  1. For myself, my fiance, and my daughter to attend the cookout, it would cost us $50. :( While I would love to attend, I can't justify spending two weeks worth of gas money on dinner and a pony ride.

I would love to come by and see the horses sometime though. ^_^

  2. Little bit wants to be Sleeping Beauty (she was Cinderella and Snow White the past two years), so I'm making her a gigantic tutu dress with sequins and flowers. She's SO excited because, for the past several years, I've made tutu dresses for customers but not for her...she wound up with store bought costumes.

For myself, I haven't decided yet. After 9 years, I finally retired my purple faerie costume, so I have to come up with something new.

  3. Can you trade tutoring? Find someone or post on the board that you can help in other classes for help in math?

    .... .

Genius idea, actually.....and I would love to do that and help somebody out. BUT, I have no idea when I would find time between working full-time, my two classes, my part-time work, and being a single mom on top of getting tutoring myself.

And commuting. I added up how many hours I spend commuting every week. Holy hell. :o

  4. I've been away from it longer than you, but it isn't greek. ;) You can do it girl. :good:

Glad somebody has faith in me.

Every other class I've walked into I've walked in ready to dominate, and have done so.

I think my problem is the fact that there's not a class to walk into. No teacher teaching, no asking quesions, just a box to put your answer in and hit 'Submit'.

Tell me what you need. I got a couple of people home for the summer who might be able to help.

It's Math Modeling. 'Functions and Change, A Modeling Approach to College Algebra'.

I think I just need human explanation. The book isn't cutting it.

Isn't there a board or something at the school that has that kind of info on it? I saw one behind the library (I think it was the library) it had a whole bunch of flyers on it.

Yeeeeeah, most of those are tutors that want $40 an hour. We have a Math Lab, which is free and they will help with everything until you get it mastered....but it's from 8-5, and I'm in my office from 8-5. :(

    which class is it ?

    See above. :D

  5. Seriously. Anybody know of one? Or somebody who would be willing to help me out? I'm incredibly lost. I signed up for an online math class (mistake #1) because it keeps me from a) being at school until 10:45 two nights a week or B) being gone four nights a week. It was the only online class open which I need or can currently take.

I suck at math. Basic math is great, but add functions, domains, and graphs and I'm screwed. Add it to the fact that my level of concentration is practically zero here lately and I'm trying to teach myself something I haven't seen in 7 years. Oh, and instead of being a 16 week course, it's an 8 week course...so it's the same amount of work in half the time. We got new material and homework yesterday, test over it and get the new material tomorrow, then test over the new material on Friday.

I think I lost my ever lovin' mind with this one. Good news is I have two 100's and an 88 in the class so far...but I think I'm gonna fail the test tomorrow, and math builds on previous chapters. No bueno.

In better news, I'm rockin' my Comp class. :pardon:

  6. I hate when someone is sick here :( I DO NOT like when I can't fix sumthin.

Yeah, that's about how the BF and I are feeling. Her dad had her for the first two days of it, and I have her for the rest of the week. I hate seeing her all laying on the couch and sad looking - it's not her, and I can't fix it. :(

The BF keeps trying, but being a medic does no good from 75 miles north.  He's not liking the long distance when the little one is so pathetic.

LOL, I read that as "fried stripper". What fixins go along with that, her, etc.?

    I did, too!

  7. Same boat here. Between running to her every want for cool rags, pop cycles, juice, water, TV and whatever else she can seem to sucker me up for  I have managed to get my house clean. :yahoo: BUT, now i'm tired and don't feel like cooking anything. Was hoping to pick up a quick and easy idea from this thread b/c hubby needs to know what I am making so he can stop and get it on his way home (which is now.) I'm such a procrastinator. <_<

I did a few loads of laundry, brewed a new batch of laundry detergent, worked on some math homework and photo editing...but I didn't actually clean. The BF insisted I take it easy today because I've been sick/running a fever, too.

I coulda cleaned the whole darn house today. <_<

  8. Dang- I think being sick in the summer is worse than the winter. Sorry she's not feeling well- be careful about feeding her if she doesn't wanna eat- that could be a mess- try popcicles.

Oh, she's in Popsicle heaven today.

  9. Damn. Dinner. Didn't even think of that one. -_-

At home with a sick kiddo who refuses to eat, so it may just be an egg sandwich for me. Or I'll try soup and beg her into eating. :pardon:

  10. I'm doing laundry and cleaning house...then I have a lunch date with a friend and toy party at my house tonight! You should come over at 6. :)

    Ahhh, can't.

Mister is coming into town in about 45, and we're spending the day at the pool/Barnes and Noble. I have over 200 pages of logarithms stuff and composition crap to read and a test to take.
