  1. Ya think? Remember that the GOP has basically been in control of Congress since January 1995 and if I were to line up the number of Republicans that like money and the number of bleeding heart Democrats; I do think the Republican line would be longer. And remember they weren't at all bashful about asking for things like hundred million dollar bridges to be built at public expense to private islands.

    pubby

And the democrats had it for 40 years prior to that so any line made by the repubs would look like the vegetable line at a school cafeteria.

  2. I don't know who called it in but I saw this blanket this morning and if someone mistook it for a body inside needs to have their eyes checked. I swear, I think some folks just need attention.

A blanket must have fallen off a truck using it to cover something. As the cars drove over it, the wind rolled it down the road. I guess it eventually made to the side.

  3. Pubby--Quit posting your made up lies about the fair tax. Shifting the burden away from the rich doesn't make sense. What you fail to mention if the fact that we will get all our money for the work WE do and WE will decide where our taxes go. NOT WASHINGTON or the GOLD DOME. Of course a flaming liberal like yourself loves the gov't control and that is what you should have posted.

  4. I didn't say that this ice is no big deal.

Quite the opposite. But if our emergency services can't get out in this kind of emergency, what is this county to do if someone is in a serious life or death episode?

And BTW, the way to drive on ice- S.L.O.W.L.Y!!!

I don't think you need to be replying to anyone on this board after that crap you posted earlier. Did you ever think the emergency crews were working OTHER accidents that might have been life or death? Probably not with that selfish attitude of yours.

BTW, I don't need your advice about the ice driving, the proper answer is "don't drive on ice". I think most of us would agree that your should focus on cleaning up your act.

  5. You know the more I think about this, Paulette may have won because she had an R after her name but I truly believe Will Avery lost because he had a D after his. Don't think it was a good year to run on a democratic ticket.

I believe he would have done much better in a different time. ;)

You're right NG. "Blue dog Dems" or conservative dems who ran in races nation wide got their butts handed to them. I blame the democrat party for putting Will in a situation that He couldn't win even if he walked on water. They actually believed (along with a lot of supporters) that he could win in a super majority republican district in a political time that the (D) stood for "don't elect anyone of this party". Will needs to look at his political stances, distance himself from anything union (not taking thier money), and present himself more in line with the constiuents that he wants to represent.

  6. This county has some major issues if Paulette wins. Party or not, no way anyone should vote for someone who has had the problems she has. I just can't fathom that lady representing Paulding on a State Level, its embarrassing.

We just feel we can tolerate her better until 2012 than trust anything from the democrat who has recieved campaign money from unions. Go figure. Look for a new nominee from the repubs in '12.

  7. Jerry's Water Girl... Maybe.

    Jerry's Door Guard... Absolutely.

My personal opinions are based on one on one interactions.

David has always stopped to talk to me about topics that are important to me and my family.

Todd has always been available to help me day or night.

Beverly stood in the door to keep me from speaking to Jerry.

Jerry never knew me because Beverly kept me away from him.

Todd & David will be a good team to serve the people of Paulding County.

Beverly & Jerry were a good team to serve Beverly & Jerry.

Just personal opinions & observations based on personal interactions.

Both came to by office and we had one on one time. After that, the only candidate who answered my questions in full and follow up questions was Todd. It really wasn't even close. Anyone who puts the two side by side can obviously see who is the most qualified and who they truly are going to represent. JMHO.

  8. Now that folks is a great endorsement! No political spin but just first-hand testimony. The only part I would disagree with is "I know Todd has run a campaign that was clean and that he did not sling mud or talk nasty about anyone." ... The Austin endorsement ad was a little nasty and negative toward Beverley and I know that Todd reviewed and approved that advertisement. However, Todd does seem to be an very good upstanding citizen. Unfortunately he appears to be David's water-boy and that has turned me off since day one. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with Far West, but I have to ask you this.......You don't think Beverly was/is Shearin's water girl?

  9. I believe they have to reduce the millage rate if assessments go back up. If not, then they have to hold public meetings to discuss why not.

This was Shearin's Dog & Pony Show every August. The assessments would go up 10%, and they would roll back the millage rate by 0.01 mill, and then have a back slapping party to celebrate the tax decrease.

Then when you got your tax bill in September it would be almost 10% higher than last years, even though they rolled back the millage rate.

This year assessments have gone down, county wide, by an average of more than 14.5%. Mine went down 25%. Your net tax bill will be that much less than last year, plus the less than 1 mill they are discussing tomorrow.

I for one, would love to see some of these candidates and current office holders to go on record saying they will roll back the millage when assessments go back up to keep our taxes balanced. Just like they are doing now. I seriously doubt anyone would have the gonads to do that.

  10. I'm not sure about this one. Let's say the rate increase is going to go through and 75% of us will not see an increase in our taxes. However, in a year or so when they decide to start reassessing our homes (AGAIN) are they going to roll back the mill rate to compensate for the high dollar amount we'll be forced to pay? Will the mill rate go down in a couple years if/when our properties start to increase in value again? Is that a legitimate question to get candidates on record NOW?

  11. Good idea, but I'm like you...I don't know if it'll do any good. I really don't think most gooberment officials get the idea till yet that we are FED UP. We are OVER IT!!! I don't want to hear it. Oh, we need money for this, oh, if you don't pay higher taxes, we'll have to cut police/fire personnel. Bovine excrement! CUT CRAP LIKE THE DOG WALK AREAS OF THE PARK THAT WAS LISTED IN THE LAST SPLOST. Or like in Cobb County, cut the frickin' $1 million they were or are spending on putting artificial turf in the football fields at each of the 16 high schools. ARGH!!!!!!! You know, in hard times, we still need 100% police and fire protection. In hard times, we do NOT NEED dog walk areas in a park!!! If we keep voting out the incumbents for the next 10 elections (or however long it takes), maybe they'll get the message. I truly don't think elected officials (not just Paulding, but everywhere) have any idea just how fed up the working people of this country are. But they will be. They will be.

Programs that are paid for with SPLOST can't be reallocated. Also, the fields were paid for by a special bond too. You can't just change the rules after it is voted in. Those allocated monies have nothing to do with police or fire protection. Find another source to complain about where the money can be reallocated. I am with you on the frustration part. :good:

  12. Some folks couldn't conjure an original thought in two lifetimes. Instead, they prefer to find a comfortable place standing in a flock of like minded people and try quacking louder than the rest. In their limited little mind, this makes them look informed. This guy reminds me of the saying "it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Need another drink? :drinks: Now that PT isn't your punching bag, you on the prowl for new victims? Just as your description above speaks, you guys could flock together in the "most disgruntled" pcom group on the board. I have never seen several guys stir up more trouble on this board and you want to condemn others. That is hilarious.

  13. Say what you want. And believe it as well I guess. Sure was fun voting a Republican primary ballot, especially the last question.

Those who know me and do business with me see me as someone on the conservative side of a moderate, who wants no government intervention in my private life. I have always paid my corporate taxes with a smile, because that meant my business made a profit.

As an employer with 25 full time positions, we paid good wages, paid holidays, paid vacations, and we paid their health insurance 100% after they had been with us for 2 years. 50% after 1 year. And we had 12 to 15 `ten year plus employees when we started downsizing and selling of the manufacturing side.

I understand the European way of running businesses, and give them kudos for maintaining good health insurance on 100% of the population for half of what we pay, and providing social security benefits which actually provide a livable income for their retirees. No, I don't approve of all of their social programs, but I think they do a much better job than we do with:

    healthcare

    Quality of Life

    Retirement

    Illegal Immigration

    OSHA type workplace regulations

Welfare [They require education program attendance and retraining to collect your money]

But my no means am I socialist, or even close. I am still very much a capitalist even though I shut down the manufacturing part of my business.

   Even your socialist mind has warped your sense of reality. That's what propaganda from the left does. Once you admit to your true self, life becomes much easier to live. :good: Release the hate and come to grips with the truth and you'll feel a weight lifted right off your shoulders. :drinks: At least you should admit who you are.

So hurl the insults, and believe them if you want Fascist Fanatical Right Wing Nutcase.

I love this line.

  14. Animal has never given me any reason to think he is liberal. He does love to pull people's chains.laugh.gif

As was I. I've read enough of him to know where he stands. I referred to "lib" in his case because he just wasn't understanding the word "generally". That seems to be lib brains when it comes to reality and truth. Guess they could see the correlation. ;) Doesn't surprise me.
