  1. Uh, that'll probably put you about 500th in line. Now, if you meant 7:00 pm, as in *tonight*, you might have a shot at one. :p

    SO, just for grins, a store has 5 or 10 of these 'sale' items , yet hundreds of people flock to the store , campout,whatever the y do...the first 10 people in line rush to the computer section and grab these 'bargains....what do the other 490 people do ?!?!?....too funny .....marketing , marketing, marketing...yet people fall for these gimmicks... :p :p unreal.

  2. There was never any question of his guilt. The same cameras you mention caught all of his actions on tape, and he never denied he was guilty of killing the people at the courthouse.

    There was also no denying that he killed the agent hours after he escaped the carnage at the courthouse.

    The question was whether he was guilty of killing those people just because he wanted what he wanted, or if he was less than completely guilty of killing them because he had a mental defect that prevented him from understanding that he was killing innocent people to advance his own desires.

    Thankfully, the jury didn't buy his line of bull and decided he did what he did fully knowing as he was doing it.

    And I'm thankful they did.

    Regardless of if he killed because he ' wanted what he wanted" ..(BTW...WTF..!!! that's some real educational deduction), the SOB killed many people , in cold blood, BECAUSE that is what he chose to do..... I was surprised ,after years of bs and wasteful tax dollars, the the jury found him guilty so quickly. Now, let's see how much time and money he wastes through the appeal process. Certainly is nice to be a criminal in our justice system. Guess that's why everyone wants to come here.

  3. People do not understand that it is congress that runs this country.

    The president can only do so much. The rest he has to have congressional approval.

    Since the DEMS have been in, we've been on a downward spiral, I see no relief for the future.

    Have you ever heard of 'Executive Order' ..?? Read below ...no Congress involved ,AND . no provision in the Constitution that makes it legal ;)

    U.S. Presidents have issued executive orders since 1789. Although there is no Constitutional provision or statute that explicitly permits executive orders, there is a vague grant of "executive power" given in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution and the statement "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" in Article II, Section 3. Most executive orders are orders issued by the President to US executive officers to help direct their operation, the result of failing to comply being removal from office.

  4. More intresting reading. ;)

    I love economics. :D

    It seems we have such short memories.......... George Bush

    > has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six years,

    > the economy was fine. A little over one year ago:

    > 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2-1/2 year

    > high;

    > 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

    > 3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%;

    > 4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +;

    > 5) American's were buying new cars, taking

    > cruises, vacations o'seas, living large!... But

    > American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they

    > voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got

    > 'CHANGE' all right!....

    > 1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;

    > 2) Gasoline is near $4 a gallon &

    > climbing!;

    > 3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);

    > 4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by

    > $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;

    > 5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

    > 6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another

    > low~~11,300--$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR

    > STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

    >

    > YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE AS

    > HELL GOT IT!!!....NOW 'BO', the DEM'S CANDIDATE

    > FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE

    > MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US

    > CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK

    > YOU CAN STAND???.....

    Interesting ...so ya' think it's all the Democrats fault ? You are probably correc t in your assumption because we had no leadership for the past 7 + years ..... so somebody had to step up ..... certainly Bush and Cheney didn't. By the way is Cheney dead ? He has disappeared off the face of this earth .... but , no great loss ..... the world is a better place! :p

  5. Yes...and AIG's recent reckless stint a very good example of how the rich, with a recent payment of $240 Billion dollars of 'all taxpayers' money will be handled in this fantastic bailout plan ..........The rich pay taxes just like everyone else. Another excellent example of good economical sense is the golden parachutes they get , or give themselves, and the middle guy pays for it ......but, somehow no one 'gets it'. No McCain, not Obama ...they only tell you what they want you to hear. Not one of them will stand behind their promise(s) .... they can't ..it's impossible for one administration to 'fix' this country in 4 years. it only took over 250 years to get where we are today ;)

  6. Report: U.S. spied on Americans' intimate conversations abroad

    WASHINGTON (CNN) - Congress is looking into allegations that National Security Agency linguists have been eavesdropping on Americans abroad.

    The congressional oversight committees said Thursday that the Americans targeted included military officers in Iraq who called friends and family in the United States.

    The allegations were made by two former military intercept operators on a television news report Thursday evening.

    A terrorist surveillance program instituted by the Bush administration allows the intelligence community to monitor phone calls between the United States and overseas without a court order -- as long as one party to the call is a terror suspect.

    Adrienne Kinne, a former U.S. Army Reserves Arab linguist, told ABC News the NSA was listening to the phone calls of U.S. military officers, journalists and aid workers overseas who were talking about "personal, private things with Americans who are not in any way, shape or form associated with anything to do with terrorism."

    David Murfee Faulk, a former U.S. Navy Arab linguist, said in the news report that he and his colleagues were listening to the conversations of military officers in Iraq who were talking with their spouses or girlfriends in the United States.

    According to Faulk, they would often share the contents of some of the more salacious calls stored on their computers, listening to what he called "phone sex" and "pillow talk."

    Both Kinne and Faulk worked at the NSA listening facility at Fort Gordon, Georgia. They told ABC that when linguists complained to supervisors about eavesdropping on personal conversations, they were ordered to continue transcribing the calls.

    NSA spokeswoman Judith Emmel said the agency's Inspector General has investigated some of the allegations and found them "unsubstantiated." Other accusations are still being looked at, she said.

    The NSA operates in "strict accordance with U.S. laws and regulations," she said. "Any allegation of wrongdoing by employees is thoroughly investigated" and if misconduct is discovered, "we take swift and certain remedial action."

    CIA Director Mike Hayden, who was the head of the NSA when the terrorist surveillance program began, has always maintained that private conversations of Americans are not intercepted and if it should happen inadvertently, the name is removed from the record.

    "At NSA, the law was followed assiduously," said Hayden's spokesman, Mark Mansfeld. "The notion that Gen. Hayden sanctioned or tolerated illegalities of any sort is ridiculous on its face."

    Author Jim Bamford was the first to interview the two former NSA linguists for his new book, "The Shadow Factory," which will be published next week. Bamford told CNN the accounts from the whistle-blowers demonstrate the NSA was listening to the private conversations of Americans, transcribing them and keeping them.

    "They don't delete them," he said.

    Bamford has written two other books on the NSA and was a party to an unsuccessful ACLU lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Terrorist Surveillance Program.

    The ACLU issued a statement on Thursday saying the allegations show that the government "misled the American public about the scope of its surveillance activities."

    The ABC report "is an indictment not only of the Bush administration, but of all of those political leaders, Democratic and Republican, who have been saying that the executive branch can be trusted with surveillance powers that are essentially unchecked," said ACLU official Jamell Jaffer.

    Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-West Virginia, called the allegations "extremely disturbing."

    "Anytime there is an allegation regarding abuse of the privacy and civil liberties of Americans, it is a very serious matter," said Rockefeller, adding that his committee is prepared to take whatever action is necessary to ensure the government is following the strict procedures to protect U.S. citizens against unwarranted surveillance.

    A House Intelligence Committee spokesman said the panel has been in contact with the NSA and is awaiting the agency's response.

  7. I hope he's not this STUPID! This will just reinforce these homeowners into more of this bad behavior! You will never have responsible people, if you reward them for irresponsible behavior! I believe this applies both to Main Street and to Wall Street.

    Really...... I want my name on that list ...... heck , if I'm going to pay for someone else's reckless behavior I sure as hell want something in return ..... The 'irresponsible' have always been rewarded in this country....it's a shame ,,,,

  8. Yes .. and thank you for the $82 Billion ,us , the taxpayers, gave them.... I can't figure out if it is the American people that are so screwed up or our government leaders ...... we, me , I, the taxpayer, certainly took it in the shorts with this $700 Billion dollar bailout ....................

  9. Who to blame ...people who got in way over their heads in homes they knew they couldn't afford if things went array....our President and his sad administration ....our weak and power greedy Congressmen/women .....our poor misrepresentation in the House ...... lack of leadershio at both the state and local levels ...... all the financial institutes that send out those mailers by the thousands for credit offers that no one needs but take anyway ....... the greedy people on Wall Street ..... greedy and powerhunger CEOs who run companies to the ground , milk millions from the company, ruin the company and put people out of work ...the greedy and powerful oil companies ... the ragheads in the Middle East making Trillions off their oil .......you will notice very few CEOs doing without while others do with what they have left , if anything at all. I think there is enough blame for everyone to go around .... No one does anything to help out another unless there is something in it for them ...goes back to the Regan era .... maybe Bob Barr hit on something ,in listening to the previous post.... maybe we all need to look in the mirror ... maybe another 9/11 ...remember how quickly everyone turned to their 'brothers & sisters' and they didn't even know them an hour before..... remember the billions of donations collected in such a short period .... most squandered away needlessly and poor accounting ...this was money collected fro mthe average Joe. showing love and patriotism for their country ...what happened ? We do it to ourselves and then throw blame to others for our mistakes. The bailout is a huge mistake. The annual budget takes months to hammerout and this deal took weeks. I think we just pulled the trigger on something totally out of control ...and Wall Street...well, you would have figured a larger rally... nope, once the deal was signed they will be laughing all the way to the bank...and who pays ...the middle class guy ..... boy , our we stupid .... here's your sign !

  10. No friggin' wonder it took so long ..... Perdue SENT a letter to the president ....and I'm surprised Bush could read considering the cuts in funding for kids' programs >>>>did he said it first class , overnight or 2-day priority with receipt confirmation ...yeap ..Republicans are sure in a hurry to solve problems ... :lol: :lol: ..

    ATLANTA (AP) - Lines eased somewhat Tuesday in Atlanta, the largest city hit by a hurricane-induced gas shortage in the southeast, as Georgia's governor waited for a White House answer to his request to release more crude oil.

    Gov. Sonny Perdue sent a letter to President Bush on Monday requesting that a "signficant amount" of crude oil be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help ease the shortage.

    Perdue contends that while many Gulf Coast refineries are operating again after disruptions from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike last month, not all are receiving enough oil to return to full capacity.

    "Now, as refinery capacity is returning to pre-hurricane levels, I believe a surge in crude from the Reserve would bridge the gap until full production resumes and lessen the impact of shortages on the daily lives of our citizens," Perdue wrote in his letter to Bush.

    White House officials did not immediately return a call for comment.

    But fuel analyst Tom Kloza with the Oil Price Information Service said extra oil isn't the answer. It could take refineries several weeks to ramp up operations regardless of how much crude they receive.

    "It's probably political cover in asking for that," he said about Perdue's request.

    On Tuesday, Perdue also made it easier for gas to be delivered by temporarily allowing suppliers without a state motor fuel license to sell gas in Georgia.

    The gas shortage has created long lines at stations and frustrated drivers around the Southeast, hitting particularly hard in the Atlanta area, Nashville, Tenn., and western North Carolina.

    The average price for regular gas Tuesday was $3.93 per gallon in Georgia, 30 cents higher than the national average, according to the AAA. Motorists were paying an average of $3.89 a gallon Tuesday in North Carolina and $3.79 in South Carolina.

    The situation in Atlanta had improved some Tuesday as gas stations reported shorter lines, but new supplies delivered to pumps quickly disappeared as frantic motorists filled up out of fear they wouldn't be able to find fuel again.

    The state's main artery for gas, operated by Colonial Pipeline, is back to pre-hurricane levels, but it takes days for the gas to cover the distance from the coast to communities inland, spokesman Steve Baker said.

    Justin Wickline, 30, is moving to Atlanta from a town 25 miles north to save money on gas. The bartender said even though he works late, he's had trouble lately finding gas when he gets off work.

    "It's crazy that normally when you leave at that time, no one is out, but now people wait until the early morning to get gas," said Wickline, who plans to start riding a bicycle to his job one mile away from his new apartment.

    However, Atlanta resident Janelle Penn, 24, said she had an easier time finding gas Tuesday than in past days. She ran out of gas on Interstate 20 over the weekend and was stranded until a stranger came to help.

    "I am disgusted with this because I have to fill up every two days, but today lines are way shorter," she said as she filled up her Jeep at a BP station.

    By 4:30 p.m., the station was running low on gas and closed down half its 12 pumps.

  11. It's all politics no matter what anyone believes..... what needs to be done has to be for the good of the country and the people, not the Republcans or the Democrats , Screw the CEOs and the directors of the firms who allowed these outrageous golden parachutes ....I for one would love to be the first to cut the cord of the parachute of each and every one of them. Quite frankly, I hope they don't sleep well ....

  12. Many of the other areas get their gasoline from places other than where we do. Plus, we have other ingredients in our gasoline that either aren't required or are required at different levels than some areas. (Many areas have already switched off summer fuel but we're on it longer down here. No waiver yet from the Fed, apparently because Sonny didn't ask for it soon enough.)

    Yeap.... good ole Sonny ..taking care of business as usual ... but the FED was suppose to relax the EPA regs two weeks ago for all areas so they could cope ..... no problem in California, Arizonia, New Mexico...hell even Texas for that fact.... need a better excuse than summer fuel .... ;)
