  1. I pay my dogwalker $8 a visit... He's in high school and lives nearby. He walks over and lets my 2 small dogs out to go potty while I'm at work.
  2. Which makes me think it was deliberately done as a marketing tactic. Not only is everyone noticing but it is a topic on Pcom. Looks like whoever did it had been through McDonald's University marketing class.
  3. I live north of Dallas off of 61. I work at the Sam Nunn Federal Bldg. On a good day, my commute is an hour each way, on a normal day its about an hour and 10 minutes and on a bad day it can be up to 2 hours one way. I get to telework 3 days a week starting in June... I cannot wait!
  4. My daughter started wearing bifocals at 2 years old because she couldn't see close up. She would turn her eyes in to focus until she got the glasses. She was able to go into single vision by the time she was 13 and then was in contacts at 14. She's 22 now. It was REALLY hard to find glasses that fit her 20 years ago. Metal frames always held up the best. Her doctor is Dr. Robert Tucker in Alpharetta, she began seeing him when we lived in Palmetto and he was in East Point. She wore the patch for a while too and went to eye therapy but its all good now. She used to fall asleep in those b
  5. Thanks for posting the link. I still really don't understand about this because I thought the budget was passed as a whole and not piece by piece. We have a Continuing Resolution until 18th because the budget hasn't been approved so I don't know how a portion of the budget is passed. Maybe someone can explain it to me. Thanks!
  6. I wanted to read more about this. Can you provide a link? Thank you for the post!
  7. See, that sounds like the same problem I had. I have had no problem with the care once I got through the waiting room. I do think if you have chest pains, you would probably be seen immediately. But, there seems to be an issue with the front desk being able to prioritize patients on certain occassions. I was in the worst pain in my entire life (once admitted I was actually on a morephine pump for 8 days), tears were streaming down my face and they took patients ahead of me that were laughing and getting snacks. I went back to the desk after about 45 minutes and asked them please to get me
  8. I did have a really bad experience in that ER one time (the other times were always fine)and it wasn't from poor care in the back but from the ones in the front not correctly prioritizing. I went in with severe abdominal pain. Apparently they thought I had cramps but it was acute pancreatitis. I thought I was going to die while I waited 1 1/2 hours to be taken back. But the nurses that took care of me for 10 days after I was finally admitted made up for it. I am really grateful for the care I received on the 3rd floor.
  9. They are keeping the elephants in the parking lot between the arena and federal building. I work on 18 in the federal building and am enjoying watching the elephants out our window. I haven't seen any protesters from that direction. Have fun!
  10. I was wondering the same thing. I hope everyone is going to be ok and I'd like to know how it happened. I drove that way today and it looked like there was debris on the shoulder near Windmill Subdivision.
  11. The food court at Peachtree Center, Tin Lizzy across from Oakland Cementary (Where 6 Feet Under used to be), CNN Center, Mellow Mushroom on Ivan Allen
  12. Yeah, I think this sends a signal that education isn't important; both family time and education are important and there is time for both. My daughter did homework sitting at the kitchen table while I was working in the kitchen and available to help/discuss assignments. It seemed like "family time" to me when we did that.
  13. Um, I think we might have been there at the same time! This morning? I was totally impressed with them also! She knew exactly what was going on without me having to tell her my history of sinus infection goes into bronchitis goes into pneumonia. I got a steroid shot and antibiotics. Plan to be feeling better soon!
  14. I grew up near Tarpon Springs Florida and the famous Pappas Restaurant. The authentic restaurants there would never serve their salad without potato salad underneath. The Publix New York Style Potato Salad is most like the potato salad served in those restaurants beneath the lettuce. Yummy!
