  1. Rockmart Lodge #97 will be holding our annual pork BBQ sale this Friday. The plates consist of a hearty helping of pulled pork, homemade slaw, beans, bread, and tea. A full meal for only $6.

I will be adding directions and times later.

  2. Animal control is the agency that deals with this ordinance. I have chickens and live in a subdivision. If they tell me that I can longer have it then I will get rid of my chickens but until that day comes I will continue collecting my eggs. There are so many trash holes around here and so many blatant violations that I think I am safe around here. Besides my coop is nice looking and does not stink since I take pride in my yard and flock.

  3. I'm calling the attorney's explanation, "B.S"! A "distraction blow"? They're trained to kick a guy in the head when he's in a prone position with his arms out? B.S.!

The officer needs to get him a better attorney!

Officer: "You gotta help get me out of this!"

Attorney: "We'll just say that you were trained to kick the guy in the head - that it was S.O.P.!"

A better attorney?? Sounds like he is gonna be cleared of any wrong-doing. Seems to me as if this attorney worked out pretty good for him!

  4. I had a John Deere that I got from Cobb County Tractor. So this wasnt the HD JD models. I hated that thing. Lost my butt on it but now I have a front engine Snapper and love it! Gave Subby my last rear engine snapper that I blew up year before last because I was too lazy to check the oil.......Subby were you able to use that thing??

It seemed to me that you suggested that the adrenaline created mitigating circumstances and that the officer should not be prosecuted but rather be required to obtain more training.

In general I do understand your point of view and if it were exceedingly common ... which it may be ... then it would be because we've 'coddled' the men in blue and allowed them to get away with an obviously wrongful act.

The point here being you either believe in the ability of the law to sanction actions - i.e. we don't rob banks because of the likelihood of the crime being followed by specific punishment or we don't. If we started letting bank robbers go, only confiscating their stolen money, the believe amongst most would be that we're actually encouraging bank robbery. Yep, not much pain and oh, if you hit the right bank at the right time and make your getaway ... what a reward.

Simliarly, if we don't say ... nope, kicking a guy in the head is a felony assault and there is no excuse ... your busted and prosecuted ... the belief would be that few cops would do so.

The reality is that I suspect this actually happens more often than we expect as it was an 'accident' that the media helicopter had cameras rolling during the arrest. Access to crime scenes, notably are also highly controlled by officers and, except for rare occasions when the media have a camera in the sky - or a neighbor is there with camera ready (as in Rodney King) is there a record of the assault. The the behavior is tolerated to any degree is probably why it actually does happen.

PS: I support law enforcement and treat those in law enforcement with absolute respect even during those moments I disagree. I think it is wrong and an act of simply (misdemeanor assault to spit on another, for instance.)

Gotcha and happen to agree. My statement about adrenaline was simply giving a reason as to why it may have happened. I don't think it is right. I am clear that we uphold the law and should not break it. I do however feel that if you hit me once then I will hit you four or five times. But the head kick was flat out 100% wrong. By the way the kicking of the head would only be battery which is a simple misdemeanor and not a felony as some are claiming. Now if the injury was substantial enough to render a body part useless say put out an eye then it would be elevated to aggravated battery which would be a felony which I doubt would fit this scenario.

    Remember, I love weezy!

  6. Why would a cop kicking a suspect in the head not be a felony, but let a suspect kick a cop and he'll get charged with a felony? It's a double-standard.

All the cops I've dealt with are rogue cops and I don't trust any of them. Actually when some mouthy-runt cop that comes to the trailer park and gets cussed at, laughed at and harassed, it makes my day!

This is funny. Seems that the magician that keeps making my post go poof may have actually and possibly simply over looked this hateful and inciting post was neglected along with mine. Just curious. I love weezy by the way. He is a great guy or girl and I hope he never gets kicked in the head. No way does he deserve any treatment like that! Drive safely weezy!

  7. My opinion is that the kick in the head was wrong. I watched the whole pursuit and it looked like a really good pursuit. I'm not a police officer and have no professional training to back up my judgement, but it seemed like the officers were giving the suspect a lot of room to move, presumably to minimize civilian casualties. It looked really well done right up to the kick to the head.

And that's the shame really - it tarnished what looked like a good pursuit and arrest and now there will be public outcry, lawsuits, excuses to let the guy off and an officer who probably just ruined his career because he let himself lose control.

I don't harbor any hatred for the officer. I feel no sympathy for the suspect either and agree that a scenario where a police officer would kick him in the head is unlikely without being involved in a criminal activity. But that definately doesn't make it ok for the officer to kick him while he's prone and not resisting. Bad move by the officer and a case where the criminal probably ultimately wins and everybody else loses - the police, the department, the city/county and the taxpayers.

    Excelent post! :good:

  8. I'm trying to think of a single professionallegedly where an employee can commit a felony while on the clock and not get fired. I'm having a little trouble thinking of a single one.

I also can't think of any mitigating circumstances that would make it okay for an arresting officer to kick a suspect in the head like that.

    Even this:

Police officer: Dang it, I got dirt on my boots!

Suspect: Kick me in the head - maybe it'll knock off the dirt!

    See? Even that doesn't work.

Our profession is like no other! Can you name one civilian job where you may get shot at, spit on, kicked or punched, or just hated because of your clothing and STILL be expected to show the offender some level of respect? I am not defending this officer but our job is like no other and until you have walked in our boots you will have no idea.

I have seen it from both sides of the badge. Can you say the same?

  10. There are good and bad in just about every aspect of life. Police are human and subject to bad decision making like the rest of us.

The thing that bothers me is the bad apples are defended by by the "brotherhood" with seemingly few exceptions. Other than that I love a man in uniform. Except the ninja ones...or the paramilitary. State Troopers are hot.

This "brotherhood"member does not defend bad apples. They make us all look bad and I think we should be held to a higher standard. I hate dirty rouge cops! Do I consider this cop in question a dirty rouge cop? No. Why you may ask. Well unless you have ever been in a chase involving high speeds, flashing blue lights, loud sirens, and other motoring public members you have no idea how high your adrenaline levels become and how jacked up it makes you. Some of us deal with this differently and better than others. Should he be disciplined? Yep and made to attend additional training. Just because some douche runs doesn't give us the right to kick them like that and honestly is criminal. However I have been in that officers boots before and can honestly tell ya that things seem quite different to the officer on the ground than they do to some redneck sitting on his couch watching the 11 o'clock news.

  11. We are and you are not playing right. :p

We wanted a Dear Tow thread and you are not being a dear at all.

So maybe we need to change it up a little.............Who wants to be Dear????????

He don't want to play with us. :(

A little slack here. I'm on a blackberry and it is hard to keep up. :p

Oh yes, I'm also at work so I have to fill my quota before I can play.

I am so sorry. Is there still time to cover this found information up? :p :p

You are just jealous that you aint a cousin too!

  12. I have a silkie hen that turned broody over 2 months ago. Now she just sits in the nest box all day long. She sits on the other hen's eggs and I'm concerned that she is getting them too hot during the day. I'm not wanting to hatch any eggs and want her to quit this behavior. She is also becoming very thin. She will eat daily but only comes off of the nest box briefly. Any ideas?
