PSC Approves Hike For Georgia Power

Be interesting to know how many of the commission's members actually have to pay these rate increases...I imagine the answer to that question is few, if any.

I understand the premise for the Nuke Plant Surcharge.

 

Last Nuke Plant they built got stopped and started 10-15 times by the various regulatory agencies and by the time they started it up, the cost over runs and design changes were billions, and the Southern Company stock holders took it on the chin.

 

They want to make sure they are covered for the costs up front this time.

Why wouldn't they have to pay the increase? If they have GPC as their supplier, they will certainly have to pay it or their power will be turned off.

Getting the nuclear plant that is cleaner and more efficient than other power plants to help the environment is a good idea. It's like taxes that go to good things and no one minds paying for those.
