  1. I have noticed several threads lately about pets becoming lost or being found with no ID tags on their collars. I firmly believe that every pet should have an ID tag. If they get out of the house or yard and become lost, they have no voice to tell anyone how to call their family. Having a tag with contact information on it can literally save their lives.

I will give Pcom members a 50% discount on Plastic or Aluminum tags, any size or shape shown on my web site. That is $3.50 per tag, which includes an "S" Hook and Postage to mail to you. Information engraved onto the tag can include the pet's name on one side and up to 3 telephone numbers (depending on size and shape) on the other side. This offer will be good until February 28, 2007.

You can go to my web site at www.DoodleTags.com to pick the tag you want. Don't order through the web site. Send me an e-mail to let me know what you want and I will send you a PayPal invoice, or give you an address to mail a check.

  2. Saturday as we were leaving Sam's/Wal-Mart in Douglasville. We were on the road where Hooters and Williams Bros BBQ is, waiting in the long line for the traffic light. We were probably 1 car link behind the car in front of us. When the light turned green, and traffic started to move, the car in front of us started rolling backward toward us. I didn't think much about it at first, thinking it was a standard shift and he was just rolling back a little before taking off. But, he just kept coming like he had it in reverse. When he got to about 1/2 car link away, I honked my horn. When he didn't stop, I laid on the horn. He stopped about 2 - 3 feet in front of us, then started toward us again. I started honking again but he didn't stop. He bumped into the front of our car. It wasn't a hard enough bump to cause any damage, but hard enough to know he hit us. A few seconds after he bumped us, he finally started going forward and he waved at me with the middle finger of his right hand, like I had done something wrong! When he got up to that gas station on the corner, he pulled in there, so we didn't see what else he might have done after he left there.

  3. Thanks for the advice. He does have arthritis and is already taking meds for that, but he really makes a mess when he goes in the house. I know he can't help it. He is soooo sweet. I hate to see his health decline, but I do think he has a few more years.

We have an old gal that has been on meds for incontinence for several years now. It does help. It is also possible that he has a bladder infection, or bladder stones, that is causing his sudden urge to urinate. An infection can be cleared up with a round of anti-biotics. Bladder stones can sometimes be dissolved with meds or special food, but may require surgery.

If he continues to suffer incontinence, you can put a diaper on him to keep your carpet or floor dry. On small dogs, you can use baby diapers, but with a large dog you would probably need to use adult human absorbent undergarments such as Depends. You don't put it on like you would a human. Just wrap it around his tummy like a belt and tape the ends together on top of his back.

Let us know what the vet says.

  4. This afternoon when I came out of the Kroger on 61 & 278, there was a lady changing a toddler's diaper on the trunk lid of her car! It was about 50 degrees, the wind was blowing like crazy and it was COLD! There was no blanket or cloth under the child, she was just laying bare butt naked on the cold steel of the trunk lid. I just could not believe that she didn't either use the back seat of her car or use the changing table in the ladies room!! There was also a man and older child, I assume the father and sister. After the toddler (looked to be about 3 years old) was dressed, the mom put her down on the ground next to the car. While she and the dad were busy putting the diaper stuff back in the car, the child went running toward the front of the store, into the path of a car starting to turn down that isle. The sister, (probably about 7 years old) is the one who grabbed her and pulled her back. The parents had no clue that their child had almost been hit by a car until they turned around and saw the sister pulling her away from the stopped car.

  5. Didn't know a beaver could look so spiffy. You better keep a eye out and check on him every day. Cause I bet Miz Cue would love to have him back. Since he has cleaned up his act. She's on the loose you know.

What do you mean by "Since he has cleaned up his act."? Does he have a "wild" past? :)

  6. After New Year's Day, Theodore put away his party hat and noise maker. But, he felt naked and it was pretty nippy out on the front porch. We invited him in, but he said he would rather stay outside so he can keep his eye on things. Chindog gave him a hat and scarf to help keep him warm. :)

  7. We have called upon St. Joseph 3 times. The first time our house sold in 10 days. The 2nd time it sold in about 2 weeks. He must have been a little tired the 3rd time though. After 3 months the house had not sold, but it was a transfer and Mike's employer bought it from us.

I have also heard that he works best if you give him a sip of brandy before you bury him. I just stuck his head in a glass of brandy. :)

    Good luck!

  8. What else can Mizcue's beaver do?????

    GM

The thing that he is best at is greeting visitors at the front door. I have tried to teach him to vacuum and dust, but he is not really into housework.

He looks like he has lost a little weight....those little Chinthings haven't been chewing on him have they????

    Hi to Frankie  !

No, the Chins haven't been chewing on him. He has been working out on my treadmill every day. He likes to watch TV while he power walks.

    Frankie says HI!!

  10. Some of you may remember that we won the carved wooden beaver that MizCue put up for auction as part of Lily's fund raiser. He was dressed in a Santa hat and beard when we picked him up. Now that Christmas is over, he is ready for the New Year!!!

We now affectionately call him Theodore, instead of The Beaver. :)

  11. We tried to move one like that several years ago too. Sorry to tell you, but I am afraid it is "toast". Once that foam pad gets folded and bunched up, it is pretty much impossible to get it back to where it is supposed to be. It is time for a new mattress. We replaced ours with the water filled cylinders. We like it.

  12. THANK YOU Doddle Tags for the beautiful engraved prism "Natalie and Wade" "A Date To Remember" "December 9, 2006". Natalie loved it and she will be able to keep it for a lifetime!

It was our pleasure to make the engraved glass prism for Natalie to keep as a memento of her special evening! We were glad to have the opportunity to be a small part of it. We had a previous commitment that night, so were not able to attend and meet Natalie, but were very pleased to meet you and Wade when you came to pick the prism up.

  13. I agree with Nemie and ACC. If commerce members were restricted to posting only notes related to their business, that would do nothing to help Pcom'ers know anything about that person. Getting to know a commerce member through postings they make in every day discussion threads is a big help to knowing if you want to do business with that person or not. If all you have to go by is their advertisement posts, that is no better than picking someone out of the phone book.

My business is a very small home based engraving business, done primarily through internet sales from my web site. I have had this business for several years, but have only been on Pcom for a few months. I posted under DoodleTags for quite a while with just a "Plus" membership. I don't post a great deal, but some people know who I am, and may have some idea as to what kind of person I am from the notes I do post. I purchased a commerce membership about a week ago. If I had to switch to a different screen name to post in the general discussion threads, the connection between me as a person and DoodleTags would be lost.

  14. I agree with Mama Carol. Wrinkles LOVE a crowded dryer! Try washing and drying smaller loads. If anything comes out a little wrinkled, you can put them back in the dryer with a damp towel. The heat of the dryer and moisture from the towel will help to "steam" the wrinkles out.

Another option if a garment, even a dress shirt, comes out of the dryer with wrinkles, hang it on a hanger, mist lightly with a spray bottle, and rub your hand across the fabric..., holding the fabric taut while rubbing. The wrinkles will disappear. It is MUCH faster than ironing.

I iron something maybe once a year or so.

  15. Chindog and I had lunch at the Fiesta Azteca restaurant on Ridge Road today. There have been mixed reviews about it on here, so we thought we would check it out. Chindog is somewhat of a Mexican food connoisseur. When we got engaged, he made me promise that we would have Mexican food at least once a week. :) Anyway, the food at Fiesta Azteca was really pretty good! I had the beef chimichanga, and Chindog had the enchiladas supreme, 4 enchiladas with different fillings in each. We were both pleased with our meals. The rice, beans, salsa, and guacamole were also good. The service was good too. No complaints at all. When we left, we were both TOTALLY stuffed!! If you have had a bad experience there, give them another try.

  16. Very nice. Do you do the glass cutting and beveling yourself, or just the blasting? I gave my wife a glass wedding bell with etching for our anniversary one year. I have a contact that does stuff like that.

We buy the blanks already cut and beveled, and Chindog does the blasting. I am sure he would be interested in another vendor to purchase blanks from.
