gpatt0n
Former President and Georgia Governor has released the fact that he has cancer. The cancer was discovered when he had surgery on his liver earlier this month. The cancer has spread. The release was the first notice regarding the nature of health problems that Mr. Carter had late last month. Here is the article in the NYTimes.
cptlo306
I'm not a fan of his but I wish him the best of luck in this fight. Cancer sucks!
Stonewall
Mr. Carter is the only POTUS I have personally met. He was a very outgoing friendly man at that time. I probably do not agree with many if any of his political views. I think he is a very good person at heart and means well even if he is somewhat naïve on some issues. I understand his family history and age concerning his diagnosis is not promising. However never count the peanut farmer from Plains out...ask the media and GOP about 1976. And yes Cancer Sucks!
tbird
I feel bad for anybody that has cancer, but, my personal feelings are that if I am 90 years old--why do cancer treatments? I feel that it would take just as much, or more, of a toll on the body as the cancer would. I guess I just think different than most folks. I certainly hope that my family wouldn't subject me to the treatments, if I were in the same position.
