  1. The Paulding Literacy Council is sponsoring a large book sale at the Holly Cross Lutheran Church, 76 Seaboard St., Hiram. The sale is in progress and will end at 4 PM today.
  2. The teachers assigned to the Cobb/Paulding Adult Education Program will be teaching the GED and ESL classes. The classes are free.
  3. GED and ESL classes start 6 and 7 August, but only for students currently registered for this quarter. Registration starts 13 August for people who want to attend the next quarter. Classes will be held in the Old Dallas Court House on the 3rd floor. email - pauldingadulted@gmail.com

  5. I have never heard of a K-707 tanker? Is this the old KC-135?
  6. I recently had our septic pumped, after 16 years. It is fine now. The cost for pumping was $325.

  9. I have gone through 3 flat bed scanners and have scanned many documents, pictures and 35mm slides. I also have a small portable scanner to take on trips, and to meetings. My third scanner is part of an all-in-one printer. With this you can put in a stack of items to scan, and let it feed and scan them. To start with I suggest getting a scanner for the most likely uses you have.

  12. The Paulding Literacy Council (PLC) will have a booth selling some typical yard sale items along with plants and books, from 8am to 3 pm. The income will support PAULDING READS! - A Tutoring process to help adults improve their reading capabilities.

  14. Right now we are trying to deal with adults, but call the number, they may have a suggestion. The CLCP web site is in work. Call the phone number, I am sure something can be worked out.

Volunteers receive training and assistance. Paulding Reads is part of the Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) which is growing in Paulding County. A CLCP web site will be available soon.
