  1. Oh, I am THRILLED to hear Callie's got a Furever Home!!! Such a beauty, what a love bug!! She was one of my many contenders!! I'll have to tell my Addie (MJ) and Olivia (Oreo)!! :D :D :D Can I come visit too? God, wouldn't it be funny to have a Kitty Reunion.....I'll bring my blender. And some Catnip for the Kitties.

  2. I would so love to see a Borders or Barnes and Noble here!

Oh I agree with you 1000%!! I do most if not all of my normal shopping in Paulding. It's not just to support our county, but the convenience factor. And I save gas & time. I haven't been to the Arbor Place Mall in over a year. I don't need to go really, because we have Super Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl's, PetSmart, Home Depot, Rack Room Shoes....Sears appliances at K-Mart......I just wish the Linens & Things could have stayed open, I loved that place. Great for gifts and home decor stuff.

  3. Have any of you ever considered Home Schooling your Little Darlins' ? It's good for the environment. Less cars on the road. Less traffic in the morning. I could get to work faster. Just a thought. :)

  4. NOOOOOOO!!! DON'T SEND THEM BACK TO SCHOOL, IT'S TOO EARLY!!! LET THEM STAY ON VACATION EVEN LONGER!!!!

Sorry. I don't have kids. I just love how light the traffic is in the mornings when school's closed. :)

  5. My two best friends both have dogs, and there's several people at work who have dogs and cats too. Do you all make official flyers? I'd like to post a couple at work on the breakroom bulletin boards. I'm going to tell people about this, this sounds cool. So, if you have a cat instead of a dog, can you walk a Shelter Dog?

  6. 92 at Due West Road, which is at a curve and a subdivision entrance...many accidents. The blinking light slows noone down.

Are you talking about Kennesaw Due West and 92? It's miserable sometimes to try and make a left turn onto 92 from KDW. And they badly badly need a deer warning sign in that area too. One day on the way home, 3 deer crossed in front of me. Fortunately I'm a Granny Driver and was already going slow.

I don't know if this is Cobb or Paulding County, but the Lost Mountain Road (I'm awful at highway numbers) and Kennesaw Due West intersection really needs left turn lights, all directions. I feel so bad when I have to back up traffic trying to make a left turn at KDW and Lost Mountain, on my way to Dallas Highway. Sometimes it gets so back up behind me I just give up and go on down to the end of KDW.....then I have to try to make a left turn onto 92....I'm not going to tell any of you what kind of car I drive...but I do know a lot of my Fellow Paulding County Citizens like to tell me I'm #1......at least I think that's what that hand signal means.... :angry2:

AND.....Dallas Hwy and Macland, needs a left turn signal (turning left onto Macland going toward Dallas.....I'm awful at that whole North South East West thing  ) There's a lot of times (especially dark rainy mornings) when I want off Dallas Hwy as soon as possible and want to cut thru Macland to Bobo to whatchamacallit road to East Paulding to get to 92 to get to Kennesaw Due West....

  7. My dog is OK. It is the cat which has a real problem with scaly skin. Always licking, scratching. Any suggestions or help would be great.

Is your cat an older adult, spayed female? Both cats I had prior to my new PC Shelter Babies, Addie (Shelter name MJ) and Olivia (Shelter name Oreo) were spayed females, and when they hit around the senior stage of life (around 7 years old) they both developed awful itching and sometimes hot spots. My vets (different for each cat) said that spayed females develop skin/fur problems, partially due to hormone issues related to the spaying. Diet, I believe, could also be a factor. My Daisy seemed to have some skin allergies related to chicken, and when I changed to salmon (I had to revert back to chicken when she was diagnosed with her eventually fatal Chronic Renal Failure. I had to put her to sleep Nov 21st, at age 17+) her skin & fur were fine. Daisy's fur (and stomach issues) were much better overall when I switched to a kibble with no artificial colors or flavors (prior to the kidney disease, Purina One Salmon.) Corn products in kibble may cause allergies too, from what I've read. Right now Addie & Olivia are still on Science Diet Kibble, from the PC Shelter (that's the brand of kibble the PC Shelter feeds.) They have just gorgeous coats. I plan to keep them either on Science Diet, or IAMS new all-natural kibble that has no wheat gluten (which was the problem ingredient from China, I believe.)

If your cat is older, and you see an increase in the litter box and how much water he or she is drinking, please go take your kitty to the vet and have her tested for hyperthyroidism. Daisy had that (did very well with Radioiodine treatment at RadioCat in Marietta) and one of the major symptoms was skin and fur problems, greasy coat, etc.

Sorry. You were probably hoping for a short answer.

  8. Thank you GaCat. :good: got it now. I kept trying to edit photo w/ Kodak, I forgot all about Photobucket :pardon:

Glad you like it. What a cutie!! Off topic, but....I have a Kodak camera and do my initial editing on that after downloading pics off my camera. Google has a free photo editing/storage program called Picasa, which is user friendly and I like very much. I put photos in the My Pictures section of my computer and Picasa picks them up and adds them to your "library." If you have a Google account (gmail) then you can download the Picasa. :)

  9. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Bud

*somebody edit his pic please, i give up. it's to dark

I'm not on my home computer, I'm in Hiawassee at my aunt's. I tried to download it and just edit on photobucket, so I don't know if this will turn out decent or not. If I get the chance after I get back to Hiram I can try my Picasa program.

  10. Although I'm sorry you are missing your babies, I'm so thrilled they have filled your aching heart!

Thank you so much for considering 2 adults.

    Best Wishes and Merry XMas!

    :)

(((Thought I'd give you some great news ... Indi was adopted today!)))

Did he get to stay with Emma? I'm so glad he found home, he's a great cat! And so is Emma, such a sweetie.

  11. Let me reassure you, the PC Shelter would be a good place for him. The 2 adult cats I adopted this weekend were very well cared for, socialized and litterboxed trained, and have soft beautiful coats. It's sad to think of him in the shelter but he will be safe, fed, warm and cared for.
