I think its very similar to when you have to let your children go a little. You dont have to leave the picture, but you do have to let them live and let them fail even at times. Your Mother will learn so much about herself during this process. You'll be amazed, I think, at how she'll change and adapt for the better a few months at a time.

I do understand it may be hard at first to accept for some adult children, but you just have to consider....what if the tables were turned and your parents didnt want you to have someone and you felt destined to be alone? My Mother passed away 6 months ago and had told my Dad to find someone. She said on her death bed that she did not want him to be lonely. I am actually helping him find a GF. I loved my Mother and noone could ever replace her. She was my best friend and my Dad was CRAZY about her. But why would I be selfish and want him to be alone? No way! I'm taking apps for GF's for him...all can apply here . (hes 73 btw)
