  1. The aquarium they would live in is in our bedroom. I know they do most of their moving around at night. Our dogs sleep on the bed with us and sometimes bark at the slightest noise. I am wondering if they might keep us up barking at the crabs moving around?

  2. They say that hermit crabs can live anywhere from 10 to 30 years. I will continue to care for mine, and hope they have long and happy lives. But 30 years of caring for a "pet" who doesn't care for you much is a REALLY LONG time!

For that matter, so is 10 years. I've had mine for just about a year.

LOL..., my fish never showed me much affection. :)

Wow...., that's a LONG time!! I did not realize they had such a long life span!!

  4. Hi,

We have an empty 30 gallon tank and are trying to figure out what to do with it. I don't want any more fish. I am wondering about hermit crabs, but from looking at a web site this morning it seems that they might take a lot more care than I was thinking. I know some people on here have hermit crabs so I would appreciate some input about what it takes to take care of them.

    Thanks,

  5. Our grandson Justin William was born Thursday evening at about 5:00. He is fat and healthy!!! He was 8 lbs 13 oz and 21" long. We got to watch the nurse give him his first bath when he was about an hour old. He did NOT like it, but we were very happy to be there. Meghan is doing well but is very tired.

Scarlet Indulgence did a WONDERFUL job helping me to put together a gift basket for them. They really loved the variety of soaps and creams from Scarlet's Bellies and Bottoms collection as well as the other things she included for Mom and Dad to use.

They were THRILLED with the embroidered bib and burp cloths that Vader's Wife made. They said they were way to pretty to actually use, but I am sure they will use them.

Meghan got a little emotional when she saw the BEAUTIFUL Mother's Bracelet that Jess made with Justin's name, his birthstone, and Meghan's birthstone. She said she will wear it when she has to go back to work and will feel closer to him when she misses him and looks at the bracelet.

Thank you Scarlet Indulgence, Jess, and Vader's Wife!!!

I am attaching a few pics.

This first one is of him when he was about 45 minutes old with his adoring mom and dad.

  6. Our computer crashed last week. We lost a lot of stuff that can be recreated or doesn't really matter much, but it had been over a year since our digital photos had been backed up. I was very upset that we had lost so many photos!!! But, A Friendly Geek was able to recover the photos we thought were lost forever!!! YEA!!! THANK YOU!!! If you have a problem with your computer, give A Friendly Geek a call. He also gave us some very good advice and did it all at a very fair price!

  7. After running some errands on Saturday, this is what we came home to!! Our dogs had quite a party while we were gone!! What you don't see in these photos is that the destruction began in another room. It was drug across the dining room and across the living room, leaving its contents along the way. We also found some of it in the kitchen and our bedroom. It probably took us much longer to clean up than it took to create. While we have no proof, we highly suspect it was Harvey that started it, but I am sure he had help. He could not have caused that huge rip all by himself. He had to have been playing tug-of-war with someone else. Too bad we don't have a surveillance video camera that could have taped the action! It must have been quite a sight!

I was surprised at what it was filled with. It had about 3 different sizes, shapes, & colors of styrofoam, some foam rubber chuncks, and some pieces of hard rubber.

  8. I made my first visit to Scarlet's this week and came home with LOTS of goodies!! I LOVE the Spell of Love shea cream!! It smells SO good!!! I also REALLY like the Peach Melba hand & body cream. The scent lasts for quite a while after you put it on. The Lavender bath soap smells really nice, and has a great lather!

  9. I have lots! I have a puppy, 4 months old. I have been told that he may have the potential to be shown. I'm not saying that I would but I would like to look into it further. If I did decide to do something like this I would have to find someone skilled to groom him, he would need to be trained for show, etc. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'm just thinking out loud really.

Puppies are eligible to show at 6 months of age.

As far as grooming for show, what breed is your baby?

There is not really a lot of training required for showing in conformation. It is mostly the handler that needs training. :) I would be glad to give you some tips and instruction.

Have you ever been to a dog show and watched what the dogs, handlers, and judges do in the ring?

  10. I am interested in hearing more.

We have shown Japanese Chins in conformation for about 12 years. It has been a really enjoyable experience. We have met a lot of great people, made some life long friends, and had fun with our dogs. It is an expensive hobby though if you plan to go to shows outside the Atlanta area. There are several local shows each year though. The entry fees are around $25 per dog per show.

There is a show in Newnan the end of this month. It is an outdoor show. I can give you more information if you are interested in going to watch.

    What questions do you have?

  11. It has just been recently and I think it is related to stress. I find something to do to take my mind off of it so I quit thinking about it ... Playing computer games take two hands!

Chindog and I quit smoking 15 years ago. It was the BEST thing we ever did for ourselves!! Between us we smoked about 2 packs a day. With the price of cigarettes these days, that's over $200/month!! Besides saving your life, think about how much money you are saving!

  12. Thanks for saying that 1955 was ONLY 52 years ago. :) :)

Comments made in the year 1955!

    That's only 52 years ago!

"I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are,

it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $20.00."

"Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long

before $2, 000.00 will only buy a used one."

"If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. A quarter

    a pack is ridiculous.

"Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just

    to mail a letter?"

"If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to

hire outside help at the store."

"When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would

someday cost 29 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving

    the car in the garage."

"Kids today are impossible. Those duck tail hair cuts make it

impossible to stay groomed. Next thing you know, boys will be

wearing their hair as long as the girls."

"I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more. Ever since they

let Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it

seems every new movie has either HELL of DAMN in it."

"I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to

put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have

some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas."

"Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for

$75,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if

someday they'll be making more than the President."

"I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be

electric. They are even making electric typewriters now."

"It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few

married women are having to work to make ends meet."

"It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire

someone to watch their kids so they can both work."

"Marriage doesn't mean a thing any more, those Hollywood stars seem

to be getting divorced at the drop of a hat."

"I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole

    lot of foreign business."

"Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government

takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are

electing the best people to congress."

"The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I

seriously doubt they will ever catch on."

"There is no sense going to Lincoln or Omaha anymore for a weekend,

it costs nearly $15.00 a night to stay in a hotel."

"No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $35.00 a day in the

hospital it's too rich for my blood."

"If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a hair cut, forget it."

  13. I am SO sorry to hear this sad news. We lost 3 furkids last year. Two were old, one was young. The pain is the same whenever we lose one, even after a long life. We wish they would live forever, but we just have to cherish them while they are here, and have loving memories of them when they are gone. I am attaching a photo of the Rainbow Bridge.

  14. yeah it was a wild and Crazy night to spend with my BFF's and some new great peeps.. It was beyond awesome. I enjoyed myself so well I am not functioning to well now.. I need to eat my peas and collard greens I am scared not to eat it..

This afternoon as we were traveling West on I-20 from Douglasville, we passed a vehicle pulled over to the side of the road. The passenger door was open and there was a person on their hands and knees on the grass praying to Ralph. Was that you? :) :)

  15. Many years ago, before we learned about dog crates, we were staying in a hotel. We had requested NO daily maid service because we were worried about the maid letting the dogs out. The manager told us we did not need a "No Maid Service" sign because it was written on the maid's work sheet. I came back to the hotel one day to discover only one of our two dogs was in the room. As it turned out, the maid could not read English. She opened the door and both dogs got out. They were able to get one dog back in, but the other one ran into the woods behind the hotel. After hours of searching, we luckily found her alive and well.

Now when we have to stay in a hotel, our dogs are safe and secure in crates. We don't have to worry about them running out if the maid comes. It is also a "piece of of home" they are familiar with, so it reduces stress during travel.

  16. We have some friends who met online and have been happily married for over 5 years now.

Chindog & I met through the predecessor of Online Dating......, Video Computer Dating. We were engaged just 3 weeks after our first date, and married 2 months later. We have been happily married for 24 years.

  17. Even the ones that aren't specifically recycling are mostly staying

open, because they're saying you use a lot less water there than at home.

(Which may or may not be true, depending on how you wash, specifically)

But, in Paulding County, only car washes that recycle their water are supposed to be in operation. All others are supposed to be closed.

  18. Unless they changed it I think 1 dish can only do 2 different receivers or it is 4?

Can't see any reason to have 6 dishes. Even if they changed satellite provider how many different ones are out there and why don't they just take down the old ones?

This is a brand new house, only about a year old. They were all on the house, but just a few weeks ago they moved a portable building into their back yard. Now, 4 of the dishes are on the portable building and 2 on the house.

  19. its been open quite a while now ... but i think they are tryin to sell it ? there is a sign up anyways ... maybe it is the property behind it for sale i dont know ...

I think it is the car wash that is for sale.

There is not a sign saying "We Recycle Our Water", like some car washes have now. And, it is so old, I really have my doubts that it was something they did back when it was originally built. But, I see people washing their cars there almost every time I drive by.
