  1. So, since there obviously won't be enough potato soup at the Neighborhood cafe to feed everyone tom orrow, and since I'm trying to encourage Kim to use her crockpot, I thought I'd post a crockpot cheesy soup recipe. :)

    CROCK POT CHEESY POTATO SOUP

6 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped (6 cups) OR--you can use a large bag of Southern-style hash brown potatoes--the kind cut in cubes

    2 1/2 cups water

    1/2 cup chopped onion

2 teaspoons instant chicken bouillon granules or 2 bouillon cubes

    1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (6 ounces) OR you can use cubed Velveeta in the same amount, if desired

    1 (12-ounce) can Evaporated milk (1 1/2 cups)

In a 3 ½ to 4 quart slow cooker combine potatoes, water, onion, bouillon granules, and pepper. Cover; cook on LOW-HEAT setting for 8 to 9 hours or on HIGH-HEAT setting for 4 to 4 ½ hours.

Stir cheese and milk into mixture in cooker after initial cook time. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 1 hour more or on high-heat setting for 30 minutes more. Mash potatoes slightly, if desired.

Stir in crumbled bacon, chopped green onion stems, and 8 oz. container of sour cream at the same time you add the cheese and milk, if desired, or these can be served on the side as garnishes for the soup.

    Makes 6 servings.

I make this one all the time, my family loves it!

  2. We little knew that morning,

God was going to call your name,

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

    You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

    You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

    Our family chain is broken,

    and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

    The chain will link again.

We love you Danny and miss you terribly. We will miss seeing our children run across the church parking lot to there PaPa this Sunday morning and taking turns aruging about who is going to sit on your lap during church. We are so thankful our children knew their "Papa Danny". Things will never be the same here on earth but we are longing for the day to see you and hug you again.

Untill we see you again, Love,

Chad, Jennifer, Katelyn, Emily & Chase.

I went throught the Chick-Fil-A drive thru, the kids and I set up on the deck, I took one bite of my sandwhich, walked inside to get some ketchup and one of our outside cats helped himself to my sandwhich :o My kids just sat their and watched him take off with it  So I had fries for dinner :(

  5. What I do for my customers that get a thank you gift for teachers from me, I do a Mary Kay flower pot with a Satin Hands hand cream, a nail file, a small packet of flower seeds and some candy in a small flower pot with this poem glued onto a craft stick:

"Thank you for planting the seeds that will bloom forever!"

    That is sweet.
