Paulding was on the news, the wind has fanned the fire back up some... started out being 20 acres, and now it is 120 acres

PCFD and GFC crews remain on the scene of yesterday's wildfire located off Hwy 278 near the Paulding County airport. Gusty winds pushed the fire across breaks cut last night extending the total burned area to roughly 120 acres. GFC tractors are constructing secondary breaks at this time. No structures are immediately in danger.

GFC is currently performing back-burning operations which eliminates remaining fuel inside the perimeter. Wind conditions are favorable for fire suppression, and it is anticipated further spread is unlikely tonight. Paulding Fire and GFC crews will remain on the scene to monitor fire lines through the evening. Residents within a 10 mile radius can expect heavy smoke in the area for at least another 12 hour

Paulding County Fire/Rescue 35 mins · Wildfire Update at 3:30... The fire grew to approximately 50 acres but units on the scene report 75% containment. Wind continues to spread smoke across many parts of western Paulding County. Residents should anticipate smoke to persist throughout the night and possibly into the morning hours tomorrow.

Units from PCFD and the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) are currently operating at a wildfire approximately 20 acres in size. The fire is located west of Dallas near highway 278 and the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport. No homes or other buildings are in immediate danger. .
