  1. Civil war historian, Shelby Foote, said that Forrest was one of two true geniuses of the Civil War.The other was Abraham Lincoln. I demolished Mrnn's argument about education yesterday. Notes: the word "demolished" may mean different things to different people
  2. Sorry, we play golf. (but it does resemble putt putt, a lot )
  3. I almost would like to see that. "I have been libeled, this thread is about me. I am the one with a don't care attitude." "No, this is about me, I have a worse don't care attitude than you do!" "You're both wrong, I am the one who is being libeled, I haven't smiled in 10 yrs and I have never cared about our customers." Close, but not quite there. ETA, and smile when you type that
  4. You mean that we aren't good? Say it ain't so Joe.
  5. I would hesitate to use the word beat in describing anyone's score. We ended up one stroke apart, with some very liberal interpretation of the rules and scoring, for both of us. Bottom line, fun was had by all and enough golf balls were lost to keep the golf ball manufacturers in business.
  6. You can be conservative, a liberal, a Republican, a Democrat, a southerner, a northerner, a Baptist, a Catholic, any religion or an atheist, educated or not, male or female, rich or poor. None of that matters when it comes to chasing that little white ball around a golf course. It is as an equal opportunity event as it gets. (sadly )
  7. Like I said, I thought she was gone, I haven't had to deal with her for a long time.
  8. I'm with Zorro on this one, some people notice grammer, some notice if clothes match, I notice low riding pants. Which started in prisons.
  9. I seriously don't think I have ever seen her smile or say please or thank you. Not once. Kinda sad in a way.
  10. Trust me, she isn't here illegally, I am sure she is a home grown Paulding girl. So you know who I am talking about, cute girl if she didn't have so much attitude of, "This would be good job if it wasn't for all these customers."
  11. Yep, that was what I was thinking of. (been stuck in my head for hours) (lots of space for it to bounce around)
  12. Well, since I haven't actually been involved with Delta or a commissioner as a troll/lackey/patsy, I can honestly say I haven't learned anything. I did meet with Blake Swafford a few weeks ago and he answered some of my questions about the airport, just general questions, nothing exciting. We really didn't get into the commercialization stuff. I guess what I learned is, that we have an airport, it ain't doing so hot and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. Why is that? Many reasons, in my opinion. All I know is that this troll/lackey/patsy job isn't living up to it's highfaluti
  13. Funny, I posted this elsewhere before I ever started reading this thread. Yes, the pants thing really really bugs me. As far as Nathan Bedford Forrest goes, well, most people have no clue as to what the man was really about. Here is a copy of a speech he made to an organization of black people that promoted racial reconciliation in 1875. Do these words sound like they come from a racist? "Ladies and Gentlemen I accept the flowers as a memento of reconciliation between the white and colored races of the southern states. I accept it more particularly as it comes from
  14. Apparently I am a troll/lackey/patsy for Delta and one of our local commissioners. All I know for sure is, if someone don't start sending me some shekels soon, I'm quoting. ETA Quitting not quoting.
  15. Sadly, there is a lot of truth in that statement. Lately I seem to be running into a lot of people that I am having issues with. Whenever I start having problems with everyone I come into contact with, I have to take a look at the common denominator, me. I hate it when I have to do that.
  16. I have no idea who either of these ladies are, but I am always looking for a good excuse for my bad habits.
  17. I wish I could try one, but someone recently said "to never take food advice from here again".
  18. Ever since 2010 I have used the dry cleaners in the Kroger shopping center on Ridge Road. There has been a young girl working there for most, if not all, that time. I have never seen this girl smile, not once. I have never seen this girl show any kind of understanding of what customer service is. I have seen her stand there, playing with her phone, while I waited for her to help me. I guess if I were forced to say, she has the personality of a dead fish. A couple of years ago I showed up one Saturday about 10 minutes before closing. I was dropping off not picking up. There was a la
  19. I must have some of the healthiest skin, hair and nails around.
  20. I think this is something I really need to read. I'll do it later.
  21. My mother makes a homemade chocolate cake and I have had so many people tell me it is the best chocolate cake they have ever ate.Strangely enough, while I like it fine, I have never thought it was that great. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat my share and yours too, but I don't even think it is the best cake she makes. The best cake she makes is a Lady Baltimore cake. (perhaps the best Lady Baltimore cake any one makes) The wife makes a killer carrot cake from scratch, and I don't like carrot cake, but her's is so moist and so good. Mmmmmmm But she only makes it for other people.
  22. Strange, that sounds a lot like what my liberal, socialist wife said, when I told her to make me some stew. (ok, she said a few other words....but I can't repeat them, cause I don't type like that)
