Thank you to my students and parents for offering their help as we celebrate Armed Forces Day. Also, a big thank you to Rodney at Rodney's BBQ for the use of his ice cream freezer! We're expecting a big turnout based on the number of responses from the Georgia National Guard, Veterans Adm., Dobbins AFB and Operation Military Kids of Chatooga Co.

On Saturday, May 19th, Armed Forces Day, LauraLeigh Farms and stables across the nation will participate in Operation Free Ride. An event offered through Horses4Heroes. This is an opportunity for active military personnel, veterans, wounded warriors and their families to spend a day at a farm or stable riding and learning about horses.
We are looking for volunteers to help with games (horseshoes, hay bale races, bean bag toss, etc...), cake walks, serving food, etc... We also need to borrow a couple of ice cream freezers.
The hours are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you can help, please send a PM or email to lauraleighfarms@aol.com. Experience with horses would be a big plus but not necessary. For more information on this nationwide event go to www.operationfreeride.com.
This is a free, family day for those who serve and defend our nation, past and present.

I would so be jumping on this if MaryBeth was going to be here! She loves you and your horses like crazy. Her Dad is active duty military which is why she's not here. They've moved to Dallas, TX.
This is a great opportunity for kids! Jump on it, folks!
Tell MaryBeth "hello" for me!
