  1. i'm not sure that it's funny.

either someone (and their passenger) were so damn drunk that they fell out of the cab of a moving truck while not doing a donut in a culdesac (after driving from who knows where and endangering countless bystanders)... or someone flung two drunk folks out of the back of their truck while not doing donuts, fled the scene on foot after damaging someone's shrubbery (and two peoples bodies) and is still at large as we type.

sounds pretty dang serious to me.

    My bad. mellow.gif

    :snickers:

  2. i feel for the families.

but not so much the two deunkasses who fell out of a moving truck, while not doing donuts.

i just can't imagine circumstances that would cause two grown people to simultaneously fall out of a perfectly good moving vehicle.

color me judgemental, but you've got to be a real moron to pull that one off.

then that person is an absolute jackhole and should be cited with, at the very least, leaving the scene and failure to render aid.

these are not the actions of a responsible designated driver.

  3. Yup. No such thing as "rat proof". Grandfather had a horse farm and his feed containers ALWAYS had holes in them from rats, and other critters, its a fact of life. Like I said before I suspect those that think this will go away are in for a BIG surprise and most likely have little working knowlege of places were a lot of animals live. Where their is animal feed there will be rats, you can control the number which it sounds like wasn't done very well (and why the manager should at least be investigated if not terminated), but you will have them.

But apparently they can live in rubber and rope chew toys.

  4. Update:

    Thursday May 20th.

Anything inside the building that does not belong to the county will be put into a 2nd roll off dumpster today.

This is in addition to the dumpster that was being filled yesterday with anything in the area of the rodent issue.

This would include a wide variety of donations given by the public.

Towels, pet beds, treats, toys, comfort items, etc.

All PHS items had to be removed.... furniture, pictures, that nice flat screen television that MISTY worked so hard to raise funds for.

    no. drastic. changes.

I pray that you are right.

I would think if something is infested you would have to throw everything out! That is what I would do if I had a problem. Kind of like if you have a mold problem. You do not want to keep anything because it could have mold on it. Why risk that?

I am sure you are a huge animal lover and I am sure change is hard for some of you. I do feel however this is for the better. I think you need to look at the bigger picture and just not at the fact that people have came in to redo everything that you all worked so hard for. I am sure you all did a wonderful job with what you had to work with, but unfortunatly the situation is what it is. Sometimes it is better to start all over. Good Luck to you and do not let this make you stop doing what you love to do. I think you do need to move forward because all of these emails that you are posting seem to just give a negative vibe about the shelter when you all worked so hard to have a postive one. If Southern Hope has such a problem with this maybe they should offer to work together while the shelter is closed. I mean it is about the animals right?

I'm not exactly sure how pictures, pet toys, treats, etc. could be infested with rats. Furniture and pet beds, maybe.

I understand it being cleaned out if they're doing an overhaul of the place, but to the dumpster?

I've donated treats and toys to the shelter...good to know the money I spent is literally going into the trash.

  5. Do you want some cheese with that wine! :angry2:

We are in the middle of a economic down turn unlike any we have seen. Get a grip!

So you would think, while being in 'an economic down turn unlike any we have seen' (which I'm sure my grandmother would whole-heartedly disagree with), that they would want volunteers...not turn them away because they disagree with behind-the-scenes action of being employed there.

  6. Yes, I'm already booked at 11, so I have 12:00 and up available

Noon works for me. It'll probably just be me, unless I can get Mister to come too. He only has a few tats. My BFF is covered, but I doubt she can get a babysitter.

  7. Being you're one of my best art models, of course you'll be great for the part :)

Send me a pm of your best available times so I can make a schedule....

Looks like I'm going to fill up pretty fast. Do you have any tatooed friends you want to bring?

    Is it this Saturday?

  8. I'm doing some art projects and I need the following type people to photograph on Saturday, March 6:

    Tattooed men and women:

I'm doing black and white art shots

A woman in a wedding dress and a man in a tux:

I want to do some black and white wedding type pics. Marriage not required

I'm up for either of these, but I don't have a wedding dress. Find one in my size and I'm all over it. ^_^

I'm not heavily covered, either, but I have 9 if that counts for anything. :p

  9. Yes!!!! Hilarious - there was a point in the parade where the driver braked as we were dancing and I was caught off balance. Jlh10101 caught me before I went over the front of the float. I stopped in my tracks and couldn't stop laughing...it scared the death out of me.

You caught it on camera.:lol:

How might I go about getting copies of these?

  10. I can honestly say that I would probably stop at the gas station at Crossroads for a biscuit before I would stop at Vito's simply because I don't trust other drivers and wouldn't want to left turn in that traffic twice a morning. I only stop at Vitos if I'm right turning....but I pretty much only stop anywhere if I'm right turning or have a light.

    I'm a chicken. :pardon:

I don't pass through there before 7am anyway, though.

  11. I don't know either ... other than folks probably got snarky.

I personally was doing the news which included the official report from the Paulding-Haralson Drug Task Force including photos of the operation.

I think one of the purposes in making the release was because the earlier story that ran in Talapoosa's newspaper and came from the Tallapoosa City chief contained inaccuracies that the DTF wanted to correct. For instance, I saw it referenced that there was little or no dope found in the raids where as the report released today referenced over 2300 growing plants and over 40 pounds of dope grown and cured in the facilities.

The DTF is also asking for information regarding a suspect called Pimentel who has absconded.

    pubby

    Pubby just said 'dope'.

    ~chuckles~

I think the story itself is relevant, now that the actual story is out. I think all of the hearsay, people bashing and gossip was the part that was not needed.

  12. recieved an automatic call from dobbins middle school in hiram. School is CLOSED FOR WEDNEDAY NOW! ughhhhh! Some of us have to work! I have a younger child that can't stay home alonne. This is getting annoying.

Pardon the annoyance, but there are dozens...maybe even hundreds of children who have flooded homes and nothing to wear to school much less a way to get there. Then you have to account for the caved in roads and bridges, eroded roads, etc...school buses can't go over those roads with bus loads of children.

Sorry for the inconvenience, the Board of Education is just doing what is safest for the children not to mention more convenient for those who weren't as lucky as you and I. Many of us have to work. However, many of us would rather the hassle of schools being closed than teachers, staff, and children be injured or die trying to get to work/school. Just because some have a clear path doesn't mean everyone does.
