  1. Hubby and I went to the one in Powder Springs and I promise -- when we opened the door, the area between the restaurant and the outside smelled awful!! It smelled just like what the waitresses were talking about. We told the workers and they sort of shrugged their shoulders and acted as if it was no big deal. We left - won't go back to that one. It was the first time we had tried it, but as we like to say, "we've been there 2 times - the first and last."

I did report it to the corporate office via e-mail and got a reply that said that the area manager would call me and that was it. Nothing, nada!! So, I just look at the place everytime I go through PS and think about how bad it smelled.

  2. P.com is sort of like belong to a Baptist Church. You are a member, but every now and then, your seat in the pew begins to get uncomfortable. If you want your feelings hurt, join a Baptist Church -- that's what my minister used to say every now and then.

May Cheffy just needs a break from the stuff that goes on here. I know you can get cynical really fast when you're trying to 'keep up' with all that goes on. It's very addictive, too, and you find yourself glued to a computer. Not saying either of these are what happened, but it could be....

  3. I just wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Pak N Pink in Hiram.

I have a co-worker whose wife has cancer. She has many more bad days than good, and can hardly get out of the bed most days.

I have been telling my co-worker (for many weeks now) to please stop by Pak N Pink and just see what they have that may help her. I knew she was doing the chemo and radiation and would soon be losing her hair. I told him I thought they could help her with a wig if that was the way she decided to go, or would probably have some nice scarfs or other ideas.

Well yesterday he came into my office just bubbly. He just wanted to thank me for telling him about your store. He said she ABSOLUTELY LOVED the lady who helped her. She stayed in there for over an hour and was fitted for wigs, and the worker there helped her so her insurance would cover the expenses. He said she was the happiest he had seen her in a long time. She had been saying all along she wasn't going to wear a wig until she came in there. Her entire attitude changed.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! She needed your kind words and support. Hopefully I won't know too many people who need your service, but if I do, I will be sending them your way.

Please tell him also to call the American Cancer Society. They have a program that is put on every month at Kennestone called "Look Good, Feel Better". It is a little meeting where women who are taking or will be taking chemo can go and they teach them how to apply makeup during their treatments because many will lose their hair and eyelashes and eyebrows. They give them about $300 worth of makeup and show them how to wear it. It does prove that when you look good, you feel better.

That being said, there are some days when she isn't going to feel like getting out of bed. But I took my sister who is going through chemo there and they did the class with her and a few others - they sit around a table and all of them take off their wigs or scarfs or whatever and they show them how to take care of their head and skin and it's wonderful. Also, they bring in wigs and scarfs and give them to the ladies also, if they want them. It's a good program.

  4. I told my hubby as soon as Katrina hit that alot of them would flock here to Georgia and mark my words that the crime rate would spike. Sure enough, it was no time when we started seeing it.

Yep. Sure did ---- both times.

  5. George Bush Senior was a Republican, who rased taxes as President, even though he has said “Read My Lips, No New Taxes.”

McCain said, "I don't want to raise anybody's taxes," but he hasn't said he want. He has said he will continue the tax cut George W. Bush gave the rich people, who have moved their factories over seas.

Obama has said he will not raise your taxes, unless you earn over $250,000 a year. The government has to get it's money from somewhere, but it want be from you.

Obviously we disagree. I respect your opinion. I respect the fact that you believe that only the rich get richer under Republicans. We will always be on opposite ends of the pole regarding politics, so why should you and I bicker? I will protect what I have earned against bullies (which I thought this thread was originally about) and no matter what, I respect everyone who has guts enough to say what's on their mind.

I will not reply to anything else in this thread. I feel I have already stated what I think and I won't get anywhere arguing. Enough said. I have to go move some more 'stuff' out of my bedroom.

  6. No attack against you, bp csr!

I am glad you expressed your opinion.

The Democrats will not spend as much of your tax dollar as the Republican have, for the last 12 years. If you don't earn over $150,000 a year you will get a tax cut, under the Democrats. If you don't make over $250,000 you will see no tax increase. It is only if you make over $250,000 that your taxes will be raised.

Where did you get the idea that the Dim will raise your taxes?

Because every Democrat that has ever been in office has raised taxes -- that's where I got the idea.

  7. I thought this topic was non-political. I was defending my right to stand up and keep my stuff my own - not letting somebody bully me. Wow!!! I guess I have to put in my 2 cents worth here, then.

I think the Democrats will tax my money until there's none left for me to live on if they are elected into the White House. How in the world will taking my money - money I worked hard for, money my mother left me, the house we recently sold - everything getting taxed until there's nothing left for me, make some poor person any richer? If they work 2 jobs, then good for them. I worked 2 jobs when I was a single mother trying to keep my kids fed. But by the grace of God and my ability to improve my surroundings (little by little), I am able to have more than I did. So with the Dems running the country, I see nothing but bad times in store for us.

Sorry - JMO. I'm ready for the attacks now.

    Thanks, PSD!

I hardly ever get that kind of credit. My credit is bad here in this area of the country. I have good credit with my bank, but very bad credit in the State of Georgia, where I have lived all my life.

If I had been born when Lincoln was President I would have fought against my own family. I would have marched with Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman. :)

PS - I think Sherman was a Republican :good:

  8. I have not finished putting things back in order. I still have a whole bunch of 'stuff' in the spare bedroom I affectionately call the 'black hole'. We have painted the rooms and I still have no pictures up or anthing on my mantle yet, but I just have to give some wonderful credit to Simply Floored. They really know what they are doing and I am as happy as a bug with my new hardwoods.

Just wanted to share - they are sooooo pretty.

  9. How do you declutter things that your grandchildren gave you? I'm thinking of getting a storage box, wrapping them in tissue and putting them in storage. Is that wrong??? These things are sentimental to me, but I don't need to keep them out.

Does anybody else have this problem??

  10. Part of standing up for yourself is assuming responsibility for your decisions and their consequences. That's why I will never support a big brother form of government as promoted by the left.

I also believe that choices have consequences. I feel that everything I work so hard for is mine. It does not belong to anybody else, except me and God. I believe that I have to stand up for myself because there's nobody else to do it for me. But I will not be intimidated by people who want me to give them something that I work for.

  11. Thank you! Like I said, this is my homestate, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why we are spending billions of our tax dollars to rebuild neighborhoods that are below sea level. The only answer I can come up with to your question is...fish.

Or "fish bait". I was told that N.O. has a different breed of people who only come out at night. This came from my friend who grew up there and left as soon as her husband graduated LSU. I thought that was a little extreme about the other folks only coming out at night, but she swears its true. Voodoo and all.....

  12. It's okay to stand up for yourself.

You can let people know that you will not put up with being undermined and disrepected without having to be a smarty-pants about it. If you use tact, you can ususally get your point across and leave people scratching their heads thinking, "Did she just tell me off?"

Fear is a healthy thing, you don't just walk up to somebody you know is dangerous and insist they respect you and your feelings. Chances are, if they're dangerous or a bad-a$$, you can't reach them with any amount of tact. It's best to know which battles to fight.

  13. After Katrina, the crime rate in metro Atlanta rose. I thought then that it was those 'entitled' evacuees that were in town doing it all. I worked with a girl who had a friend in an apartment complex where many of them had been accomodated. Her friend had to move due to the fact that the complex became infested with folks who hung out all night long in the parking lots, breaking into cars, apartments and her friend feared for his own well being and moved.

I'm sorry, but I don't feel sorry for those who go out and do crimes. I feel sorry for the old people who can't afford to do more than go to a shelter. The levees didn't break during Katrina - it was a loose barge that broke it. The mayor and the (then) governor didn't have a plan in place to evaucate. What kind of mentality did that governor have not calling in the National Guard to help evacuate when the hurricane was on it's path there? Idiots! It went smoothly this time. At least Mayor Nagin (sp?) had a clue as to what to do this time. And another thing -- who in the world would want to LIVE BELOW SEA LEVEL?????

  14. VP Palin won't have time to go on Oprah, hopefully. Frankly, one wonders if Palin should dignify that show by appearing.

I was thinking the same thing -- What if Mrs. Palin DOESN'T want to go on Oprah. I think Oprah was mesmerized and I really thought she was wiser than to back a candidate. That sort of limited her selection of guests. Of course, what would she talk to Mr. Biden about? His hair plugs???

  15. I have 'my' opinions about the "View". I guess this forum is the place to put them out:

Elisabeth - definitely a Republican - and very outspoken an opinionated regarding her feelings

Joy - definitely a Democrat - and very loud, obnoxious and also interrupts

Sherry - not too sure about her - I think she wants to be something (either Dem or Repub) but isn't sure.

Barbara - definitely Democrat - part of the media that LOVES Obama

Whoopie - first I wasn't sure she'd be a good moderator, but even though she is a Democrat, she always tries to be sort of a 'peacemaker' between the others.

That said, poor Elisabeth has to interrupt because the others are so negative about her candidates. :)

Watch Barbara --- she's like an old, worn out old mama lion watching her cubs about to go out on their own. She tries to be diplomatic, but you can see right through it.

Okay, so now you know why at 11:15 every morning, I'm tuning into Drew Carey -- I just get so mad watching them. But every day, my television is on that channel till my blood pressure starts rising. :glare:
