  1. I used the time to exercise and enjoy the baby stages! My daughter is now five and I can honestly say I have never been bored. You can also clean or organize your house - you won't have time once the baby gets old enough for playdates!

  2. I honestly recommend Wachovia above and beyond anyone. They have great customer service and have never, ever placed a hold on my account. (I can't stand banks that hold deposits regularly). If you are dead set against the big bank name, my secondary bank is Community Trust. They offer free accounts for small businesses and have great customer service also.

  3. I absolutely could not live in this weather without the A/C. My bill runs about $300 for 2-3 months of the year and that is fine with me & well worth it! I am preggers too and it is even worse this year. I am hot even with my A/C on, but I would be miserable without it (and so would everyone who had the misfortunate of having to listen to my complaining)!

  4. It's sad, but I doubt DFACS would do much. Even kids who are beaten are rarely removed from the home and kept away. Hopefully the girl can either move out or bear with it a little longer. It sounds as if she has raised herself for a long time. I know just how you feel. Our neighbors work seven days a week from early until about 8 at night so they can have their standard of living they want, and in the meantime their kids are left to roam the neighborhood. Many times one of the kids comes over looking for food and attention and I just feel very sad for her.

  5. Ah yes, the Duggars. Gotta be like a trap door down there by now. F^%#ing insane.

I am very pregnant right now and I can't imagine being this way my entire adult life. I love my kids and (this will be my 2nd) and might have more, but I definitely need a break! I can't sleep, get up or down easily, put on my shoes, etc... I can't believe this woman isn't mental after being pregnant for that many years in a row!

  6. Covered thank you so much for what you are doing. You have been his angel. Can you imagine being in the position that he is in but instead of being in a home where there is love, food, and caring he would have been outside 24x7 alone, hot and hurting. What you are doing is admirable. Thank you.

Well said. I only wish the law would charge the prior owner for neglect/abuse. What a rotten excuse for a human being.

  7. I can back you up on this one.. I know someone who went through something similar.. It was all lies.. but they believed her because Shepherds rest was involved and even notarized and signed the papers when the the women was not in town.. Unbelievable. It has all been proven untrue.. there was NEVER any physical evidence what so ever to even support the lies and accusations... ;)

Well its a shame that people like that exist, but they do. It is not the shelter's fault and honestly, if they had to investigate before helping someone - the person that really needed the help could be dead before the shelter decided it was a legitimate threat. The people who need the help should not be punished because of someone elses lies. In any of the cases, it is mostly he said/she said and no one really knows what happened unless there is some documented medical proof. Many of these women don't file charges or go to the hospital so I don't really know that there would even be a good way for the home to be able to investigate. Maybe if these people are proven to be lying by the court - the court should offer a nasty penalty so that people don't find it so easy to take advantage of this type of situation.

  8. Run from Bill Heard! I got a great deal at Cobb Toyota though. It depends on what you want - if you are buying new, you need to go to a dealership that has that car. I know that new cars lose value the second you drive off the lot, but some of the deals are so good that you really don't! I think some of the trucks probably have great deals since I think many people are opting for smaller gas-misers. As for a used one - I have heard many great things about Carmaxx from friends and associates. Good luck. Car buying is nerve racking!

  9. I would get an attorney asap. If you don't, and things go downhill and you get one later - it will look bad. Why did you wait? Etc... Plus, insurance companies are ruthless and their company WILL most likely call and try to bully you and tell you that you have to talk to them and answer their questions. It would be much easier with an attorney to refer them to. Trust me, the insurance people can twist anything you say and an attorney can only help so much after that has happened. Sorry I don't have one to recommend, but I would definitely get one.

  10. We have taken our daughter several times. One time, an older teenager was being truly obnoxious and skating fast/knocking people over and he fell on my daughter and did twist her leg. The rink was great and kicked the kid out with orders that he isn't permitted back because he was acting inappropriately. I thought they handled the problem wonderfully and were truly concerned about my daughter. They ARE trying to keep it a low-key family oriented thing.

  11. If you want the dog to have a better life, you will probably have to take him or find him a new home. The owner obviously won't do what needs to be done.

I would keep him separated somehow from your other animals until you get him checked out. The vet I use is in Acworth - The Acworth Animal Hospital on Toccoa Dr. They usually can get you in same day and are the cheapest/best I have found. I have also taken in several animals to help find homes and I can't afford a lot either and they seem to be pretty reasonable. They are also honest as to whether or not it should be with your other animals.

Best of luck and I hope the dog is ok.

  12. Well, there could be any number of reasons they need to get rid of it. Allergies, asthma in the child, etc... At least they are looking for a home instead of dumping it like I have seen people do. Once you have a child, it is the most important thing in the world. No, animals aren't expendable, but if there are health/safety issues, a child will most likely always come first.

That said - I would have my doubts about believing the good with kids statement (it is very likely IMO - that they would get rid of it because of worrying it might hurt the baby)

  13. I have about 20 Dvd's or better that skip and would like to fix them. Everyone I know that deals with electronics says that they rarely get scratched deep enough to really be broken, yet I have some that look great and still skip. I also have a couple that have skipped from day one. Some ARE surface scratched, but not deep at all. I know that there has to be something that works, but I have no idea where to look and I don't want to randomly start buying things when I am sure a lot of this type of product is junk... Thanks

  14. God allows things like this because he has given us free will. He doesn't control our thoughts or behaviors. The point of us being here vs. heaven is that HE doesn't control everything here and it isn't perfect. It is a truly sad event (many are), but I honestly believe it was the time to go for that lady. As for the man, it wasn't his time to go and I am sure that this event will have a major impact on his life. Sure, there are some drunks like this that never change. Others may do a complete turnaround and counsel others and such and end up saving a lot of lives in the future. Sometimes God will give this type chance after chance to change and they never do. We will probably never know. For those of us who do belive in the Lord, we just have faith that there is a reason and purpose even though we may not know what it is.

  15. I would explain it to them and be as nice as possible. Honestly, I wouldn't be too worried at this point because most companies will not even think about firing a pregnant person. I am sorry for you though. I had the same type of problem with my first job and by the time my baby came, I couldn't stand my boss. I never did go back... Hope your situation turns out well. Mine ended up for the best because I just stayed home with my daughter.

  16. I am hoping with all the animal people here, someone can tell me what is good for itching in dogs. My dog is just under 2 years old and she is constantly biting and itching herself (for the past couple of weeks). We have checked and she doesn't have fleas so I am wondering if it is dry skin? She hasn't hurt herself yet (I have seen dogs that tear out hair/skin, etc.. and she doesn't do that). I just want to try to make her feel better before she ends up doing something like that. Any home remedies that people know of? I am not a huge fan of chemicals so I would like something sort of natural if possible. Thanks

  17. I'd pay ya! I would love it if more restaurants delivered. I don't really like eating in them, but once you are there to get the food---you may as well sit and eat. Now, if you brought it to my door, that would be awesome!

  18. If you don't want to pay, get off you @$$ and go get it yourself :D .

    Well said!

BTW, I usually tip $5-10 for delivery - depending on if everything is there & the friendliness of the person.

Time to deliver isn't really the drivers fault because they can be waiting on the people in the store to make the pizzas. Plus, they aren't the ones quoting inaccurate times for delivery. The only true things a driver can control are: remembering your extras like sauces & drinks & remembering to smile and be appreciative.
