Nope I'm still on a variable rate til Nov 1st(1.22 yikes!). We bought a ceramic heater and it is keeping my house warm(its a whole lot cheaper than gas!) and its doing darn good considering I have a large house. And no it doesn't run all the time either.

you do know that you can make an appointment and you won't have to wait. You just have to call them. I was there a month ago for my son's ID thats how I know.

My husband did work for Katrina and your right they don't show the half of it on Tv but some of it I wouldn't want to see on Tv. I pray Tx is nothing like New Orleans after Katrina. Hubby had to be under police escort to get his job done. Prayer sent for your husband.

I was at our summer house in Missouri making breakfast for my kids. We were out there to do work on the house which by the way is in the middle of nowhere. I was really eerie that night not a cloud or a plane in the sky. At that point in time my husband wished he wasn't retired from the Navy because he wanted to go get the SOB who did this!

I'm shocked at how the media has forgotten the importance of today. I fear we (as a nation) are slowly forgetting. Here we are entangled in a War that stemed from the acts of this day yet we heckle the Nations leaders about sending troops (that volunteered) to Iraq or Afghanistan (?) to combat terrorism and terrorist. Media covers IKE (hurricane), and the elections that are months away...How about for one day out of every year, they dedicate the air to the victims and the families of the horrific acts of 9-11. I think the images that were captured on that day should flood our tv screens!
As sad as this sounds the media doesn't want us to remember that day. I'm not going to get political so I will leave it at that. That being said I remember where I was and what I was doing on that day back in 2001 and will NEVER forget!!!

Born and raised in Lancaster County, Pa til 17 joined the Navy went to Ca. Came back to Pa and then went back to Ca. Been to Italy then to Ms and on to Tx then to Tn where I have stayed the longest since getting out of high school. Moved here last year. Hoping to stay here til kids get out of school then who knows where.

We have friends who live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and are concerned for them. My prayers go out to them and to anyone who has family or friends who live in the Gulf Coast region this is a nasty storm.
