Johnny was the "King of Late Night" for sure. When I was in high school, and also in later years, I never missed 11:30 and the Tonight Show theme and that opening monologue. Some of my favorite sketches were Art Fern the tv movie matinee host, with that busty actress (name escapes me) always standing at his side. Whenever Art would break for a commercial, he'd always give directions to the car dealership he was pitching: "Take the Santa Monica Boulevard to the Slawson cut-off, get out of the car and cut off your "Slawson"..........." Then of course there was Karnak with that damn e

What did you think of the program
Quasimodem replied to yrelle's topic in Welcome and learn about the NEW Paulding.com
What a very nice compliment ("too short")! After speaking with the "executive producer" yesterday, we decided that since this isn't radio, and no one has any time constraints, we can jabber with y'all as long as you want, so look for a longer show Tuesday night at 8. We'll announce the guest lineup later today. Thanks again for all the comments, y'all! Q -
What did you think of the program
Quasimodem replied to yrelle's topic in Welcome and learn about the NEW Paulding.com
The "Calling It a Night" part was mainly my fault, Six. I'm sorry about that, and if y'all wanna turn this into longer than just one hour program, then that is just fine with me. I just didn't wanna bore y'all with me, and to be honest, we didn't really set a time limit on the program. I just thought an hour was a pretty good time limit........ Let's see what happens next Tuesday night, though, okay? If y'all wanna talk longer than just one hour, I'll be there for you. It's y'all's show, so let me know what you want and I'll do my best to deliver! Q -

Sounds like a great advertising tool, Pat. Kinda like Gavin was/is for radio, although this Alexa probably doesn't provide local demographics, correct? Q -
Christopher Reeve has passed away

Christopher Reeve should never have died from cardiac arrest, caused by an infection, which was caused by a pressure wound. Q -

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing this gentleman, but if someone is missing him, then he made an impression. May he rest in peace knowing someone thought enough of him to post this memorial message. Q

Gem-ster! Not only commenting on this one, but all of your images! Very nicely done, my young friend! I agree with Pub on the first one: It's simplicity and form just speaks for itself. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work, and what is your opinion about using your images as wallpaper? Do we need your permission, or is it granted freely? Thanks! Quasi

What about the gallery ... Do you use it?
Quasimodem replied to a topic in Welcome and learn about the NEW Paulding.com
I may post some of my vacation pictures, Pat, and so far I haven't noticed any probs, but I find it a little tough to navigate, and I am not always sure of the size photos that would be accepted in your gallery. Some of them have wound up as little red x's. However, the Gallery wasn't my main reason for joining up here and if I have some interesting stuff I want y'all to see, I'll just direct you to PictureTrail.com. Additionally, my family and friends in Germany have been highly impressed with the Car Show pictures and pictures of Paulding Life in General, so if y'all take some nice -
Augustine Glass: 46 Years of Dedication
Quasimodem replied to Quasimodem's topic in May they rest in Peace
Hey dar. I wanted to amend that last post to include the late great Carolyn Baulding, (or CB, as she was more popularly known). Donations for the plaque are being taken on the Med-Surg floor, and the plaque will honor all three of these wonderful ladies who were such an integral part of patient care at our little hospital. I am sorry to say that I did not notice your aunt's picture having been removed from the lobby, but I seldom enter that way anymore. If it is no longer being presented in the lobby perhaps it is hanging in the board room. Shall I check for you? Dr. Smith's picture -

Augustine Glass: 46 Years of Dedication
Quasimodem replied to Quasimodem's topic in May they rest in Peace
Hey Dar. When I was at work last night, I noticed a collection was being taken up for a memorial plaque to name the Med-Surg Nurses's station after Tina and Diane Gulledge, another nurse we lost just recently. I think that's a great idea, but if we build a new facility, I would want that honor to carry over to the new building. Q -
Augustine Glass: 46 Years of Dedication
Quasimodem replied to Quasimodem's topic in May they rest in Peace
Welcome, Dar! And if you knew Augustine and interacted with her you are already a friend of mine! She touched many young lives (read that as "future nurses") at Wellstar and her influence will be felt for many years to come. Currently, I am hard at work thinking (thinking is hard work for me! ) of a place in our hospital we can name after our Tina. I will put the word out at Paulding, but in the meantime if you or any one else has an idea, please send me an e-mail. Thanks Q -
Augustine Glass, popularly known as Tina by her co-workers passed away in her sleep on March 28th, 2004. She came to work at our hospital as a young lady and has taken care of many of you and has taught many of her co-workers the meaning of compassion and caring. She always had a kind word for me whenever she saw me, and was always ready to lend a helping hand with my patients. In short, she was a valued member of our health-care team and will be sorely missed. Her funeral was today at Shiloh Baptist Church, and many of her friends, fellow church-members and co-workers came to p
