Jackie Rakestraw

Jackie Rakestraw, age 60, of Hiram, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011. He was born on May 18, 1951, in Dallas, GA, to the late CB (Whitley) Rakestraw and Clay Lee Rakestraw. Mr. Rakestraw worked as a carpenter for over 40 years and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include wife of 31 years, Becky Rakestraw of Hiram; son, Shane Rakestraw of Powder Springs; mother, Clay Lee Rakestraw of Hiram; brothers, Larry Rakestraw of Hiram and Ricky Rakestraw of Hiram; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda & Joe Mitchell of Hiram and Sheila & Lee Burnup of Cartersville; granddaughter, Caitlynn Celeste Rakestraw of Powder Springs.

 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011, at 2 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lamar Rackley and Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Carlton Rakestraw, Gene Thomason, Randy Hogue, Mike Curtis, Ken Ferguson and Mike Gordon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 25, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Poplar Springs Cemetery Fund 2056 Hiram Douglasville Hwy, Hiram, Georgia, 30141

I went to school with Ricky and worked with Sheila for quite a while. I am sorry for their loss, I know they were a close family.
