support or oppose the airport this is a local matter that should be handled by our airport authority, county commissioners and residents not a corporation that does n

Sunset Boulevard and It's a Wonderful Life are two my all time favorite films they just happen to be black and white.

There will be no lawsuits from either.

All anyone needs to do to understand why there was such secrecy involved with this decision is look at the IMMEDIATE REACTION from Delta and the City of Atlanta. Had those two groups been aware of the project it would have been immediately derailed by them. With a year of work going into this they have little to no chance of thwarting it. That is why it was kept quiet.

Within three miles of both Westchester County Airport in New York and Greenville Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina are some of the highest priced subdivisions in those states. These subdivisions were all built after the airport not before. In Westchester subdivisions are located just off the runway and many are within a mile or two of the runway. https://maps.google....ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg In Greenville there are multi million dollar homes at Thornblade, one of thehighest end residential communities in Greenville, SC that are less than 3 miles from Greenville Spartanbur

Let's provide some perspective to this post. I contacted Tundra to volunteer PCED's assistance with any of the business issues she had written about in previous posts. We have provided assistance to a number of companies such as Certified DEF, Interroll, Ronchi, Simmons Engineering and Top Flight Aerostructures. When a company is upset with doing business in Paulding it would be irresponsible for PCED not to reach out to them and try to make the situation better. I asked someone which stucco company Tundra was with and was told the company and Tundra's name. I then reached out to someone Tundr

Brent Sparks who is not on the Airport Authority and was the organizer of the Airshow was in Hong Kong because as a pilot it is his job to fly planes there and does so several times a month. Mayors Austin and Devey were at municipal meetings outside the county and Carolyn Wright of the chamber has been sick for over a week. She was not in the office Monday, Tuesday or today.

There is plenty of water available. We have over 20 million gallons of water per day allocated with usage of just under 9 million gallons per day which leaves over 11 million gallons per day. Most industrial users are less than 15,000 gallons per day unless they are a food processer. For aerospace or manufacturers water availability is excellent and better than most northwest Georgia counties.

I was at the meeting. There was a discussion from Tom Cable and Calvin Thompson regarding the rules for speaking at the authority meetings. I never heard anyone on the airport authority board or their representatives say anything during the course of the meeting close to what was posted. I did not hear any of the individual interviews with reporters following the meeting so I have no idea if it was said at that time but I'm 99% certain it was never said to the audience during the meeting.

Commission confronts issues of trust and secrecy

Surepip: In regards to the airport Ronchi specifically cited it as an asset that will be important to some of their customers who will be able to fly in and see their machines. Also, we are close to finalizing a project that would be one of Paulding's largest manufacturer. The owner of the company is a pilot and the proximity of an airport to sites he is considering is was one of several considerations. The opportunity for him to fly to Paulding and store his plane at the airport is one of several advantages of our location. Finally, the group I previously mentioned that likes the Paulding Com -

You're exactly right with how the process works. Here is what has been advertised on our Facebook Page and at the Paulding Air Show. https://www.facebook...94624838&type=1 In fact, the tent in which we were located had on the side a JOBS, JOBS, JOBS sign. Additionally, the jobs have been listed with the Georgia Department of Labor and the department was asked to forward county residents looking for these types of jobs to the companies which was done. I personally have sent at least a dozen resumes to these companies from county residents interested in working for these employers. T -
Paulding Economic Development Summit video
Jamie Gilbert replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Thanks Laurie! We are accomplishing many of the economic development goals we established for Paulding in early 2011 and are ahead of schedule. We still have a ways to go but as I said on Thursday we are building a team that will be winning a lot of economic development championships in the future. We beat the competition (Cobb, Fulton, Douglas and Bartow Counties, and several out of state locations) for Interroll, Ronchi and Certified DEF. Very soon we could be landing a manufacturer that would be the largest in Paulding. Per your post, the gentlemen you are referring to is Matthew P -
Let's talk about wasteful and extravagant spending
Jamie Gilbert replied to LPPT's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Good morning. I'm Jamie Gilbert, the Executive Director of Paulding County Economic Development. LPPT emailed me this morning regarding the discussion she was having on economic development and new jobs. Every one of the announced jobs was determined by the company as part of their plans for expansion or move to Paulding County. The jobs are to be added either immediately or within a two to three year window based on whether new construction is needed or a ramp up in employment. I have personally visited and walked through the faciliies of every company Laurie listed with the exception of ADI.
