  1. Schindler Lists is very sad. My history professor showed us an old black and white about the Holocaust last semester. It was called Night and Fog. I sat in class and cried, many others did as well.

I went w/ my high schooler on a field trip to the holocaust museum in Atlanta - very interesting. BUT it is so awful and so hard to imagine that happening in real life! so sad!

    Sorry for the hijack.

Can't think of any other RL movies right off.

  2. My sister and I had lunch there a couple of weeks ago when she was here for my son's wedding. We were the only 2 in the place (late afternoon) and the service was not good and the rice had a very strange taste to it. I probably won't go back.

Regarding Pearl China in the Publix shopping center in New Hope, last time we got take out from there both my husband and I ended up sick. I will definately not go back there ever again. Oh, and they were rude, both on the phone when I called in the order and when my husband got there to pick the food up.

oh no... well I haven't been to the place on Dallas Hwy in a year or so.

And OMG about Pearl China. They've always been nice to me. Well they always just say "10 minute" LOL

The last time I was in China Garden they had a man sprawled out on the floor trying to fix the warmers on the buffet and people walking around and stepping over him to get their food. The restaurant is dirty and the owners are rude. To make it worse, the owners had a playpen set up between two booths with their screaming baby in it and had patrons seated right behind the playpen. After that experience and seeing the health scores, I will never return.

On a lighter note, the woman with the Mr. Micro-phone kills me!

There is a Chinese place in Lithia Springs on Thornton Rd. just past Maxim Rd. next to the Kroger that has been very good and fresh every time I've been there. I think it's called New China. There's always a ton of people in there.

Somebody has a Mr. Microphone?? What?

  3. No, thats the Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar on the other side of the new Shopping area. I love the Hibachi Style Japanese but that's a little pricey for me right now. The Hibachi grill syle of serving is more fun with a crowd as well. I just wanted a good Chinese lunch by myself.

oh okay... didn't know there was another place in there.

Well thanks for all the replies... but like somebody posted earlier, doesn't look like Paulding really has a good selection of chinese restaurants :angry2: Oh well, guess I will have to try and venture off someplace else... Any suggestions for a chinese place NOT in Paulding?

sadly I think you are right!

There is a good one on Dallas Hwy (120) in the Publix shopping center right there at Barrett Pkwy. Sorry I can't remember the name. It's beside the Mexican restaurant (which is also good). :)

  4. I tried the new place where Business 6 splits off from 278. Behind the Bank and across from Clarks. I was there for lunch a little after 1:00 with only one other fellow in the place. Service was prompt and food was brought out quickly however the fried noodles that are served with the soup had a stale taste and my egg roll cut and chewed as if the outside of it was stale. I had the Mongolian Beef with Fried Rice. The rice tasted like it had been burned and the sauce on the dish was much darker than I'm used to at other places. It was all edible but a disappointment for a first try. That's a shame because I live just down the street. My experience at the Chinese place closer to Dallas behind the Huddle House has been much better. They seem to be always looking for help but the food quality has been better than the new place.

Is this the place that starts w/ an 'S'? IS it also a sushi bar?

  5. Yup that is it. Are you aware that this place was closed because they were selling the neighborhood cats.

    oh NO~!!!!!!!!

    Are you serious???

I can remember going there as a kid! I don't even remember WHEN they closed... OMG~!! Really?

  6. Was this the Pagoda house building in front of where zayers was? near Windy Hill Rd?

Yes I think so. And there was a 100 year old man that would greet you and take you to your seat. They had nice table, chinese music playing, chinese lanterns hanging, and they served the food in those silver platters w/ tops. And it smelled AWESOME when you walked in. Brings back memories.

  7. I like Pearl China in New Hope in the Publix shopping center.

I wish they had some Chinese restaurants that had "atmosphere". We used to go to the Empress on South Cobb Dr when I was young and it was just so cool. Are there any places like that anymore?
