Very sorry you didn't like your food. We do all we can to provide great tasting meats and potatoes at a reasonable price. Regarding our potatoes, our "smashed" potatoes are more "country" than our regular mashed potatoes (no skin). Both from fresh potatoes. I do want to let you know our potatoes go through a multi step washing process prior to ever being cooked, and many guests enjoy the skin. However. If you see "smashed" (which has skin) and would like something else, please let Wayne or me know and we will make every effort to accomodate. Thanks for your comments! Rodney

Was really pleased with the turn out and what folks paid! We took in a bit more than we normally do, so its an indication folks like my food, and prices are reasonable. We really try hard to put out great home made foods, but I got to admit I was wonderin how it would go!!!! Thanks for asking Rodney

Can you advise about what time you came in? Our packing policy is to place waxed paper above the food, and then place the bread on top of the paper. This should keep bread from getting soggy. I will make sure this happens, and thanks for letting me know! Regards Rodney

I was just in Destin last week for a food show. We ate at Captain Dave's and it was out of this world good. We had a group of 4 and each of us got a different item. They were all wonderful and were large portions. Our favorite was the Cajun Red Fish.....mmmmm We also ate at Bayou Bill's. The food here was very fresh and a little cheaper than Captain Dave's. I highly recommend both places though. Have fun!

I will have my delicious meatloaf ready to serve at 11:30 tomorrow, and I’m excited (and a bit nervous)…. Did I make enough? Will you really like it? What will folks pay for my food? Lots of questions to be answered tomorrow….. Course SOME Rodney’s family members are heading for the hills….. A special message from the Kitchen. I got into the restaurant business because I love to cook. I wanted to establish a special place where folks could enjoy home cooked food in a family atmosphere. I take great pride in my food. I feel, honestly, it’s the best home cooking you can get, because it’s just that, “Home Cooking” fresh and seasoned to perfection. I’m so confident about my home cooking, I want to give you an opportunity to try my food, and pay me what you think it’s worth…. No fees, no minimum... My family used to get together for a meal and everyone "pitched in" to pay for

Good morning from the kitchen! Over the past months, I have redirected my efforts here to overseeing every aspect of the food you receive. From purchasing, receiving, inspecting, developing recipes, and finally cooking the food, I personally feel as a restaurant owner, if the food is good, folks will come back. The best I have goes out with every plate, and I hope you see the care we put into your food. An example of that is our daily lunch offering. I select the freshest ingredients; use the best cooking techniques, on the best equipment. I don’t “skimp” on the quality of the food. C

Hey Karen! Kentucky Hot Brown, a gormet dish named after the Brown Hotel in Louisville. A derby staple, Kentucky Hot Brown starts with fresh Bread, layers with lean turkey breast, fresh cubed tomatoes creamy mornay sauce, topped with crisp bacon. The dish is broiled until the sauce begins to brown, hence the name "hot brown". Course I'm sure Rodney will put his own spin on this classic. Served as a 4 course meal, it includes celery soup, garden salad, hot brown served with a side of crisp hashbrowns and a piece of Derby "birthday cake". Seating at 5:30 for dinner, and the race viewing at 6:24
