  1. I may have looked at this differently had I not had relatives that went through chemo/radiation, but no I wouldn't think of it as suicide. My grandmother had cancer and took treatments. She would come home with burn marks on her back, neck, stomach, and she would be in awful pain. Towards the end of her life, she developed another illness that would not allow her to swallow food, so was put on a feeding tube. Her body was so "sick", the area around her feeding tube became infected, and hospice nurses said the infection from the feeding tube would kill her before the cancer. Had she not gone th
  2. In the beginning we were told that also, but the IRS changed something if you closed after November 6th, and is making it a little harder because of so much fraud...we know this because we ammended our return and the IRS said they sent it back because there were new forms that needed to be sent. When we received our return back, the IRS still had not updated their website with the new form, and by the time we had the new form, there was no point in having them ammended, even though I had already paid for it! I'm so ready to have this finished!
  3. Yes and I do find information about it being sold, but nothing showing how long the house was listed or when it was put on the market.
  4. My husband and I purchased a house at auction, and closed on November 20th. Our tax preparer said we need an MLS listing showing our house was on the market around the May 11, 2009 date to receive some type of tax credit (state credit maybe??...not sure...my husband has been handling our taxes) Could someone tell me how I could get this?
  5. I've always liked the name Tucker but am pretty certain kids would make fun of that name with a rhyming word. If I ever have a boy I wanted to name it Tucker Cole. Or this may seem old school, but I like Sydney and Shea too.
  6. This is along the same lines as the gifts you mentioned, but the other day I saw a cute idea of making a banana pudding in a coffee mug. You put vanilla wafers in the cup with instant banana pudding mix and give them directions to add milk and it's ready. There were a few other neat coffee mug ideas on that site too.
  7. Yes basically, but we actually put in a higher offer on a different house($13,000 more than the highest bid) a week before the auction, but the bank said it was too late to accept any offers because they had already signed a contract with the auction company.
  8. I am pretty sure the bank usually has to approve the highest bid. We went to the auction at Cobb Galleria, and were highest bidders on a house. When we went to closing, the attorney said some of the houses fwll through, and were being auctioned online, and they were constantly getting packets back where the bank was rejecting offers. She didn't mention how much the offers were though. Is it in Safe Harbor?
  9. Look at the bright side...it gives families a chance to get out on a Saturday and enjoy some cheap entertainment! Remember, here at the car show at Alpha Omega, we are having music, moonwalks, food, and FUN! All proceeds benefit the Paulding County Child Advocacy Center.
  10. We look forward to seeing everyone at the car show tomorrow!
  11. My cousin is on there. Didn't expect to see that.
  12. I made an assortment of about 150 for my brothers 21st birthday one year. Blue jello with coconut rum went over well. I also did lime jello and used tequila, strawberry jello and used rum, I think I did pineapple jello and used coconut rum too. They were all gone by the end of the night. Next I am going to try peach jello with peach schnapps. Oh and I did half water, half liquor as well. I also read to lightly spray cups with cooking spray so the jello slips out, but I don't think we did that. Sounds like fun!
  13. Well the shirts were only $10, so if I tried to do one myself and ruined it, I can just go get another. Or if I went somewhere and had them done, if one was ruined, it wouldn't be a big issue. I was just wondering what type of place would maybe specialize in this.
  14. I am getting married in August and bought 2 ivory linen shirts for our ushers. I want to dye them a light pink, but am not sure where to go for this...and am too scared to do it myself. Would I go to someone that does alterations? Dry cleaning? Or is it pretty simple to buy a pack thing at Wal-mart and do it myself? Anyone here do something like that?
