Bumpin' it up for the afternoon crowd.

  3. I let him go the next day, (11/24). He was still doing well and scurried away.

We had one too. It died because we did not let it go fast enough because the kids wanted to hold and play with him. I would let him go asap.

  4. When I moved our big garbage container to roll it to the curb today, there was a little black lizard under it. It's skin is slick and shiny. It has a lot of tiny yellow spots all over. Nose to tail, he is only about 3".

It did not run when I moved the trash can. It just laid there on the dirt. I had never seen one like it so I took a photo of it with my cell phone. I got within a few inches of it to take the photo. It still did not run. It did take a couple of steps, so I knew it wasn't dead.

I checked on it after about 30 minutes and it was still just laying there, out in the open, on the dirt. I felt badly because he apparently is in a hibernation state, and I took his shelter. He was very easy prey for birds where he was. I put a plastic container over him and slid a piece of plastic under him. He did cling to the plastic for a few seconds, but fell down into the container when I turned it over. He still did not move much.

He has been in the container in our kitchen all afternoon. The only thing he has done is stick his head under a wood chip that was near him when I scooped him up. I am wondering if I need to warm him up so he "wakes up" and then turn him lose tomorrow? Since the temps are supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow, I am afraid if I just dump him under a bush or something, he may not be able to find adequate shelter if he is still "asleep".

Here is a pic of him.

  5. I saw him twice today. The first time he was about 3:15. He was just North of HIram Sudie. He was having trouble pushing it because there is hardly any paved shoulder. When I passed him again about an hour later, he was just South of Hiram Sudie and had pulled off in front of that old house. Traffic was slow, so I was able to get a pretty good look at his vehicle. I could see bicycle pedals and gear chain, and a rear wheel that was offset from the main frame, like a trike. The distance between the pedals and the rear wheel looked longer than the usual 3-wheeled bicycle, like it was stretched.

  6. We had the same problem with our refrigerator. Pate's Appliance fixed it for a VERY reasonable cost. He only charged $137.00. The problem was the defrost relay switch. The freezer coil was completely frozen over. GIVE PATE'S A CALL!! Their number is 770-445-4617.

    Retha

I have a fridge w/ the same problem.... freezer works but fridge not cooling. Good luck in getting yours fixed.... and let me know what you find, I need mine fixed too, but on a miniscule budget.

  7. Here is a very good home made puppy formula. I raised an orphaned puppy from 3 days old until weaning, and supplemented several puppies using this formula.

10 oz. canned Goat's Milk (not pasteurized cow's milk - this will cause scowers - dogs cannot drink normal cow's milk)

You can find it in the baking section of any grocery store.

    1 raw egg yolk

1 cup of whole yogurt (avoid skim or fat free if at all possible)

1 Tsp Karo Syrup or Corn Syrup (NOT HONEY !!!)

Place ingredients in a blender and blend or use a wire whisk. Be careful to not over blend and create a milk shake full of bubbles and then tube bubbles into the puppy.

Keep refrigerated and discard leftovers after 7 days.

Warm formula to body temperature (dogs are around 101 degrees). Discard any un-used formula.

The bottles you buy at pet supply stores have nipples that are very difficult to get the right size hole. The best thing I have found is to buy some regular human baby bottles. made for preemies, at Wal-Mart or Target. Puppies can easily latch onto them and the flow is sufficient but not too much.

    Good luck,

    Retha

Would anyone by chance have some puppies milk and a bottle. I have one left and I think it would do him some good to drink some puppy milk. He is eating but not good enough.

  8. Our refrigerator quit cooling properly. I called Pate's Appliance Service and he came out this morning, right on time. It wasn't long before he found the problem and fixed it! He even found a water leak that a previous repair service had missed and fixed it!! I am VERY pleased that I called them!! I am also VERY pleased with the bill!! It turned out to be a lot less than I thought it would be, and that doesn't happen very often these days.

If you have an appliance in need of repair, give Pate's Appliance Service a call!! The phone number is 770-445-4617.

  9. Bumping for morning people.

I have been notified that someone who has just recently moved to Atlanta (Cumming area) has lost their Japanese Chin dog. They JUST moved into their new home and he escaped Tuesday (7/22). He is not wearing any ID. All of their photos are still packed in a box somewhere. I am attaching a photo of one of our Chins as an example of what he may look like. PLEASE tell anyone you know who lives IN Atlanta to be on the lookout for this dog. He is probably only about 8 lbs, black & white, and very shy. If I get an actual photo of him I will post it. I will also post a more specific area when I find that out.

Stitch By Design really did do a GREAT job on embroidering Chindog's name on his guitar strap! It was a great pleasure meeting her when she brought it by this morning. She is a terrific person.

  12. Ok, so I am saving your site on my favorites and when I get some money, I will order a tag. but I got a question, which do I need, mini or small size for a medium size dachshound?

    TIA

    Kris

    Kris,

Since Dachshund's have such short little legs, I would go with the mini. I can get 2 lines of text on each side of the little mini bone.

  13. My dog's ID tag disappeared. She still has on her rabies tag, but the id tag is gone. I guess it broke off? Never found it in the yard. Anyway, I had bought that one at a machine inside the old walmart in hiram. Does anyone know if they still have that machine. I have not seen one at the rockmart walmart. Any suggestions on where to buy one locally. i saw you could or one on petsmart and petco, but by the time they add in shipping it ends up being almost 20 dollars. Thanks!

I make Pet ID Tags as part of my engraving business. You can check out the sizes, shapes, and colors on my web site, www.DoodleTags.com and click on the "Pet Tags" link at the top of the page. They are $7.00, which includes the engraving and shipping. I can usually ship the day after I receive the order.

I can currently engrave the 1/8" thick plastic tags, but due to a mechanical problem with my engraver, I can not do the aluminum ones right now. The plastic ones are very durable and can be engraved on both sides.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  14. We are needing to find a new family care physician, since the doctor we used to go to has moved. Our neighbor goes to a doctor in the East Paulding Primary Care Center off of 278 & 120. I would appreciate any comments on personal experiences with this doctor's office, and which doctor you use.

  15. HELLO to Gorga Monkey's mom and dad!!

Hey Rob & Rhonda - We are also from Oklahoma. (Southeast OKC and Bethany) We have been in GA for a little over 6 years. Our son & his wife and our daughter & granddaughter have all moved out here to be near us and they all love it too!!!

Mom & Dad, Rob & Rhonda, come out for a visit and you may just decide to stay also!!!

  16. We had a little hiccup on one trick she was helping me with, but we managed to get through it, and she pulled the final illusion off like an old pro!

    JMT

I didn't notice any "hiccup". I thought everything was AMAZING, and the final illusion was AWESOME!!!! The best I've ever seen!!!

    Retha

  17. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I knew he was good. He performed a few tricks at the Paulding Business Association meeting earlier this month, and I had watched a few videos on his web site. But, the show tonight was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

He picked me to come up on stage for one of the tricks. It was the one with the deck of cards that ended with the card I had chosen being magically drawn on a sheet of paper. He signed it and gave it to me. It was a lot of fun!! After the show, several people came up to me, asked to see the paper, and asked me how he did it. When I told them that I had no idea, they said, "But you were right there! You couldn't see how he did it?". Really!!! One second the drawing of my card was moving up from behind the drawing of a different card and the next second it was one solid sheet of paper with the drawing of my card and the other card..., it is kind of hard to describe in a few short words.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything he did. He is also very funny!! He puts on a WONDERFUL show!!! If you missed the show tonight, you should really try to catch a future performance!!

    Retha

How fun was that, right? Oh my gosh! The crowd was FANTASTIC!!!!!! You all reacted so great you every single trick and joke--it was amazing. THANK YOU for all of your support-you guys have done an amazing job helping to support McKenna Farms-slowly but surely-we're making it happen Paulding County!

  18. Chindog cooked the pork chops on the grill last night and they were SOOOOO yummy!!!! VERY juicy and VERY tender!!!

We went there today for the first time. We sure were impressed with them! The meat case would absolutely make you drool! There was so much stuff in there, and it was all priced way less than any of the grocery stores. They also had a wonderful selection of produce and fruits.

We got a couple of humongously thick boneless pork chops to throw on the grill for dinner. Also got some potatoes and onions, and cantelope. And, for breakfast, we picked up some of their hot sausage (the good stuff, not the junk in the tube). It was all less than $10. Holy Cow! What a great deal!!!

I just can't say enough good stuff about these folks!
