  1. My BIL just went with WR last weekend on a hunting trip in his (WR) plane.

Was invited to go on this trip but couldn't make it due to business.

I am saddened for the families and grateful my BIL wasn't on the trip.

    Please pray for all

  2. I have seen very many children with head injuries and I know they are very resilient. I do not know the extent of this childs brain injury, but you never know with children

Adults, on the other hand, do not fair as well, but you can never predict a persons will and determination or Gods' will.

I pray for them both and everyone related to them AND the other driver and his family.

BTY, any update on the "other" drivers condition?

  3. from the other side of the counter.... appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes usually doubled booked now even if you get in at your time say you have more than 1 problem or you have a question about your viagra so on and so forth..... so your 15 min appointment ran into 25-30 min so you just used up your appointment a 2 other peoples time too but i guess that really doesent matter ........

now im not saying it is right but you also have to think about weather or not the dr. is on call or not is it possible there was an emergancy??? waiting this long is never right and i have encountered some rather incompetant staff myself...

This is understandable, but what's happened to the staff (if the doctor has left on an emergency, then the staff has nothing to do) coming out and informing the long waiting patients. Then, giving them the choice to stay or re-schedule. Some pt's are there for check ups and would rather re-schedule and let the sick ones be seen.

It's all about letting the pt. be involved in his/her own health care decisions. Are the staff not compentent enough to make a decision without the doctor present. Who is running the office anyway? Has to be a manager there to educate the staff to inform THEIR patients of long waits or they may not be THEIR

    patients for long.

  4. Very well said.

Stop the insanity of cosumming and live life.

    Needless Needs

Do you really need to win every argument? Even in the unlikely event that you win an argument, what have you really gained?

Do you really need to arrange things so that you can feel superior to everyone else? Even when you've been hurt by others, do you ever really receive anything of positive value by hurting them in return?

Do you really need all the many things that you strive to consume or possess? Do you really need to spend every moment concerned about what others will think of you?

How much of your time and energy do you spend satisfying needs that you don't really need? Imagine the sense of freedom that would come from simply letting go of the most useless of those needs.

Practice focusing your effort and attention not on what you must get, but rather on the best you can be. Real abundance comes more from quality than from quantity.

Spend less time striving to acquire and possess and satisfy every perceived need, and you'll have much more time and energy to truly live. The less you need, the more real richness your life will have.

  9. Why not move if it so bad?

Because I was born and raised here! REad my post, if other counties can manage to build more schools as more and more subdivisions are built and they don't have to increase their taxes, why do we have to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Sumfins rong here in dis county

Well, I truly hope what I was hearing was wrong, but the conversation was from "officials" in this county about the sales tax going up to 8%, I hope I heard them wrong, but I am 99.9% sure that is what they said..

Are they going to increase property tax and sales tax, I sure do hope not, hope someone can intelligently rebut what I heard.

Sales tax is tax on goods.

The school bond dealt with property tax. Two different things.

I have not heard a thing about Paulding County raising the sales tax.

  10. I overheard some "people in the know" talking today about our sales tax (school bond) will be going up soon to 8%.

WOW, we are the only county in the state of Georgia with such a high sales tax.

Well, , I think I will do the same thing these people were talking about, and that is, I will do ALL my shopping/consuming in Cobb County.

Why not, their sales tax is what 5%? The Cobb Co. line for those of us in Hiram, is only a couple of miles down the road.

So, I will send my money to Cobb Co. Sorry Paulding Co., but there has to be a better way

We are the 8th fastest growing county in the US. Gwinnett is first. BUT they still have a lower sales tax than PC. So let us look at why that is?

Are our "politicians" not using the money corrrectly?????

If other counties can keep up with the fast growing pace and build more schools etc and NOT have to raise their sales tax, THEN WHY CAN'T WE.

I would loved to be enlightened by anyone that can logically splain this to me Lucy (LOL)

  11. Did you ever stop and think that your and your spouses education was funded by people who did not ever have children also? There was no cap then just as there is not now!! Funny...I guess what is good for the goose is not good for the gander!! Anyway, also since you are moving out of the county (and I wish you all the best), I hope you will be thanking the "yes" voters who just assured that you getting more out of your property sale. If this has not passed, those that live in the high density areas that would be going to double sessions would have seen their property values decrease.

Oh, good luck in finding a county that bases their property taxes based on your having kids or not...I do not think you will!

You obiviously don't get my point. You don't know if I went to a private school or public. Like I stated, I don't mind paying my share of taxes for the schools, I just don't think that I should start paying more! I already pay almost $1000.00 a year for lease than 6 acres of land with a small modest home. Now I will be paying more in taxes than I pay on my mortage montly. That's rediculous. I know others that have more acreage and a larger home than mine and they don't pay near what I pay in property taxes. Whats up with that?

The land I own in another state is three times the acerage I own in PC and I only pay 200.00 a year on it, AND the schools there are 100 times better than the schools in PC. So we nned to look at where our money is going here in PC!!

  12. Its all about prioities. Classrooms should come before anything else. a fancy theatre or a bigger gym need to be lower on the list. Build the schools first. The problem is everyone wants bigger and better and don't realize you don't need a huge gym or tennis courts first. If you really care about the kids build the classrooms instead of buying cheap trailers and doing "gravy" projects when the basics weren't provided. I'm not saying any of those people stole money, but I'm sorry the prioities are way out of line. after the overcrowding is relieved then you can go and spend money on the wants. Just my opinion.

AMEN!!!!!!!!! When I was in school, we didn't have fancy gyms, athletic fields etc, and we did just fine. We also had our proms in our gym, not at some big fancy establishment. Who pays for the prom locations?

If we keep giving these kids fancy things, then when they get out in the real world, how are they going to manage to live the lifestyles the school systems have provided to them?

A lot of them have a rude awakening coming.

  13. Hmmmm...

Are you complaining about the money or what you are getting for your money?

Good point, I am complaining about BOTH

The fact that you don't have kids shouldn't play into your decision any hoot.

Do you want to live in a county that has poor schools, cheap teachers and limited resources. Do you want you neighbors with kids to want this type of school.

If you didn't own a car would you still care if the streets were paved, or patroled by police officers?

please read my post again, I am NOT complaining about giving my fair share, children are our future. I was unable to have children and feel like I shouldn't have to pay as much or continue paying the rest of my life.

I am happy to contribute my share for quailty teachers etc!

  14. I can believe it passed.

Personally, I have no children and have been paying school taxes (900.00's worth yearly), why should I have to pay even more now.

It is not by choice that I don't have children, I would have had a house full if I had been able to.

I don't think it is fair that those of us who don't have children have to continue paying school taxes. I don't mind contributing to the schools because the children are our future, but there should be a "cap" on it for those of us who are childless.

Personally, I have been holding off from moving out of this county, now I think I will go ahead and move now.

    Just my two cents worth.

  15. 10 years ago there was a reunion of the rescusers, doctors, nursing staff, civilians and airline employees. What I saw was touching and it also helped each and everyone of them to become closer to each other and also helped them with closure, some have never reached.

My father was one of the doctors who cared for the victims, especailly Sandy Purl. The reunion left my eyes watering and so were hers and his. She said this reunion helped her to cope with what had happened and that it will never be forgotten, just a moment of terror in each and everyone of those peolples live that were touched.

I think that remeberance is hard for some poeple but is also healing for others.

The memorial should happen for those who need it (why deny them that) and the others that have put it past them can either join and support them or deal with it in their own way. Regardless, it needs to happen, it was a monumental event for the passengers, families (on board and on the ground) and will let all of them know we never have and never will forget any of them.

  16. This is one of the reasons Clarks has a bad reputation.

In the past, people have posted complaints about their response times.

Well, it is these "tooth ache" emergency calls that tie them up so when someone has a REAL emergency, well, the real one's have to wait because of the ones that "abuse" the system.

Unfortunately, EMS is required to respond to ALL 911 calls, by law.

Any suggestions on how to stop this madness will be welcomed.

  17. A man I work with lost his son tragically. (Thomas)

What is so bad about it, he searced for his son for a month, hired a PI which was no help.

Nothing was ever said by the media (they must not think a missing person is news worthy).

Anyway, after a month of searching, the father went to the news and asked them to show his picture on TV in hopes someone would know his whereabouts.

He did get a response, but it was not what he wanted to hear. The news he received was from the Cobb Co Morgue.

They had his body, he had been hit by a car. He had no ID on him so they held his body until someone might come claim him. (the person that hit him did stop but with no ID, the family could not be notified).

He was 15 years old. The family is originally from Africa and they want to send his body back home for burial.

The cost for this is 15,000.00!!!

Please help this man and make any amount of contribution you can.

Call Paulding Hospital and ask for the Nursing Home secretary.

    770-445-4411.

They will tell you where to send the money.

Please pray for this family, they are very torn from this horrible incident.
