Kim Curl, Daniel Stoutt, Ronny Sibley, and possibly Paulette Braddock. May be others who will jump in but those are the folks I am aware of. Not sure the spelling is correct in all names but they are close.

The sad part would be for the accused to be innocent, her teaching career ruined, regardless if she is cleared of all the charges. I bet she'd have a hard time finding other employment as well. All it takes is the accusation of one child to ruin a career but if the teacher is guilty, she should be prosecuted. It's a sad situation all around.

The only criteria for any arrest is probable cause ("a reasonable amount of suspicion, supported by circumstances sufficiently strong to justify a prudent and cautious person's belief that certain facts are probably true").
Law enforcement does not decide if charges are filed. They complete an investigation and take the findings in front of a Magistrate judge who decides if probable cause exists and each element of the crime is addressed. If they find sufficient evidence exists then they will sign a warrant calling for the formal arrest of the suspect. The case is then reviewed by the DA who presents it to the grand jury. The citizens review the case and if they agree probable cause exists they will indite the person and send the case to trial.

This whole thing is very scary from what has been stated in the newspapers and by the sister. A friend lets her kids stay with a friend, and one of the kids alleges this happened. Is that all it takes to have you arrested? (I am not saying it is true or not true. I am asking is all it takes to have you arrested is one allegation) I have not read or heard of any other "evidence", witnesses, prior incidents, e-mails, correspondence, just what the mother says the child said)
Law enforcement is put on the spot in these cases, if you ask me. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. You couldn't pay me enough to be a police officer OR an educator in this day an age. And to think my daughter is in college for her teaching degree scares the heck out of me...

Who here believes everything they read in the AJC? These are peoples lives and reputations that are being affected. Unless you witnessed this yourself, have enough sense to let the courts handle this...

They are employees of the taxpayers of the City of Hiram. It DOES have to be disclosed. If there are issues that the voters/taxpayers need to address, it needs to be known.
